They have a light fare lounge menu. It's open and airy. Service was quick and food was brought quicker also. Wife had a Pandam Rum punch which was interesting to look at and full of complex flavors. I had a Harvey salad with a juicy chicken breast. Wife had a lump crab cake. It's a little pricey otherwise I would give 5 stars.

We celebrated our one year here and they helped make it the most special day. The ambiance is modern and casual upscale and the service was amazing. To top it off the food was amazing. We had the marrow as a starter followed by the braised beef and duck breast with the Brussel sprouts and cavatelli. Everything was superb and the portions were more than filling. Highly recommend the Brussels sprouts. They had a beautifully crisp outside and a creamy inside. The flavor was playfully savory and sweet from the pumpkinseed brittle. They definitely earned my business and I will be dining here again!

We always bring things to occupy our kids during the wait (coloring stuff or books to read), and the staff seemed fine with their presence. But this is not a place for a kiddo who can't be easily occupied or who doesn't have an adult who can take them for a walk when things get rough, especially at dinner. We ate the halibut, a whole fish, the potato purée (mashed potatoes), brussel sprouts, and kids' pasta and chicken with a generous side of fruit. The kids raved about the fruit! And both enjoyed their (simple but good) entrees. The adults enjoyed our dinner as well. We also tried their peanut chocolate cake with brown sugar ice cream, and the dark cherry blossom sorbet. So good! We spent a bit more than expected but it was worth it. Excellent food, service, and ambience. We weren't staying at this hotel, and I'm so glad we found it.

this is a must hit up spot when in DC but be mindful of the $$$ status. you are not only paying for high quality that it's Michelin star stouts but as well as quantity. they did not skimp out on serving sizes! wow, what can I say...the bone marrow topped with garlic confit was a must have. the braised short rib was melting in your mouth as well as their behemoth fries with a spicy aioli that kicked!! the service was a little slow for my nyc standards but was happy to not be rushed out.

COCKROACH!!! I don't even know how to express the disgust I felt during our meal last night. As we sat down to eat and our drinks were delivered I turned around to see a GIANT cockroach crawling up the wall behind me. I'm taking like well fed, length of my cell phone cockroach. I jumped up and my husband sprung into action and crushed it crunching it with his napkin (sickening). I of course moved to not be sitting near that wall as one employee came over and said "oh it's dc, they're everywhere" and another said "oh it's just because the door was open earlier." WHAT?! I've lived in dc for over 7 years and I have never seen a cockroach in a restaurant ever! The best part of all of it was the manager came over and mentioned sending dessert (ha! The absolute least they could do!) for the experience. We ordered dessert at the end of the meal and they didn't comp it but sent over 2 desserts we didn't order and then tried to charge us for one!! Cockroach aside (and it's hard to put that aside) the food was incredibly lackluster. The halibut was wildly bland, the truffle pasta had a generous amount of truffles yet still had no taste, and the chocolate dessert they sent tasted like something you'd buy at Sams club.

This restaurant is located in a hotel and it is so worth trying. The ambiance is amazing. The service, food and drinks are amazing. The waiter was able to describe everything on the menu in great detail. He gave us recommendations that we LOVED. I had the crab cakes that melt in your mouth. The crispy Brussel sprouts look so deceiving because they are AMAZING. The potato wedges (My God) are so good and crispy. They are like wedges but fried and seasoned to perfection. I hate I didn't get a picture of the famous Apple Pie . We tried not to eat too much because we had dinner reservations some where else and just wanted a snack but clearly we went overboard a little. I definitely would recommend this place, and will surely be back.

In a city full of upscale expensive restaurants, Blue Duck Tavern just didn't deliver. Yes, the food is Michelin-rated. Yes, the wine list is extensive. Probably one of the better wine lists in Washington. However, as a guest at 5-star luxury hotel I couldn't get a table for dinner. I had to eat at a communal table hidden behind the bar. That's unacceptable. For breakfast, getting a table was no big deal. Staff were okay. But I was never asked how my meal was until AFTER I finished eating it, no bread was served, and I wasn't asked if I wanted a refill on my glass of wine. Another customer at the communal table had cold food served to her. No manager ever came over. Does the food and wine deserve all the critical acclaim? Sure. Absolutely. But the reality is, this is a very small restaurant and bar. There isn't anywhere near enough capacity, let alone for guests at the hotel. The bar alone is tiny. The way the decor is configured, it's horrible. Who was the idiot that designed the bar area? Considering the multitude of good to very good restaurants within walking distance of the attached hotel, I wouldn't return for dinner or drinks.

As we were dining in one of the high end hotel and previous michelin, we expected service to be above average at least. When the food arrived, the guy from the kitchen dropped our food plate on our table so hard that you can literally hear the bang and people from next table turned their head towards us. Also, he did not even describe our dish and just walked away without speaking a single word. We ordered halibut and duck. Duck came out dry inside (how hard is it to mess up confit?) and halibut was nothing special to write about. The only dish worth mentioning was Brussel sprouts. Also at one point there was still food remaining in each plates which we were still working on, and one of the server came to take the plate away, and we had to stop him. Yes, he did not even ask "are you finished with your plate?" before touching our plate. Will not go back.

I was here for breakfast, so when I got my bill they assumed I was staying at the hotel which made paying a bit more complicated than it needed to be.I got the eggs Benedict and pomegranate juice. For $7 it was a lot of juice and not everywhere has pomegranate, so that was nice. The poached eggs were excellent and the hollandaise sauce was decent, though the sauce was a bit lightly applied so honestly it was hard to assess. It did not overwhelm the dish at least. Downsides are primarily the menu setting unreasonable expectations for the food you get. The ham was a bit too thick and I didn't taste rosemary despite the menu's claim of "rosemary ham". The "crispy potatoes" were cold and not at all crispy. As a crispy potatoes fanatic who has given up on asking for potatoes to be served crispy because nowhere will actually fulfill that request, when a menu says crispy potatoes I expect them to at least make a passing effort at being crispy even if they won't actually be what I would consider crispy. These potatoes were nowhere in the vicinity of crispy. They were soft and cold and probably had been reheated from yesterday given their mealy and overcooked texture.If you don't care about the texture or temperature of your breakfast potatoes, this place does a fine enough job of providing a fancy seeming breakfast and they can execute well on the things that must be made fresh like poached eggs. It would be a much better restaurant if they put the same amount of effort and care into all of the details instead of only some of them.

The trendy open concept atmosphere will not suit everyone. We were with a large group, so a romantic setting was not part of the equation. It did get pretty loud towards 9pm. The upside is you're not cramped and there's a lot of windows. The service was good. Parking was a nightmare. The food was average both in price, quality, and ingenuity for DC. There are certainly more interesting places to go for the money. But if you're staying in the hotel it's pleasant enough to keep you hanging around at a table or the well stocked bar for a little while.

Unfortunately my estimations were higher than the reality. Ugly souless bland corporate office decor in a non descript office type setting. We ordered brunch and whilst most and i say most was competently executed if underwhelming a few things really let the side down. This place is not cheap so i expected perfect execution and the following items were not. GF coffee cakes.. not sure if they were supposed to taste of coffee or cinnamon or...anything but the reality was they were bland, dull and quitw frankly boring as f**k.. Next the pork belly bahn mi.. tough pre cooked belly dry and suffering from an over saturation of gloppy thick mayonnaise monstrosity that made it quite unedible. I did mention these things to our server who nodded at the correct places like the well behaved minion however have very little faith she passed the feedback on. The final nail in the coffin was the again boring, dully baked goods product that was a blueberry muffin. We counted 4 Blueberrys in the whole thing. As a party we are glad we tried it but we all agreed nothing would push us to return. In a city of infinite brunch destinations quite frankly save your money and go somewhere else!

I was so excited to get crab cakes. It’s my go to in DC. Service was excellent and the place has a nice positive vibe. BUT the crab cake was full of chives and scallions. Yuck. I would prefer none but I’ve managed to deal with others with less chives or scallions. It tasted more like an onion cake than a crab cake. It did have beautiful lump crab but it was overwhelmed with the green onions.

Friends and I needed a place to catch up and have dinner. Blue Duck has a lovely outdoor seating area that was perfect. They were very gracious in that we met at about 3 pm and wanted to hang and catch up through dinner. Blue Duck let us stay there when they weren’t serving and then provided us a wonderful dinner. We basically made our own tasting menu. It was fabulous and the service was quite good.

3.0 star rating 9/5/2022 we had breakfast here a few times while staying at the hotel. The service was ridiculously slow and honestly bad... we didn't even know who our waiter/waitress was as barely anyone would come by. When we would inquire about our food, they would say they would check and then they would never return. Service like this is not acceptable for such an expensive restaurant...if this was a one off ok, but we thought service and food was lacking throughout our stay.
