LOULOU New York Reviews from The Last Year

We came here for brunch and everyone in our group had a different experience. Two of us got coffee and said it was delicious. I got a Bloody Mary and while it was decent it tasted watery. For food, one person ordered the steak and eggs and raved about the steak and the potatoes that came with it! Another ordered the frittata and said it was very good! I ordered the steak sandwich with fries and it left a lot to be desired. The steak was really fatty and chewy to the point where I had to leave a lot of pieces on the plate that I wasn't able to chew. And the fries were a huge let down. The image of the fries on the menu was no where near what came out. They tasted and looked identical to any frozen fries you get at the grocery store with no seasoning. They were also severely undercooked and were wilting over the edge of the basket. So I would just avoid the fries and go with something more normal for breakfast with eggs! Also, I would probably order one of the speciality cocktails since that seems like what they were known for.

Jogged from midtown to Chelsea for the sole purpose of drinking cool cocktails at a bar and came upon Loulou. I was immediately drawn in by the chic clientele and attractive servers; this place is definitely a vibe. My first cocktail, the Patron-based Firebird, was fruity and refreshing and came served in a neat little bird glass. My next cocktail, the World is Yours, was equally inventive - a purple-hued gin and sake drink served in an orb. I was also very happy with the kale salad, which had just enough cheese-and-pecan heft to fortify me after the jog. Needless to say, the two cocktails had me a bit loose and I had to train back to midtown, instead of run. Well worth it.
Good food and drinks, music is loud but it was okay.
Service was friendly and quick. I would recommend :)
Trendy spot for brunch in Chelsea
Cool dining spot in Chelsea! Ate here for late brunch and the place was packed. Definitely make reservations on the weekends! Inventive craft cocktails and a focused menu provide bistro classics.
First things first, let's address the elephant in the room:
First things first, let's address the elephant in the room: Lou Lou charges an 89-cent fee if you use their QR code to pay. Yes, you read that right - you're paying to pay your bill. On top of their already expensive price points, this fee feels absolutely outrageous and knocks the experience down a peg. That said, there's plenty to admire about Lou Lou. The ambience feels like a warm hug from an old friend - cozy, inviting, and just the right amount of chic. The service is nothing short of stellar; both the bartender and the server exude genuine enthusiasm, as if they were born to make your day brighter. It's refreshing to see staff who not only perform their jobs well but also clearly enjoy what they do. The culinary highlight of my visit was the eggs Benedict, a classic brunch dish that Lou Lou executes with finesse. Perfectly poached eggs, rich hollandaise, and a well-seasoned base made for a delightful meal. Pair this with one of their expertly crafted drinks, and you're in for a treat that lingers in your memory long after the last bite. While Lou Lou excels in ambience, service, and cuisine, their peculiar payment policy is a sore point that mars an otherwise delightful brunch spot. For this reason, I'm knocking it down from four stars to three.

I recently dined at Loulou in New York, and I must say, Tahiri is an exceptional server who truly elevated our dining experience. From the moment we were seated, Tahiri's warm and welcoming demeanor made us feel right at home. She was incredibly attentive without being intrusive, ensuring our glasses were always filled and our needs promptly met. Speaking of the food, it was absolutely phenomenal. Every dish we tried was a masterpiece. The ingredients were fresh, and each plate was a perfect blend of textures and tastes. From appetizers to dessert, every bite was a delight.

The food at LouLou was absolutely amazing! We had the French Onion Soup and Ratatouille, it was exceptional! Our server, Tahiri's attentive and friendly service made our dining experience truly enjoyable. I would definitely recommend LouLou for a fantastic meal out!
Our server was Tahir, she was very sweet and welcoming.
She also gave us very good recommendations from the menu. Overall had a spectacular dinner.

Prefix menu is cheap affordable price, $55 for appetizer, entree, glass of wine. Kale salad and frisee were both good. Frisée was not well mixed in certain areas which had heavier salad dressing. Tuna sandwich was surprisingly good and refreshing. It had apple slices which evened out the oiliness. Burger was surprisingly bad. The burger itself was crumbly, with meat falling apart. Cheese fell right off the burger. The flavors were not well balanced. Fries were good and not oily.

Was here for Sunday funday brunch!!! Pitcher of Mojitos started us off, and was amazing! Egg frittata was delish, definitely recommend! Also need to give a special shout out to our incredibly delightful server- IGGY was so very kind and did a great job being attentive to our table the entire time we were there!

Made a reservation for my birthday and oh did I have the time of my life. The server was so funny and so helpful. They didn't have the quirky glasses for the Remy, so they added the rubber duck (haha). I thoroughly enjoyed my steak, and added truffle oil to my fries for a little pizazz. They were delicious. For dessert, we were recommend the croissant bread pudding (come free for parties of 6+). I'm always skeptical of bread pudding not in the south, but this was surprisingly really good. I absolutely adored my time here and I'm excited to try more of their menu!

It's the third time I visit Loulou and I'm always happy with the service and the food. We were helped by Iggy super friendly and great service. The food came super quick and everything was delicious.
Pretty fun cocktails.
Wasn't too busy when we walked in. The duck bathtub one I got was very sweet but decent.
This restaurant is delicious l.

Food was delicious, ambiance was cute & cozy euro with a packed house, and the service was the best. Michael D. was conscientious, funny, and generous with us. I would absolutely return for the tartare and the bread pudding dessert he recommended. It heals all pain (while it's still in front of you).

Finally tried this place as I organized a friend's birthday brunch last Saturday. Beautiful restaurant, the decor, the vibe, especially when it's a bright sunny day. We had one of the larger best tables indoors as I requested for a good table. Slater attended to us and he was friendly and took good care of our group. Most of our group had the steak and eggs combo which also came with fries. Pretty good but everyone immediately commented on such small portions compare to other brunch places. Taste was good though. As for me, I went for the burger that day thankfully and it was delicious. The cocktails were good and loved their presentation, I had Fire Bird which was tequila based and was refreshing! For dessert, we order Creme brulee which was nice but the real star of the show was the Croissant Pudding. We almost wanted to order another one but restrained ourselves lol. Overall bill was $433. Definitely not cheap, but worth trying. Looking forward to going back for dinner. Merci, LOULOU.
Nice restaurant on Eight Avenue near 14th Street.
Nice atmosphere. Good food. Our server Rodrigo was excellent.

I really wanted to love this place but unfortunately, the experience fell short. I came here on a Saturday night with a group of 6 people. The restaurant is beautiful, dim lit, and romantic. We were seated at a half circle table booth which would've been perfect for 4 people, however we were 6. It was so squished! We asked to be seated at a bigger table and the hostess was not super helpful, offering us to sit outside instead. Our server, Michael, was absolutely fantastic and told us if we wait a bit he can have us moved to a bigger table which he quickly did. Things happen but we had a reservation for 6 so not sure why that had us assigned to a tiny table to begin with. We started with ordering some of their signature cocktails which were all tasty and beautiful; the presentation really made it an experience with the drinks. Our group decided to get appetizers and share so we ended up ordering most of the appetizers on their menu. Potato leak soup- 10/5!!!! This was the absolute star of the entire meal for many of us. It comes with smoked trout. The flavors are so unique but perfectly balanced. I can't recommend this enough. Frisée salad-3/5. This was a basic frisée; nothing bad and nothing special. Merguez- 4/5. This was pretty good, I especially liked the balance between the slight spice in the sausage and freshness of the green sauce. Mussels- 3/5. These would have been great but 60% of the mussels were empty... maybe more. The sauce was so yummy, we enjoyed some of the bread dipped in sauce just wish there was actually mussels in the shells. Octopus-2.5/5. It was inconsistently cooked - some parts were nice and charred while others were undercooked. Escargot-3/5. Not bad, not good. The sauce was a little lackluster in terms of seasoning. Texture was fine, I would have liked it be be a bit more buttery as far as texture. Baked camembert- 4.5/5. Our group thoroughly enjoyed this! You definitely need to eat it right away to get that delicious gooey warm cheese texture. It is complemented with a lavender honey that enhances its flavor and several bread crisps. Steak tartar- 4/5. It only came with one piece of bread which is laughable- it's an appetizer!! Not the most "shareable" plate. The steak itself was fresh and seasoned well. Fois gras- 5/5. Rich, creamy, delectable, buttery dish! A French staple well done. Grilled shishito peppers- 5/5. Incredible!! These weren't your basic grilled shishitos, they had a lovely kick of lemon which leveled up the flavor. Truffle fries- 4.5/5. A basic good truffle fry- you can't go wrong! Perfectly crisp. Now, for the dessert! WOW! The croissant pudding was one of the most unique and excellent desserts I have had in a long time. It almost tasted like a chocolate chip cookie, monkey bread, and croissant mixture with a generous scoop of ice cream. This is an absolute must try; I would consider returning just to get this dessert! We also ordered the apple tart which some of the apple lovers in the group said is the best apple dessert they've ever tried. This restaurant does dessert right! The service from Michael was amazing throughout our entire dining experience. He was attentive, helpful, and knowledgeable. It was really the food that fell short for our group (excluding the dessert). This restaurant has potential and if you do happen to find yourself dining at LOULOU, try the leak soup and dessert options - those will not disappoint!
May 4th just left after 6 star service.
our sever was Rodrigo ,by far best person for our large party. He was so attentive and patient. He went above and beyond to meet the various request from each of the 12 members. To handle each guest with a smile.
Was there celebrating a coworker's birthday Tuesday.
What started out as a good time changed quickly. The steak was overcooked. As a resolution, the manager offered free dessert and drinks for the table. They gave us crème brûlée without asking if we prefer that. The birthday girl can't eat it. She requested the bread pudding instead. We were charged for it plus a $75 fee for a large table. There was only four of us! The manager did remove the dessert and "large" table charges afterwards. We never got those free drinks. On top of that, the waiter ignored us after a certain point. He didn't even come back with the bill. We had to ask another staff member for it. Not that prices should equate to the level of service but for the amount we paid, I expected better than that. It's a one and done. Not going back.
I enjoyed my drink but I've had better cocktails for less.
In a city with elite cocktail offerings, I do admit, I was expecting more. When I'm ready to spend $100 on 3 cocktails, I'll come back and try some of their others. Service was good and the restaurant/bar looked cool on the inside.

This is my new favorite restaurant! Delicious authentic French cuisine in a modern atmosphere. The escargot, mussels and lamb chops were incredible. Superb service. Such an inviting place!!
Food and service was pretty good.
I got the croissant French toast and bacon and it slapped

My parents and I went to dinner and left with food poisoning from the oysters. Been violently ill since, not impressed at all.
Fine, good enough, not horrible.
If you've been to France, you will not find Loulou authentic, or particularly well executed. The food is fine, the service is excellent, the ambiance is lovely. Definitely overpriced for what it is. Baby beet salad was flavorless, except for the strange mustard grain aftertaste. Unsalted as well. Duck confit was good, celery root puree was too. It was the best part of the meal. Mussel sauce was good, but mussels were overcooked and rubbery. Sancerre on the menu is always good... It wasn't a disaster, but I don't need to go back.

A colleague and I came here for a Sunday night dinner, and this is such a happening spot with amazing drinks and food! The restaurant was not busy when we arrived around 6:30pm, but then by the time we left at 10pm, it was so busy! We ordered several dishes to share, such as the baked Camembert, roasted beets salad, brussels sprouts and a whole roasted branzino. All of the dishes were so delicious! And to top it off, the drinks were delicious! I order an adorable drink that was served in a bathtub, and it came with a mini-duck which I was able to keep as a souvenir! We ended up staying for 3+ hours chatting the night away, and the servers were attentive and did not rush us at all, which I appreciate. Only downside to our experience was that the speakeasy bar next door was closed on Sundays. Guess we'll have to return!
i finally got to see their speakeasy.
10/10 the band on monday night was very talented i loved the music and the libertan cocktail. it felt like i time traveled, especially because of the entrance.

Let me start by saying the place is super cute and has great vibes, both indoor and outdoor. Very "instagrammable" environment, but classy. The servers were very friendly too. The food we got was all pretty good, and their coffee and tea drinks were delicious. But the highlight for me, the dog-friendly atmosphere indoors and outdoors, and they even have a doggy menu! I love that for people who have well-behaved friendly dogs! Hopefully, we will be back, I know my dog would love to come back too!
Went here for brunch and had the croissant French toast.
It was so good! Crunchy on the outside, soft inside and I could control how sweet it was since the syrup was on the side. Americano was flavorful, not watery. I thought the prices were reasonable as well, especially for the portion sizes given. We sat in the little outside seating area which was nice and warm. Our server Rifat was very attentive. Overall a wonderful experience!
Stylish French Bistro Serving Up Great Cocktails for a Late-Night Drink
Loulou is a stylish French bistro in Chelsea that serves up some excellent cocktails often in unique glasses. Stopped in for some late-night drinks. Our waiter had a great sense of humor yet was also a professional. Attractive restaurant/bar that was atmospheric and with good vibes.
Mediocre food, poor service. Avoid.
Extremely unpleasant overall. Welcomed by a surly host. Mediocre but very expensive food (ridiculous charcuterie platter for example) and very questionable service. Overall a terribly mediocre restaurant, best avoided.
Best French brunch in NYC
LouLou was such a wonderful brunch spot! The best thing about the experience was the service, LouLou had many typical brunch classics (like steak and eggs or pancakes) while bringing in some French spins (like, my personal favorite, the niçoise salad). Vibe was amazing! Really good crowd and music. Cocktails are very delicious and creative. Fun brunch for big group celebrations!

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!
This app is life changing
This app has opened my world up to so many wonderful new experiences I would never have the chance to have without access to this awesome app! 10/10!
Worked perfectly
Was a little nervous at first but was pleased to see that the booking went through flawlessly.
Highly recommended.
Success on Short Notice
Was able to snag an indoor table at Don Angie through an absolutely seamless worry-free process.

This is a crazy holiday season in NYC and I was very pleasantly surprised to see that AppointmentTrader works! Will be using again!

Quick table in Miami
I didn’t have my hopes high as it was a party of 4. In 24 hours I had a carbone reservation available! I was very happy as my family really wanted to come here
Prime time, great meal

Worked perfectly to get into Carbone. So delighted
perfect
Worked well, got me into a restaurant with no availability
I was skeptical, and I still don't really know how they managed to find this hard-to-find reservation, but it was a win-win from my point of view, and I'll use this service again.
Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.
Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
Payouts Blocked Because of Sell Through Rate
Does anyone know how AT plans to handle cases where a seller is quitting the platform but has a sell through rate <25%? The error message I got said to fill more bids or find other ways to increase the rate.
Is AT really going to block sellers from withdrawing their money? Especially revenue made before the sell through rate was introduced??
Tune into NBC News - Top Story Tonight 7:40p ET
Let’s go. Get more people placing bids!
I will give you 50% of ALL of my PROFITS if you teach me how to make profits?
LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.
Appointment
Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil
🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🧨🧨🧨 now on to 30 mill!
Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
