Without question- the best meal of the trip! We were skeptical the food/service could be as good as advertised, but Mama's did an incredible job. The Kanpachi was absolutely incredible! We also really enjoyed the Macidenia Mahi Mahi. The waiter(young gentleman from West Texas) was very friendly and had great recommendations for our group. Finally the deserts were fantastic. Thanks for a great meal!

Looks like their success has gone to their heads - stopped by last Friday mid-afternoon for a drink at the bar and the "guards" ran us out of the parking lot - "NO ROOM HERE" they said - you can leave and try later....I guess you have to give them Kudos for popularity - but their attitude sucks big-time. It looks like the lady "Gatekeeper" at the front desk takes quite the pleasure out of sending potential customers away....We won't be back.

Used facilities after my meal and was very pleased! The decor reminded me my childhood growing up on the country side and coming down to Hawaii with my momma and pa. The only complaint I have is that the stalls were a wee bit tight for my liking. Other than that, it was extremely cleanly and very cute Onto the food. My meal was delicious! I got some sort of white fish called Kanpachi, with rice and it was to die for! Absolutely loved it, and I'm a picky eater.Service was perfect! Waitress came over to the table perfect amount of times and she was so very kind. Love this place and I will definitely come back. Amazing fish house.

Was good for the hype and one time visit, had a few things which were overlooked like a birthday celebration which didn't get acknowledged. We also had the very last reservation of the evening and it seemed to our group that the waiter really just wanted to get home, wasn't as attentive as we expected for this type of establishment. Food was very good but the cost was really high for a 5 star restaurant in general. Won't be back next time we visit Maui but can say we visited. Really loved the decor and artwork. The pie was the best order on the menu. Heard from locals the pearl dessert is overhyped and the flavor of the chocolate pie was incredible. It was true! Would recommend this place for a first time visit if you're able to get reservations, otherwise you're ok if you miss it. They could use a couple more non-fish entree options and perhaps another kids option as well.

This was by far my favorite day on Maui, and we had a whole lot of great experiences. It was magic from the first moment. After the initial checkin, we walked down to the beach and the restaurant, seeing from the outside Mamas Fish House. Charming is enough of a word, perfection comes close. I loved that the restaurant isn't massive, but busy and hopping. the decor was perfect, just right for a beach restaurant, but with unusual and lovely touches, like the carved wood benches, and canvas roof in one room. And the food? Ive been throwing around a lot of perfects, but starting with a ginger cocktail, to the fish, to the desert, everything just seemed to be in sync. fresh beautiful, but not fussy flower arrangements complimented everything, and yes, the music was just right. a delightful combination of Hawaiian traditional music, and fun 60 and 70s jazz. I would go back to Maui just for this experience

Go before 11am opening time if you don't have reservations, since they're booked 4+ months in advance. Drive to valet your car, then ask valet if there is availability. They will tell you if there is. They'll give you a ticket for your car. Give that to the hostess. They'll have openings at the bar area, and you'll be seated and ready for a truly incredible culinary experience. From the drinks to the appetizers, to the main courses, dessert and French pressed coffee, it is something to behold. Do yourself a favor & just go here without a reservation around10:30-10:45am for a once in a lifetime experience. Afterwards you can walk the grounds to the beach and soak in your morning. Pricey but worth it!!

Mama's Fish House lives up to the hype! You are not just here to eat, you are here to eat it all up- the scene, the service and the food. We got here an hr and a half before sunset so aloha beautiful ocean view and island ambiance. Appetizer, mushroom bisque, house bread, fish entrees and dessert were all delicious. My only change is more liquor to our adult drinks. They were a bit watered down and I'm not a fan of paying for overpriced ice.

Let's start from the beginning, it is extremely difficult to get a reservation here but if you do manage to it's well worth it! Typically they say they are booked out 6 months in advance but we were lucky enough to call 1 week prior to see if there was any cancellations and we managed to get a table.The entrance requires valet parking which is complimentary. The restaurant is in a very scenic location so be sure to take many pictures.The menu changes day to day and also the fish is caught fresh so the type of fish varies. We ordered the Mahi Mahi in a Macadamia nut crust with lobster, it also came with asparagus and mash potatoes. We also ordered the Grand Banks Scallops which came with a Mushroom risotto. Both dishes were excellent and extremely delicious - as you would expect! Prior to our mains we received complimentary bread and a small soup.For dessert we ordered the Black Pearl which not only is aesthetically pleasing to the eye but extremely tasty!All in all an amazing experience when visiting Maui.

I’ve been coming to Mamas for about 10 years and I finally decided to do a review. Mamas is simply the best of anywhere time and time again. Excellent service coupled with superb quality ingredients and ambiance makes for the perfect dining experience if you can get a reservation. We typically make a mamas reservation, then plan our flights to Maui, the whole trip revolves around it and it’s worth every penny.

Decided to give this place a try after hearing about all the hypes. This place is usually booked so if you are reserving online will need about 6 months in advance. If you missed it, then your best bet is to call. We were fortunate to reserve via phone about a month prior to our visit. The location is easy to find. Valet parking on site. Service was good, everyone was attentive and polite. Food was served Slightly slow in pace, however you're there to enjoy the scenery and the ambience. So it was not an issue. Bread was nice and fresh. The butter that went with the bread was extremely creamy We also got a free sample cream of broccolini soup, this was super tasty. Creamy and flavorful with rich after taste Ordered the mahi mahi, and scallop dish. Food was very tasty. Flavorful. Scallop with the risotto was seasoned perfectly. The tomato based sauce was savory and tasty. Mahi fish cooked with curry flavor also really worked. Overall the dishes were cooked to our satisfaction Dessert was on another level. Ordered the lilikoi crème Brûlée. Wow , one of the best crème brûlée that I've had. Highly recommend Definitely impressed with the food here. Great way to end our trip to Maui. Would recommend any tourist to visit this restaurant. It did live up to the hype.

I took my wife to Hawaii to celebrate our 10th anniversary, and I asked several locals, and almost all of them said this restaurant. It convinced me, so I took my wife to this place, and it did not disappoint me. Their valet service treated us as if we were VIPs, and their front desk - did the same thing. The host took us to our table with the best view, and then we were greeted by several people. I felt so welcomed, then I saw the menu - very few items I like - less stress. We ordered several things, and I loved each bite, and then I realized I had eaten it all. My wife and I enjoy every moment. Be ready to spend some money if you are up for a great one. Worth every penny.

If a restaurant experience can transport you to a different world, touch all your senses, and have you feel all sorts of great emotions, you just have to tip your hat and applaud all the hard work. I took a ton of pics in sheer admiration. The details - Wow. The lighting, wall art, smiles from everyone, glassware, plate garnishes, booth design, epic beach view, and (of course) their food. Everyone knows it's. It easy but this place has it all lined up. Highly recommend if ever in Maui.

One of my favorite restaurants on the island and an absolute must stop on every trip to Maui. The food, service and views/ambience are spectacular. I'd highly recommend making a reservation months in advance. Our sever was great, helpful and explained the menu in full detail, and was so happy and excited to share some amazing dishes with us.The menu is pricey but everything is caught locally and served fresh daily. The menus actually share in detail the fisherman, the depth of which the fish was caught, and where precisely the fish was caught. I started the meal off with a Mai Tai, one of the best of the island. It doesn't have that juice/sugary taste to it, but all fresh and rum! We had the shrimp won tons to start, which were yummy, and I had the daily special, which was a macadamia nut crusted mahi with a lobster tail.It was absolutely delicious and after an incredible meal, we were able to hang out on their beach area, which was beautiful and not crowded. I would highly recommend this spot for tourists, big families/parties and for celebrating special events.

If you are able to get a reservation @ Mama’s, book it. The food was delicious. We went with 4 adults and 6 kids. The kids menu is small, but all were happy. All four adult’s food was outstanding. I had Mama’s Curry, which had 3 local fish in tasty curry sauce. Very cool atmosphere as well.

It’s little wonder this restaurant has received every culinary accolade. On the Road to Hana, just beyond the cute little town of Pai’a, Mama’s is right on the water’s edge. A really romantic setting, the restaurant is reminiscent of a (very sophisticated) fish house. Service is exceptional. Gracious hosts and attentive table service. The servers give a complete explanation of all dishes on the menu.
The food is so good. Indescribable!!!
As the name suggests, Fish is the order of the day, though meat is there, too. Cocktails are incredible and there is a small, but impressive wine list. I have to compliment the pastry chef on the dessert of a Tahitian Pearl Mousse. (Hope I got that right). Decadent and oh, so delicious. You cannot ( I believe) fail to have an incredible meal here in one of Maui’s best restaurants.
My special thanks (Mahalo) to Bill and his staff for their help and their generous service. It was a great night and I can’t wait to go back.

So many of our friends recommended Mama’s Fish House upon finding out my husband & I were going to Maui. The restaurant was fully booked 5 months out so we weren’t able to get a reservation on our own, but thankfully we have a friend who was able to get us in. You must book really early!

It is absolutely a full experience eating here. The restaurant is decorated beautifully & the view is spectacular. The service was impeccable and the food & drinks were delicious. As this was kind of a once in a lifetime experience, we went balls out. A couple drinks a piece, two appetizers to try, we split a salad & we each had an entree, to the tune of $400, incl. tip.

Food was really good, no doubt. But we couldn’t justify the prices. Our all time favorite restaurant in the Bay Area is much better than Mama’s and about 1/3 the price.

All in all, I’m glad we had the experience of dining at Mama’s once, but I wouldn’t need to do it again.

We have been there several times and always a wonderful experience. The staff is great and the food is excellent! We normally don’t have an appetizer, main course and dessert, but everything is so good it is hard to pass it up. It is hard to get a reservation so make sure you book early enough. It will be worth the wait and travel time from the other side of the island. It is a nice relaxing time with very good food. I would highly recommend going there for lunch or dinner.

We lucked out and got a table at Mamas last minute, mid afternoon. I can’t say enough about the ambience and everything about this place. Staff was fantastic, scene and views were awesome, and the food was out of this world. Splurged on the lobster stuffed Mahi special and it was the best meal I’ve ever had. My son had the Ahi, Mahi, and Ono curry which was also incredible. Will be back. Mahalo!

Traveled with 2 other couples & our highlight meal was at Mama's Fish House. Great restaurant tucked away by a private little beach. The atmosphere was beautiful, we had the best seat in the house & the food was outstanding. I also need to mention that the staff is friendly, attentive & funny. Spectacular, both visually and in taste and texture, our Mama’s experience was one we’ll remember for a long time. Service was attentive and so delightful. The special of the day included a lobster tail; indescribably delicious. The vegan choice was a tofu with caramelized Maui onions. The oysters and the Black Pearl dessert were stunning.

Best Meal I’ve ever eaten! We ordered the beef in the papaya, arugula salad, beef short rib & lobster tail and mahi mahi and the Chocolate mousse pearl. Everything was amazing- the atmosphere, the view, service, drinks and especially the food. The beef in the papaya appetizer do so good we ordered one to go and ate the next day. The pear dessert was more beautiful in person than in any online pics. It was the best mousse I’ve ever eaten. I would highly recommend.

Our waiter set the pace for the meal- made knowledgeable recommendations which was very helpful. The sushimi my husband got as an appetizer was incredibly good and I normally don't go near sushimi. My husband got the special- stuffed Mahi Mahi- and I got Mahi Mahi cooked to my liking. Both meals were extraordinary. This is fine dining the way it should be done. I highly recommend you try and get here on your trip to Maui.

Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!

As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.

Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?

Best Answer It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!

Best Answer Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.

Best Answer Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.

Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?

Best Answer Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.

What happens if my bid expires unanswered?

Best Answer Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
