Superlatives donโt even come closeโฆ
Itโs little wonder this restaurant has received every culinary accolade. On the Road to Hana, just beyond the cute little town of Paiโa, Mamaโs is right on the waterโs edge. A really romantic setting, the restaurant is reminiscent of a (very sophisticated) fish house. Service is exceptional. Gracious hosts and attentive table service. The servers give a complete explanation of all dishes on the menu.
The food is so good. Indescribable!!!
As the name suggests, Fish is the order of the day, though meat is there, too. Cocktails are incredible and there is a small, but impressive wine list. I have to compliment the pastry chef on the dessert of a Tahitian Pearl Mousse. (Hope I got that right). Decadent and oh, so delicious. You cannot ( I believe) fail to have an incredible meal here in one of Mauiโs best restaurants.
My special thanks (Mahalo) to Bill and his staff for their help and their generous service. It was a great night and I canโt wait to go back.

Wonderful experience but definitely overpriced
So many of our friends recommended Mamaโs Fish House upon finding out my husband & I were going to Maui. The restaurant was fully booked 5 months out so we werenโt able to get a reservation on our own, but thankfully we have a friend who was able to get us in. You must book really early!
It is absolutely a full experience eating here. The restaurant is decorated beautifully & the view is spectacular. The service was impeccable and the food & drinks were delicious. As this was kind of a once in a lifetime experience, we went balls out. A couple drinks a piece, two appetizers to try, we split a salad & we each had an entree, to the tune of $400, incl. tip.
Food was really good, no doubt. But we couldnโt justify the prices. Our all time favorite restaurant in the Bay Area is much better than Mamaโs and about 1/3 the price.
All in all, Iโm glad we had the experience of dining at Mamaโs once, but I wouldnโt need to do it again.

Always a Wonderful Experience at Mamaโs
We have been there several times and always a wonderful experience. The staff is great and the food is excellent! We normally donโt have an appetizer, main course and dessert, but everything is so good it is hard to pass it up. It is hard to get a reservation so make sure you book early enough. It will be worth the wait and travel time from the other side of the island. It is a nice relaxing time with very good food. I would highly recommend going there for lunch or dinner.

Best meal and restaurant experience ever
We lucked out and got a table at Mamas last minute, mid afternoon. I canโt say enough about the ambience and everything about this place. Staff was fantastic, scene and views were awesome, and the food was out of this world. Splurged on the lobster stuffed Mahi special and it was the best meal Iโve ever had. My son had the Ahi, Mahi, and Ono curry which was also incredible. Will be back. Mahalo!
๐
An amazing experience
Traveled with 2 other couples & our highlight meal was at Mama's Fish House. Great restaurant tucked away by a private little beach. The atmosphere was beautiful, we had the best seat in the house & the food was outstanding. I also need to mention that the staff is friendly, attentive & funny. Hope to go back someday and highly recommend it.

Spectacular, both visually and in taste and texture, our Mamaโs experience was one weโll remember for a long time. Service was attentive and so delightful. The special of the day included a lobster tail; indescribably delicious. The vegan choice was a tofu with caramelized Maui onions. The oysters and the Black Pearl dessert were stunning.
Best Meal Iโve ever eaten! We ordered the beef in the papaya, arugula salad, beef short rib & lobster tail and mahi mahi and the Chocolate mousse pearl. Everything was amazing- the atmosphere, the view, service, drinks and especially the food. The beef in the papaya appetizer do so good we ordered one to go and ate the next day. The pear dessert was more beautiful in person than in any online pics. It was the best mousse Iโve ever eaten. I would highly recommend.
Our waiter set the pace for the meal- made knowledgeable recommendations which was very helpful. The sushimi my husband got as an appetizer was incredibly good and I normally don't go near sushimi. My husband got the special- stuffed Mahi Mahi- and I got Mahi Mahi cooked to my liking. Both meals were extraordinary. This is fine dining the way it should be done. I highly recommend you try and get here on your trip to Maui.

Best meal we have ever had!!
Everything was top notch...the food, the service and the atmosphere. The food, Mai tais and wine was amazing!! Our waiter Dominck was so helpful and friendly. He even gave us some tips about stuff on the island. We would definitely come back next time we visit Maui.
๐
One of the best Restaurants in Maui.
One of the best restaurants in Hawaii and quite frankly the United States. Go to mamas every time you visit Maui which is been several times. Food atmosphere service and cocktails are exceptional. I would recommend highly to anyone visiting Maui

Mamaโs a Sure Bet on Maui!
We had heard a lot about Mamaโs Fish House long before we arrived on Maui. We were able to get a reservation on a Saturday afternoon. We found the food and service to be excellent!!! I enjoyed the fresh seafood catch stuffed with lobster along side a mini lobster tail. My wife enjoyed crab cakes. Both entrees were super deliciousโPERIOD!!! We also enjoyed the bread and the chefโs special dipping sauce/soup.
For dessert we shared the Crรจme Brรปlรฉeโequally delicious!
Bottom line, it is worth the effort to make it to Mamaโs. In fact, we stopped back in after our road-trip to Hana the following Tuesday. Need I say more!
We ended up going with a big group at the last minute and the hostess was able to merge our reservations. Food was amazing!
The food, atmosphere and service was out of this world amazing. We booked three months in advance for a 2:15 PM meal as nothing was available later in the day. Yes, would recommend booking six months in advance for evening reservations. This establishment will not disappoint, beautiful setting!!
If you come to Maui you must come to Mamas! From the moment the valet gets your car to the moment you are seated at your table-everything is amazing and the staff all looked happy to be there. The food was delicious-even the bread was soft and warm. Snag an evening reservation and watch the sunset if you can. It was an amazing experience for my husband and me.

Donโt miss this top restaurant in the USA. Itโs delicious!
My husband and I consider ourselves foodies. We understand why Mamaโs is considered one of the top restaurants in the US. It was definitely one of the best meals my husband and I have ever eaten. The seafood was fresh and delicious. The venue is breathtaking. The staff were top notch. We shared the appetizer ,Macadamia Nut Crab Cakes. I had the Ono with Hamakua mushrooms, garlic, white wine and capers.
My husband had the Big Island Kanpachi stuffed with lobster and baked in a Macadamia crust. We shared the Chocolate Pie baked in the Carmel Cookie Crust. We will definitely visit again when we return to Maui.
๐
Best dinner we ever had
We were lucky enough to find a 5 spot in our visit to Maui , i can describe how incredibly was the whole thing from the place, service and food
I have always had a personal rule - I donโt want to wait hours for a bite to eat, nor would I make a reservation for Any restaurant months ahead of time.
So, I never made it to Mamaโs.
This trip, we just went by Mamas on our way to Hana and casually stopped by and ask if there is a table for 6 for lunch.
They did have a table for us on a Friday for lunch. We stayed and had lunch there.
Well, I have to say the food was great !!!
We all enjoyed our dishes. The freshly made bread was amazing!
Good service. Great food!
Yeah, I will make reservations months ahead so we can have dinners here!

It's famous because it's so darn GOOD!
I was at Mama's in 1996. This year....no wonder it's a top restaurant on Maui. The beach location, the FOOD, the staff, just the vibe if all the happy people glad to be there! Shrimp wonton, stuffed fish with lobster, mai tai, but for us the black pearl desert....I could eat this dessert every day. This place does everything correctly. (a very cooperative turtle even showed up on the reef rocks).
Absolutely loved celebrating my birthday at Mamaโs Fish House. The staff went out of their way to make sure that I had a wonderful meal and felt special. I had an amazing meal starting with a sample of their Mushroom soup and an appetizer before my entree of Fish Curry. When preparing the dish, Mamaโs uses three types of fresh fish. So ono!
We finished our meal with a complimentary dessert.
Mahalo nui Loa for the great oceanfront table and fantastic service. You rock!
๐
Go for lunch; make a day of it!
When we booked Momma's in January 2022, only lunch reservations were available for our April visit. Rather than miss out, we jumped on a noon reservation, and we're so glad we did! In daylight, you can really appreciate the beautiful surroundings--the north shore surf and the open air restaurant. After a relaxing (and very expensive) lunch, we spent an hour or two poking around the rather funky boutiques in Paia. Good entertainment and a fun way to spend a vacation day on Maui!
๐
Fabulous anniversary dinner!
My husband and I had an out-of-this-world experience at Mama's Fish House. A couple of days before our dinner, the restaurant emailed me to ask if we were going to be celebrating anything special and I responded that it was our 20th wedding anniversary. When we arrived at the absolutely gorgeous restaurant, we were given a table with a spectacular view of the ocean. There was a lovely card waiting at our table wishing us a happy anniversary. And it only got better from there! The food was delicious but even more impressive was the service, led by Stephanie. Everyone there helped make it a wonderful evening for us!

The hype is real! We heard from literally everyone who we
The hype is real! We heard from literally everyone who we told we were coming to Maui that Mama's was the place to go. Had open table reminders for everyday on the trip and finally snagged a 2pm lunch. The view, service and ambiance were amazing - they even print cute cards congratulating you if you're celebrating something. Now, to the food... get the papaya beef - sounded a bit odd, but sooo tasty! Octopus was really good to, but nothing sรบper original. Im pregnant so couldn't get the sashimi appetizer but it looked amazing. For main, the most popular is the fished stuffed in lobster topped with Macademia nuts - delicious! My husband got the curry and it was AMAZING, not as many reviews had it recommended but it's so flavorful! Now dessert, we're chocolate people so we got the two chocolate options. The pearl chocolate taste as good as it looks - get it! The chocolate pie was delicious too! If your still reading this, go get your reservations!

If this is the first time you're coming to Maui, Mama's is
If this is the first time you're coming to Maui, Mama's is a definite must go! If you have your trip planned out 3-6 months in advance, make the reservation for her asap. Reservations for lunch are booked out 3 months in advanced and for dinner, 6 months in advanced. If you're like me and decide on a trip like a month in advanced, you'll probably need to walk in and grab a table at the bar. Their bar seating is not what you'd typically expect, it's to the side of the restaurant and you'll most likely have a view of the parking lot out back but hey, at least you're in right? That's what I did, walked in for a bar seat at around noon and was seated immediately. The restaurant is on the shore of one of the beaches and just walking into the restaurant, you will not believe your eyes. There are palm trees with a nice sand area and a full ocean view. I was stunned at how beautiful it was.Once seated, we were greeted immediately and was given a brief intro into the menu as it was our first time. We ended up ordering the oysters and Haleakala beef in a grilled papaya for appetizers, celebration champagne brunch and mai tai for drinks. The oysters came with a lilikoi mignonette and it was so refreshing with the oysters. One of the waitresses came by and gave this glass bottle with "spicy water" inside and we were told to add a few drops to the oysters. I wanted to take this spice back home with me. It provided a little spice without being too overpowering to the oysters. It was definitely very light. You have to try the Haleakala beef because the beef was so tender and juicy. And don't get me started with the papaya. Literally every part of the papaya was scooped out. The papaya was lightly grilled so the grill marks were apparent and just added a nice touch to the dish. For entrees we were recommended the big island kanpachi stuffed with lobster and baked in a macadamia nut crust and the ahi and mahi-mahi Mama's curry. They provide a separate sauce dish for the curry which includes mango chutney and other sauces to pair with the dish. Both dishes were amazing and full of flavor. The curry was not heavy and was on the lighter side. Everything there was amazing, as well as the service. Would definitely go back whenever I'm back in Maui!

Excellent dining experience all around, many thanks to
Excellent dining experience all around, many thanks to raving recommendations from friends and strangers alike for pointing us to this place. Now let's be frank, it's not cheap to eat here. Not the most expensive place in Maui but it's pricy. Appetizers start at $20-24 and up and entrees start at least $60-70 ish. But what you get is a whirlwind of warm friendly customer service, freshest fish you'll ever taste and even complementary valet parking! And complementary amuse bouche with whole wheat poppy seed bread roll and cream of asparagus soup.My husband and I started our lunch with macadamia crab cakes ($30) which were so flavorful when paired with the tomato salsa it comes with. For entree my husband opted to go big on the Pacific Salmon Polynesia (salmon, rice, broccoli greens, and pan seared bananas) while I chose the coconut lobster soup. His salmon was so fresh it tasted actually sweet, and I appreciate that they didn't overcook it. The bananas were so fragrant and tasted almost like pineapple in flavor. My coconut lobster soup was both scrumptious and delicious! We both practically licked the bowl and plate squeaky clean. When in Maui definitely check out Mama's Fish House! Reservations highly recommended though we were able to get a table for two at the bar midday on a Monday.

So obviously the setting is absolutely gorgeous, a little
So obviously the setting is absolutely gorgeous, a little oasis on the beach with an unobstructed gorgeous picture perfect ocean view. However, I am not much of a fish eater at all, and on the rare occasion that I do try fish, and I use that term lightly as in try a little bite because if I get the tiniest whiff of fishy smell or taste, I'm out. Not to mention I have never ever previously ordered a fish entree for myself at any restaurant in my entire life. My husband likes fish and we had heard that this place was not to be missed. So I came with a mission to find a fish that I could eat and maybe even enjoy. Our waitress was amazing. Told her about my aversion to fish dishes and asked what she would recommend. She recommended 2 dishes. I ordered 1 and my husband ordered the other since he thought they both sounded good and he'd probably end up getting to eat most of mine so wi-win. Not exactly the case, while he did get to try mine, and thought it was the better of the 2, although both were amazing (yes, I even tried a bite of his) I ate and actually thoroughly enjoyed my dish. Anyone who knows me and how I feel about fish knows how impressive this statement is when I tell them that this fish dish is in my top 10 restaurant meals of my life (and we eat out a lot and enjoy fine dining when we travel). I myself would never have imagined in a million years that I would ever say that about a fish dish!!! So, excellent location, ambiance, friendly & helpful staff, great service, and amazing food. It is no wonder that the wait list is months long. If you are going to Maui, plan to make your reservations way in advance because Mana's Fish House is truly a destination/experience not to be missed!

Perfect meal to end our trip to Maui!We got lucky with
Perfect meal to end our trip to Maui!We got lucky with reservations - somehow arrived at 2pm to check for cancellations same day but instead had fast fingers on OpenTable and snatched up a cancellation for 2:30pm while we were waiting in the parking lot planning on our next move. The parking lot is mandatory valet and no sleeveless shirts allowed (the restaurant will provide you with a rental t-shirt). A great dining experience but it comes with a hefty bill in the end - it was worth it.We ordered dishes family style to share amongst our table of 4. We started with haleakala beef in a grilled Hana papaya, stellar bay oysters with lilikoi mignonette, and the kona lobster and coconut luau soup. For our 3 mains to share, we chose the opah, mahi-mahi stuffed with lobster and the ahi/ono/opah in mama's curry. The best dish of the day was the mahi-mahi. The lobster and macadamia nut crust was the perfect combination.Desserts are a must order, especially the Polynesian black pearl - it's Mama's famous dessert! Cocktails were great. Can't forget to mention that the service was impeccable. With the great weather, we were so happy to have picked up this reservation time last minute.

Mama's is a unique place.
It has an incredible location and beautiful (but cheesy-touristy) decor. The service is solid. Why only give it two stars then? Well, the food is incredibly, amazingly expensive. And it's not terrible, but it's definitely not good; think Cheesecake Factory flavors and quality.Borderline acceptable quality if the food was 1/3 the price, but just a complete rip-off at this price point. You can find much better food for far less money at any food truck on the island. If you must have a tacky overpriced Disney experience with everything deep fried, this is fine, I guess.
๐
This restaurant I can't even describe.
The gorgeous views alone were worth it. It was so pretty. The view from our table was perfection also. We loved it. We started with us all getting different flavors of smoothies and all five of us loved them all. So delicious. They gave us a sample of the mushroom soup and it was so tasty. The hubs said his main fish meal was the best he has ever had. Worth it right there. My two boys (age 7 and 11) are both really picky so they accommodated and gave us a plate of pulled pork with rice and veggies. Our amazing server also brought us a fresh plate of complimentary bread so the boys could make the pork into sandwiches. It was perfect. For dessert we got the chocolate pie and banana crisp. Both were great. We liked the chocolate a bit less, only because the chocolate was not as sweet (were a milk chocolate kind of family)! Overall, this was an incredible experience if you're willing to dive deep into those pockets to pay for it!!
๐
Hands down the best experience I had in Maui.
If I could give it 6 stars I would. Food is amazing and the staff of friendly and on point. Thanks again for the wonderful time.
๐
I have to say ย they were right about this place.
I am so curious why it's soooo booked 3-6 months ahead. I want to know how good it really is. We love to eat out, and here in SoCal ( Los Angeles and Orange County) we have so many good, fancy restaurants as well. So I really would like to compare, and seafood is my favorite thing. Luckily , my husband got a reservation for lunch booking it online. So I'm really looking forward to this!! Mama's Fish house lived up to the hype. I was afraid I might get disappointed but when all the dishes came,OMG from the appetizers, the main dish and the dessert. Food presentation is really 5 star and taste are equally amazing! And it's great portions too. It's very expensive but I already expected that, you're in Maui. My kids who are picky enjoyed and ate all their food. The bread is good and the complimentary soup. We ordered appetizers for the kids, we had shrimp wontons ( it looked like tempura ) and crab cakes. The crab cakes were very good. Both my kids who are picky ate them and they're not even a big fan of crab cakes. The main dish, I had Ahi with Maui caramelized onions, soooo goood. I forgot what my husband ordered, Mahi Mahi and lobster tail. Lobster tail was small, the fish was good. The dessert is suppppper good . My kids cleaned the whole plate. If you can make it to the reservation list, it's something that is worth visiting and going while you are there. Oh and we have a great view, and seating table facing the ocean.
๐
Mama's lived up to the hype which is hard to do.
We had the Ahi with carmelized onions and Short Ribs with Lobster Tails. So delicious, flavorful, fresh with wonderful presentation. Ribs were full not short ribs with a little meat and mostly bone. Service was excellent, atmosphere nice and a good blend of fine dining and casual. Only ding was my drink a Pina Colada which was not good, like at all.

One of the most beautiful restaurants we've ever
One of the most beautiful restaurants we've ever experienced! My wife and I enjoyed fantastic meals with a beautiful view and wonderful staff. I had the Bouillabaisse with Mahi-Mahi, Ahi, and Kanpachi, Maui shrimp, scallops, and shellfish in a sublime saffron fish broth. If you've had bouillabaisse before, this will probably top it because of the high quality fish, especially the Kanpachi! I will go on and on about Kanpachi from now on because it is so different with delicate meat and the unusual serving method Mama's used. See my photos to get a true picture of what I'm writing! My wife is not a big fish person, so she sticks to less fishy tasting fish, if that makes sense. So our lovely server Breanna recommended the Ahi, Mahi-Mahi, and Opakapaka Curry with mini-dishes of mango chutney, Hana banana (sounds like a future teen cooking TV show lol), macadamia nut pieces, and sambal hot chili paste (which is like a super-sriracha from Indonesia, but without sugar!) This dish was served with perfectly cooked small-grain white rice that soaked up all the flavors of the curry and mini-dishes. I almost swapped with my wife after having a bite, but she's not a bouillabaisse fan, although it wasn't because of the seafood, which she also enjoyed. Yes, this was a wonderful Experience from start to finish, but some will be shocked by the bill. Still, we went in knowing this was going to be pricey. Value for money, or as I like to call it: pleasure for price, is super high at Mama's. I believe it was worth every penny, so start saving if you're a foodie and enjoy the Aloha spirit, view, and food in one of the best places in Maui! My final comment is, again, specific to the food industry. Please support establishments like this that provide a fair wage for their staff. I was super-impressed, and glad to pay a bit extra, for the 4% fee that went straight to Kitchen staff. If you've never worked or just been in the kitchen for a few minutes during dinner service, just imagine working at the fastest pace in the hottest room with the most stress you've been under. That might be a little like what these talented people do to help us enjoy and relax with a great meal. Aloha and Mahalo to Mama's Fish House!!
๐
I was really looking forward to trying Mama's Fish House as
I was really looking forward to trying Mama's Fish House as it has such a sterling reputation on Maui, and since I live here I thought I had better cross it off the bucket list as some point. We booked a few months in advance for lunch on a Sunday and were happy to find out that our drive from the west side ended up in free valet parking. The valet and attendant were fantastic, friendly, showed us where we could rinse our feet off on our return after a walk on the beach and were very welcoming. Great start. The walk down to the restaurant reveals a small pretty beach with the usual gobsmackingly amazing views you find all around Maui. Postcard picture perfect with a palm tree slap bang in the centre for you to pose on for those instagram posts ;)When we joined the line to enter the restaurant there was 1 staff member helping everyone while 3 others stood ignoring customers while they looked at photos on their phones. Valets definitely won on the customer service front. We waited 5 mins and were shown to our seats.....worst seats in the house....all the way at the back right beside the servers post. All we heard during our entire meal was dishes being stacked and servers chatting behind the screen. I wasn't impressed but as the restaurant was full we didn't have any alternative. The servers almost made up for it with excellent service, we didn't have to ask for water or a refill for drinks, menu suggestions were given, and we were checked in on regularly. But I was still annoyed that we were in the worst seats in the restaurant. As it was lunch we decided on a main each and a dessert for Hubbs who has a sweet tooth. We chose:Mahi Mahi with mushrooms and capers cooked to perfection, soft but still slightly sticky and moist. There were 2 different types of mushrooms, roasted sweet potato, deliciously fresh carrots and green beans accompanying the fish, all in a delicate light white wine sauce. Opaka (which was the fish of the day) with caramelized Maui onions, bok choy and avocado which was equally delicious. The avocado was in a mousse/sauce form decorating one side of the plate, and again the fish was cooked to perfection. Lilikoi (passion fruit) creme brulee - it is quite a decent sized dessert, and is definitely one you should try if you like lilikoi. Tapping through the sugar brulee to the unctuous creamy custard was very satisfyingThe Mai Tai was very fruity with a little sourness, and Hubbs diet coke was refilled throughout the meal. Mama's is expensive so be prepared for a pricey bill. Bouillabaisse was $110 which is outrageous for a bowl of seafood soup. Our mains were $70 each. Cocktails between $22 to $30. Wines similar. While the view (if you are lucky enough to get one, ours was minimal where we were seated) is stunning, I don't think the restaurant standard is equivalent to the pricing. Think Duke's crossed with the Cheesecake Factory but with fish instead of cheesecake. Service is mainly good but it isn't silver service, and the restaurant is little tiki tacky touristy disneyesque for my liking. I think there are many other more authentic restaurants on Maui serving food which is just as good for reasonable prices with a stunning view too.
๐
It was an amazing experience being here with friends.
We pretty much shared our plates with each other; I was surprised I'd be full. The coffee was a really nice touch while eating dessert; I bought two bags of the whole beans to take home!
๐
This placed lives up to the hype.
Best lunch we've ever had. First, you will be struck by the beautiful setting and ambiance - quintessential (but upscale, yet not too stuffy!) Hawaiian, open air beach restaurant. Then, you are greeted by the friendliest, best service you could ask for. The servers go above and beyond. I save the best for last... the food! Wow, incredible seafood that is melt in your mouth good... we got the crab cakes, tomato salad, ahi with chips, mamas curry, and Tristan lobster tails. This is one of those meals you never forget. The curry was so unique and delicious, it comes with little toppings that give it a delightful extra pop of various flavors and textures. Everything was amazing though. Also, the drinks were wonderful too. I had the James Bond martini, my partner had a Lilikoi sour and hokia (?) martini. All perfectly executed. Go here, you won't regret it! Definitely coming back :)

Wow. ย Great end to our trip to Maui. ย We were lucky to
Wow. Great end to our trip to Maui. We were lucky to get a last minute table in the bar thru a local. This place did not disappoint. The ambiance was wonderful - flowers, music, sound of the surf. The service was friendly and efficient. The drinks were awesome. The best, however, was the food. Each bite was a delight. If you can, make a reservation far in advance to get one of the better tables but it is worth a try even if you are last minute.

I had reservations but then I almost skipped it because I could not have a table with an ocean view. But we decided to sit in the bar at a table top and it was amazing! Don't skip this just because you can't have an ocean view. Probably some of the best food I have ever eaten. The macadamia nut crusted crabcakes, the tomato and Maui onion salad, and the macadamia nut crusted mahi-mahi stuffed with lobster was mouthwatering!! Finalized it with amazing dessert! Don't let the price keep you away. It is worth every penny.

One of the best meals I've ever had.
The fish curry, omg. The banana crumble to finish, omg. My husband and I are stuffed after such an excellent meal. And impeccable service. 100% recommend enjoying a meal here.

Mama's Fish House was a legendary experience.
Be sure to get there before sunset, because the location of this restaurant is beautiful! We were seated and an anniversary card was waiting at our table. The food and our dining experience were phenomenal. I highly recommend you try the bouillabaisse (Mahi-Mahi, Ahi, Uku, Kauai shrimp, scallops in Mama's saffron fish broth). We will look forward to visiting again soon.

The food was incredible and the atmosphere is truly a work
The food was incredible and the atmosphere is truly a work of art - just beautiful. I am knocking down one star because I wish we would have been notified when we ordered that food was generally taking an hour to make. I would have reconsidered my order or at least had expectations managed. We first had drinks at the bar for about an hour, then sat down for dinner and we would have ordered much earlier if we had known about the delay. Instead we were waiting and waiting and finally had to ask what happened to our food as our bodies were getting sore from sitting for so long. By the time the food came, we actually weren't even hungry any more (partially also because of jet lag and getting tired) and that's not how you want to feel, especially when spending over $100 per person on dinner. Despite the huge potential for improved communication, I would consider coming back because I loved the food and decor so much. Even though I was not hungry anymore, I ate everything because it was delicious!
Several friends suggested and we were not disappointed. Great server and staff. Incredible, fresh fish. Lovely views.
๐
We celebrated my wife's birthday here.
Had to go at lunch, they book up really fast, so book your reservation 6 months in advance. The food was incredible the scenery is picturesque.Staff was wonderful and had a birthday card for my wife when we arrived a treat to end the meal with. If you are on Maui, this place should be on your list to visit.
๐
I would eat here everyday if I could.
I would return to Maui just to eat here. The food is outstanding - 99.9% of the seafood on the menu is caught that morning on Maui!! The grilled octopus was the most tender I've ever had in my life (and I order octopus whenever I see it on a menu). The chocolate pie - if you don't get it, you've missed the point of eating here. The service was stellar and we didn't have to wait long at all for our food. If you're lucky enough to have Dave take care of you, you will enjoy an unforgettable meal.
๐
It took months to get a reservation here and I was so
It took months to get a reservation here and I was so completely underwhelmed. We went for my husband's birthday on a Friday night in February. It was already dark so we weren't able to enjoy the great views this place is known for, only the food. Our server was GREAT. I'm sorry I don't recall his name. He made sure there were no allergens in my food after I shared my allergies with him. He was also very patient and truly attentive. Our food completely missed the mark. I ordered salmon and I could taste the sea. It might sound crazy to say but the fish was just too fishy lol. Maybe it just wasn't fresh. The toothfish was served so cold I sent it back. Service was great, but our food missed the Mark.
๐
One of our two favorite restaurants on Maui.
The grounds are amazing and the ambiance and decor like none other. The service is second to none. Every member of the wait staff is super friendly and attentive. We dined with someone who has a food allergy and they could not be more accommodating. For the food, it was fantastic. They started us off with a small cup of mushroom soup that was popping with flavor. The salads and luau soup were delicious. We chose the curry that had the most unbelievable flavors and the stuffed mahi which also was fresh and super flavorful. Overall, this was an awesome dining experience.

What an Amazing Experience- So add this to your list ahead of time to book months before visiting Maui ! Our server Mike was exceptional and made our day - so attentive / helpful , but never pushy. You can tell the vibe of the wait staff liking / helping one another. It translates into an amazing experience while at Mama's Fish House ! We went for lunch - same menu as dinner. I'd recommend the following : Shrimp Won Ton's, Uku, Pau Hana, Kuau Chocolate Pie. The views are simply stunning as well - Valet Parking only option.

I brought my family here with me this time, and it was amazing once again! We were able to snag a last minute dinner reservation, which was awesome. We enjoyed the scenery, the ambiance, and the food. Even my mother, who tends to be picky, enjoyed her time here. Our waiter, Joey, was also superb! He was so hospitable, welcoming, kind, and very knowledgeable of the menu. Thank you again for an amazing dining experience!
Lives up to the hype. Would love to go there again and again, but reservations are a real thing here. Gets booked way in advance, we were extremely lucky to find a last minute cancellation. We saw 2 other couples getting turned away right after us. They serve fresh fish caught the very morning. And menu is created based on that. Not big into sea food, but I wonder if any other restaurant does that. Definitely worth the planning and effort. Highly recommend it if you are planning your Maui trip.

A very nice stop if you're coming back from your tour of ' Road to Hana" , however you made need " reservations " and the menu is not big/selections our moderate, plus be known that dining here is not your average Maui tourist affordable, so $$$$plus for sea food or steaks , between me and my fiancรฉ, our bill was nearly two hundred with tip and I only ordered " Crab cakes " and she had a shrimp . Plus your car probably will have to " valet" it , little parking available. That's more tipping.
