MR CHOW BEVERLY HILLS Reviews from The Last Year

We had a party of 10 people just recently and had the Peking Duck dinner with 4 appetizers and 3 main courses plus Peking Duck, The food, and service was fantastic. I have been going to Mr. Chow's since the early 80's and the food and service just keeps being consistently fantastic, but seems even better these days. Congratulations to the Captains, service, and chefs. This is my and, any body I have taken there, become their favorite restaurant. If my wife and I go there we just order squab with lettuce, drunken fish, and Crispy Duck, or get one more appetizer like Chicken Satay and it all comes with rice and a vegetable like Green Beans. If you're going to compare the price point to other Chinese restaurants then forget it. This is a quality restaurant in Beverly Hills. In the 80's I couldn't afford it, but could put it on my company expense account and impress some very high end customers. Fortunately today I can afford it. If you put the quality of food and service over the price, then you are in for a real treat.
We were impressed by the attentive, good service.
The food was better than we expected and we were all pleased. Since Mr Chow has been open for decades, the menu and style are somewhat different than many other Chinese restaurants in LA.

Mr Chow has been there forever! It's a beautiful environment with great dishes. It's really fun for a nice dinner, and the service is excellent. The restaurant is beautiful! Check out the outfit collaboration!
Really dislike Mr.
Chow the man, but the food is fine and the staff is excellent. Mr. Chow has a chip on his shoulder about America and Americans (see the documentary). I would've preferred not to support this place after watching his movie, but it was already booked. And we did have a nice time. But we vote with our dollars. And I don't really like giving money to people like this fella.
Oh Mr Chow.
.. it's such a unique place. Still a spot to people watch all these years later. As long as you know that you are going into an 80's time warp and about to get the most overpriced (but good) Chinese food ever, it's worth the experience. Not many places like it where you smile and know you're about to be the proud recipient of an insane bill at the end of the night, but this is one of them!
horrible!! never again .
completely mis leading . I'm serious. Happy to spend money, but not on this . Completely mis leading.

Mr. Chow is a very famous and polarizing restaurant that also has a lot of pop culture influence in LA. They have many other locations: Vegas, Miami, London, New York, and a few others. The inside is like a mid 90s time capsule and pretty much everything else is from the same time period, as well. When we sat down, they brought us a food menu and also a merch menu. You can really tell what sort of place you are in when you are handed a merch menu before you even order your food. They are well known for their high prices and great service and even though it is a bit retro I really did enjoy the 90s aesthetic on the inside. They offer valet parking for $15 but honestly street parking or garage parking is easy to find in Beverly Hills. Our server was very polite and attentive, as well as the rest of the staff we encountered. All food items are brought out on a silver plate and served directly in front of you. It's almost a time capsule of how fancier restaurants in bigger cities in the 90s would serve their clients. One of the biggest issues I had with our dinner was the pricing. It is ridiculously expensive for fairly small sized portions. I honestly felt a little hungry after I finished dinner so this is not this sort of place I would go to after a long hike or game. I had to start off with a Chicken Satay because it is one of their most famous dishes, and honestly, I can see why. It is expensive for $16 per chicken satay but the flavors were tremendous. Some of the best I've ever had. We also ordered the Ma Mignon and Sweet and Sour Pork. The mignon was fairly good, although not nearly as good as a filet mignon @ Mastro's or one of the other high quality steakhouses in the area, but the pork was exceptionally good and something I would definitely order next time. It was crispy on the outside but soft on the inside and just had great flavors. The desserts were two cheesecakes and a fruit tart so I ended up passing on those. Overall, a really nice experience, some pretty good food, but really unfair pricing. I get that Beverly Hills rent is expensive, but I don't believe that should be taken out on the diners.

Amazing food and service it was my birthday It was really Fun and the food was really good
Mediocre food.
Horribly crowded. Feels like being in a train station. Tourist trap. Really disappointed
Listen.
There is no better place in LA you will find. Disregard the negative reviews, this place is literally amazing. First of all the food is amazing, get the "pre fix" duck option, you will not be disappointed. Service is Michelin star level. Absolutely great. Just perfect Easily the easiest 5 starts i have given. Have been here a number of times and will continue to come back. Do note that the tables are a bit to close together and things can get crowded. Still-5 stars
(BAD MANAGER SERVICE) |*RICARDO | (BEVERLY HILLS )
Ricardo (Manager) did not double bag the order to go, he said that the Bags are $10 dollars that cost to much. He was RUDE AND HORRIBLE SERVICE. He attends celebrities not have customer service FIRE HIM. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE NEED TO SPEAK TO MR.CHOW THE OWNER. (FIRE) RICARDO MANAGER BEVERLY HILLS MR.CHOW.
Objectively terrible terrible terrible food.
I can't understand it. The drinks are awful as well
HORRIBLE HORRIBLE CHEATS.
i went to pick up a takeout. I ordered the crispy beef but the maitre advised me to get the Fiery beef, saying the Crispy beef will be mushy when i get home. I agreed to Fierybeef, waited 30 minutes, but when i got home it was a SUPERTINY portion of "Crispybeef",now Mushybeef. However, i was charged $64 instead of $58, PLUS A TINY portion of saltless, tasteless, cheap sticky steamed rice for an EXTRA $28. Charged A total of $102.00 plus wanted a 20% tip. PLUS $20 for parking. WHAT A RIPOFF. STAY AWAY HERE. DISGUSTING OPPORTUNISTS. MEDIOCRE CRAPPY FOOD
Food was excellent and the service was superb.
We celebrated a birthday and we had a wonderful dinner
Tasteless, very small portions and expensive.
This place is just not good to be be quite frank. Not sure how they keep the lights on.

We attended for Valentine's Day and we requested the regular menu selection on our 6:30pm reservation they forced us to do the pre fix menu, the royal kir champagne was terrible and which is not what I would drink ever, as I did not want my drink or menu items forced or selected for me. They lied and told me this was my only option and I could not order off the regular menu. Everyone else ordered off the regular menu. Being Valentine's Day I drove one hour to go there and I brought friends with me a table of 4 they forced us to eat meat and chicken on lent which is against our religion Will never go back. We asked them several times and they said this is your only option which was lies we spent $1,130 on way too many items that we did not want to order and got terrible champagne that we definitely did not want. I'm extremely upset this Valentine's Day, I wanted to select my own food and drink- the dessert was extremely disappointing.
Wow what a drop of disgusting presentation of Michael Chow.
Sad to see the Rockin 70's hang out for greatness turn into a "Time to throw the towel in situation". Happy to say back in the day we all loved our parties here. Michael & Tina rocked the food party in BH for sure. Happy 2024!
Great food, service, atmosphere.
A little bit on the expensive side but worth it for what you are getting. A little sad it's not a busy as it was years ago. It should have more attendance.
Fun place, ambience nice.
Food portions sucked. Good food but little portions. $500 to leave hungry.

Where do I begin? This so called fusion Chinese food or whatever they serve is a disgrace to every restaurant in the world 1. Shark fin soup- this is basically Chinese buffet quality sea food soup with not so fresh crab meat. The fake shark fin which is mung bean noodle was hard to eat. 2. The lobster noodle- lobster was dry. Noodle was a mess of ball. Only flavor was garlic. 3. Bakchoy- this is just beyond sad. Overly cooked and small and bad quality bak choy 4. Sea bass- never tasted such rubber like sea bass. No flavor 5. Shrimp- i don't think thumb nail size is worth $60 6. Fried rice- even street vendor can do a better job. Never seen fried rice with rice sticker together like rice ball. Overall, over priced, bad taste, and lower quality than even cheap Chinese buffet. Pathetic

Worst Chinese food you can possibly have! It's pretty much panda express but 5x the cost!
Overpriced, Pushy Service, Overall Terrible
Terrible Chinese food served by used car salesmen masquerading as waiters. Don't buy their hard push for the fixed price menu. Stick with the a la carte menu if you must go here. There are countless better options in the area.

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!
This app is life changing
This app has opened my world up to so many wonderful new experiences I would never have the chance to have without access to this awesome app! 10/10!
Worked perfectly
Was a little nervous at first but was pleased to see that the booking went through flawlessly.
Highly recommended.
Success on Short Notice
Was able to snag an indoor table at Don Angie through an absolutely seamless worry-free process.
Worked perfectly, thank you!
This is a crazy holiday season in NYC and I was very pleasantly surprised to see that AppointmentTrader works! Will be using again!
Worked flawlessly!
Worked so well! I was a bit nervous, but everything went very smoothly. purchased the reservation, and got into the restaurant seamlessly.
Love this app!
So glad I came across this app :)
Quick table in Miami
I didn’t have my hopes high as it was a party of 4. In 24 hours I had a carbone reservation available! I was very happy as my family really wanted to come here
Prime time, great meal
So easy and had a prime time which I can never seem to get on normal res apps. So worth it
Got impossible NYC res
instead of waiting weeks I got my 4 charles reservation instantly
Worked perfectly to get into Carbone. So delighted
perfect
Worked well, got me into a restaurant with no availability
I was skeptical, and I still don't really know how they managed to find this hard-to-find reservation, but it was a win-win from my point of view, and I'll use this service again.
Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.
Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
Payouts Blocked Because of Sell Through Rate
Does anyone know how AT plans to handle cases where a seller is quitting the platform but has a sell through rate <25%? The error message I got said to fill more bids or find other ways to increase the rate.
Is AT really going to block sellers from withdrawing their money? Especially revenue made before the sell through rate was introduced??

I will give you 50% of ALL of my PROFITS if you teach me how to make profits?
LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.
Appointment
Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil
🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🧨🧨🧨 now on to 30 mill!
Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
