This restaurant could be good but seemed to lack any sort of energy and care.. It great write ups online but lacked the delivery. Food was fine. Service was fine. Just didn’t live up to expectations I had read about.
Puesto is a cool spot with decent tacos.
However, they are definitely overpriced for their tacos that don't come with any sides. I paid $150 for 8 tacos, one ceviche and 4 soft drinks (no alcohol) without tip. That is the most I have ever paid for tacos. I understand some of the tacos had filet mignon but the taco size is standard.

..there are tacos and then there are TACOS! These are the latter. To start, their tortillas are completely next level and then some. This means the chef can add wet or dry ingredients without worrying about taco structural integrity. So the variety and depth of these tacos is bar none. Honestly, these are clearly taco hall of fame material. But the goodness doesnt stop there. The ceviche - good lord the ceviche was perfection. Even the BASIC guacamole (there are enhanced versions!) is just delightful. These guys are certainly helping the case for San Diego as taco capital of US. Thanks to our server, Laura, for the great menu recommendations and excellent service right in the middle of weekend lunch rush! Highly recommend!!

IM OBSESSED WITH PUESTO!!! Betsy at this loco was great and so attentive!! This location has always had the best food and seasonal menu. Love the location and everything about it. Never disappoints!

Great friendly service in a nice atmosphere inside as well as outside. Numerous margarita choices. Margarita with a grand marnier floater was so good. Chips and salsa app was replenished twice without asking. Two different ceviche’s were delicious as well as an assortment of tacos and quesadilla.

I had one of my top 5 meals ever when we ate here. Truly the appetizers and drinks were the outstanding part of the meal. The ceviche we had was soo flavorful! Great service. Everything was perfect. I was part of a group of 8. We had excellent service

Service was excellent! Crowded but classy festive. We ate outdoors on the street seating under heat lamps. Got our food quick and servings were generous. Best guacamole our son and I have ever had. We also ordered 4 types of tacos: birria, filet mignon, fish, and carnitas. The filet was the bomb! Different and tasty! The carnitas was our second fave. Tacos don’t look big in pics, but they are and are filling. Two were even hard to eat for a woman on top of guacamole and chips and a salad. Food was fresh and presentation was also beautiful. Totally enjoyed it!

We came to La Jolla to look for orca whales and a stroll along the Ellen Browning Scripps shoreline walkway. We then decided on lunch in the village. We had come here when Puesto first opened. After putting our names in and being told the wait would be 30 minutes they texted us that our table was ready only after ten minutes. We ordered tacos and had two drinks. The atmosphere was amazing on the outdoor patio in a crisp, cold but sunny day. Good service (Grace S.) and great food!

We had the mango guac, fish taco, chicken taco (my daughter said it was the best one she has ever had). I would purchase the salsa if available in jars! Sophia was so kind and attentive. Great experience!

Returned to one of our favorite spots in town, especially during Restaurant Week. Puesto can be a bit pricey, so Restaurant Week is the perfect opportunity to visit. My only complaint is that they removed the filet mignon taco from the fixed menu options this year! Please bring it back! I can't believe I forgot the name of our wonderful server, but I recall he's from Wisconsin and moved to San Diego in 2019--talk about high-quality service! He was incredibly attentive, and we enjoyed observing his friendly interactions with each table. It was clear he was enjoying himself at work!

The Filet Burrito was Soo delicious I cried tears of happiness when i ate it. Today not so impressed, burrito is Mid at best. No rice little meat no sauce feels old like an old door dash order that wasn't picked up Service was excellent quick Vibe was straight.

False Charges
The food and service was good, but I can’t support any business that adds a “health and fair wage” surtax, especially if the customer is only notified after the bill is delivered. I am a small business owner and I pay 100% of the health insurance premium for my employees AND their families. I also start my staff at $20/hour. So, I do support a fair wage and health insurance for employees. However, I feel that is my job as an employer. I don’t give my customers a surprise bill to cover those costs. The owner should adjust their pricing to cover their costs. If the surtax is to cover a fair wage, does that mean that the customers don’t also need to tip the staff since we are already paying a surtax for a fair wage (note I still tipped 20%)? Very disingenuous. I won’t be back.

Came on a Saturday Night without a reservation and asked the hostess if we could get a table. She said "the wait will be 30 minutes" in a condescending tone. She did not proceed to say anything else, so we walked away.
When I arrived I asked for a table.
The hostess at the entrance right away said I could only sit at the bar because I was by myself. Never knew that having dinner alone was an issue to getting a table. I saw at the bar, bad tender was friendly and attentive. Food was delicious, I had the taquitos de papa and a taco de quesabirria.

Was recommended as a must stop whenever in San Diego and let me just say that it is criminal what other supposedly good taco places (at least where I live) are getting away with in comparison to this other worldly, next level, life changing taco. I'm not sure I'll ever be able to eat tacos from anywhere else again. Kind of like when you've been skiing upper Michigan your whole life, but then visit Colorado. You just can't go back. visited once and tried the Al Pastor, Baja Fish, Carnitas and of course the Filet Mignon. Had to ho out of my way to come back before leaving town and had another Filet, Al Pastor, Ribeye and Quesobirria. Filet was ridiculously good, followed by the Al Pastor and Carnitas. Also enjoyed the Baja fish and the QB and Ribeye had a little kick to them. Ordered to-go both times and they were ready quickly, and all were labeled in perfect taco to-go trays. Great service!! Can't wait to get back to SD for more!

We made reservations, so we had no problems getting a table. We shared the guacamole, which was good. I had a margarita and a quesabirria taco. The taco was perhaps the best one I've eaten in my life. Really cute restaurant, good service, and great food! I would definitely come back.

I went to puesto to have a small causal birthday dinner with my friends and puesto went above and beyond to make it incredibly special. The food per usual is amazing! We all got tacos for their Tuesday Taco deals. I would recommend getting the Quesabirria and Al Pastor tacos. Also please order the horchata. It literally rice pudding in liquid form soooo darn good. The manager personally came to our table to wish me a happy birthday and gave me a birthday card with a free taco voucher and a card signed by their entire crew! So sweet! And just when I thought it couldn't get better they came by and gave me a dessert to finish the dinner. Loved it all! Thank you Puesto!!!
Incredible tacos - very creative
This is a taco restaurant - but very creative. For example, I had a lobster taco and a carnitas taco. My granddaughter had filet mignon tacos. There are vegetarian options on the menu too. The blue corn tortillas wrapped around each taco are so delicious. Guac is extremely good. Salsa, though, will burn off your lips (and I like spicy). Extremely busy restaurant - so get reservations.

Insanely good tacos!
We had just landed in SD that morning and took The scenic route to La Jolla. We were all starving and we Had picked Puestro ahead of time based on the unique menu. My family loves Mexican food. WOW! We were all blown away. The chips & guac were delicious, the aqua Fresca were insanely delicious. Our very friendly waiter Colton explained the menu, gave us his favorite and our food came out quickly. We all took our first bites and were Instantly impressed. So fresh, so flavorful and so Unique. The tacos were each balanced perfectly. I ended up eating them with a knife and fork To really appreciate each bite and eat Them slowly. My daughter loved the potato taquiitos, my husband said it was the best shrimp taco he’d ever had and my son and I Loved the chicken and carnitas. I’m sad we won’t get to sample the rest. I’m also sad we missed out on dessert because I’m sure it was spectacular as well. Was it the cheapest Mexican food we ever had? Nope, but as my son said Pizza from Dominos and pizza In Naples are both pizza but they aren’t the same. It was well worth it and they are tacos we will dream about when we head back to the other coast.

Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!

I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!

Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!

It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!

Does anyone know how AT plans to handle cases where a seller is quitting the platform but has a sell through rate <25%? The error message I got said to fill more bids or find other ways to increase the rate.
Is AT really going to block sellers from withdrawing their money? Especially revenue made before the sell through rate was introduced??

Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.

to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.

Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.

Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
