These people take a reservation for 8:45PM. At 8:47 they called and said the kitchen was closing at 9:00 (left that off when taking the reservation). We walked through the door at 8:56 and they hostess tells me we are limited to the 6-course menu and must order IMMEDIATELY. Horrible start.Then there is a ship in at the dock and we look right into the section where the crew is smoking and a large light is shining through the Quay window and the shades are broken.... horrible ambiance.Waiter staff was OK.Food was good but ruined by the run up and rush.At least they matched the cost to what a great restaurant would charge, getting one element right.Might be a great experience for Australia, but horrible next to Michelins in France, Spain, England, US, Germany (possibly everywhere?).Would not go back - oh, I won't as I am now back in NYC with tons of really great dining experiences!!

If you have a list of "Restaurants to Try Before You Die" then make sure this is in your top 10. I waited a very long time to try this place, but last November we had a special occasion and it was finally time. We booked in for a Saturday lunch and spent a good 4 1/2 hours here... to say it did not disappoint is an understatement.The food includes some of the most beautiful and innovative preparations I have ever seen anywhere. The pork broth is divine and if you are very lucky you might even get a tour of the kitchen. And the service was absolutely the best service I've ever had at any of the top restaurants I've been to while living in Australia the past 10+ years. Exceptional. Finally, the view... I mean, C'mon. Gorgeous harbor view of the Sydney Opera House, the bridge, all of it. It will cost you the equivalent of a month's food budget, but it is definitely worth it.

Our day was spent hiking all around the harbour, and this evening we reserved a window view of all the places where we stopped to catch our breath. Ha! The panoramic view from our table was awesome -- God couldn't have made a better view if He tried. Katie's BFF and her FWB took us here for a couples date night out. The girls dressed in skimpy cocktail dresses, while Noah and I dressed in slightly slimmed-down versions of a tuxedo. Quay Sydney is one of the most expensive restaurants in town with an eight-course menu starting at $350 (AUD), and a "Benchmark Wine Pairing" for a cool $1,100 (AUD). Chef Peter Gilmore and Noah are friends, so tonight became a very special foursome dining experience. We started off with a bottle of Scotch -- the Talisker 40yo Bodega Series -- and paired it with pan-seared ribeye strips. The eight-course meal was a mix of all that is wild about this continent: raw sea scallops, Oscietra caviar, chamomile broth, bone marrow noodles, roasted duck with Morello cherries and black garlic, confit pig jowl, and prunes covered in dark chocolate. Which, of course, he made personally. The desert was rushed to our table, then the magic happened. You're actually tasting the chocolate in a really pure form, and you think it would be heavy, but it's actually really light. It almost looks like a sponge cake, but it's lighter than air, and with the warmth of your mouth, the chocolate virtually disappears and leaves this beautiful chocolate essence in your mouth. It's perhaps one of the beautiful contradictions of the desert, that so much time, energy, and chocolate could be expended in pursuit of a single, perfect, ephemeral moment. It was a gastronomic orgasm to be sure -- like, OMG!!At 2AM we finally said goodnight to Chef Gilmore. Thank God we had hired a limousine that evening... but we should have also hired a forklift. LOL. Quay Sydney defines fine-dining in Australia. It's worth your time and your wallet. Say, "bucket list."

Visited for my 50th birthday and what a treat. The food was incredible. We had the eight course menu and chose our own wines. The food was like nothing I have ever tried before. A marriage of flavours that danced in your mouth. The floor staff were hospitable, friendly and not pretentious. Thank you to all of the staff at Quay as they made my 50th birthday so memorable and I can’t thank them enough.

Wow! We had the 6-course degustation at Quay and it exceeded all our expectations. We were a bit nervous about trying some of the dishes, but they were absolutely delicious - perfectly balanced flavours and showed the best of some very unusual ingredients. It was a lovely treat to have a few 'surprise' courses thrown in that weren't on the menu. The service was beyond incredible, everyone was so attentive and gave us lots of info about the food and drinks on offer. The atmosphere was relaxed, easy to have a conversation and stunning views over the Harbour Bridge (even with a cruise ship in port blocking the Opera House view). I cannot wait to go back some day and would highly recommend this for a special occasion.

Very very delicious food at Indian at the cresent ininvercargill , it's been many years having this great tasty food from Indian at The Crescent invercargill. Always been great service by staff members and great honored to Owner of it as well. Thanks again 😊😊😊. My favorite is chilli paneer and daal makhni is very delicious with naan bread, another curries are awesome too👌 😋. Highly recommend to everyone.

This was our fourth visit to Quay and we were super excited about it having had at least two bookings cancelled during Covid and our trip up from Melbourne for the NYE event cancelled on the day because of staff shortages. Based on our past experiences we were filled with anticipation. Unfortunately it really wasn't as good as it used to be, or at least as we remembered. Don't get me wrong, the food is delicious. Nothing was poor. But not enough was amazing. And when you pay $1000+ it needs to be amazing. The raw scallops stood out with the smokey cream being a highlight. But the young peas were bland and the white coral dessert is visually spectacular but average on the palate. In some ways the service was spot on (Luke you are great) but there were misses. Our desserts arrived before the dessert wine and I was counselled to eat up whilst the glass remained empty (I cancelled the order). What one waiter told us was a bonus glass of wine another revealed as a mistake. This all sounds fussy but five star prices mean one expecslts five star service. Finally it's a shame that 8 and 10 course menus have now been condensed to 6. We left hungry and got fast food on the way home. On the positive side, it means next trip to Sydney we will try something new.
