The Polo Bar New York Reviews from The Last 180 Days
Super lux and food and service were amazing.Started with the seafood tower and corned beef bites. So good. Had the Dover sole which was excellent. Desserts a+.Overall amazing meal, great vibe. Enjoyed everything about this place.
Look price is not an issue but here I felt that there was not money value. The setting is stunning (English club meet Hampton residential circa 1980), the service so attentive and the food very good but was the dinner worth 220$ per person? The answer is no. My feeling is that you pay also for the exclusivity of the place and while I am OK with Harryβs Bar in Venice, The Polo Bar in NY doesnβt have the sameβ¦appeal! Anyway: done that!
I expected to find it overrated, but boy was I wrong. *meal starts with a warm popover Caesar Salad: portioned to split, dressing was a bit garlicky (in a good way), homemade croutons Pigs in a Blanket: the only dish I found mediocre. The meat somehow felt tough... maybe was a bad bite Burger: I ordered the Truffle Burger special with Brie cheese and it was sensational. A perfect medium rare. High quality meat. Flavorful, well seasoned. One of the best buffers I have eaten. Came with hand-cut truffle fries Old-Fashioned 5-Layer Chocolate Cake: decadent, rich, dense. The photo speaks for itself Peanut Butter Tart: a dessert special the evening I went. Silky peanut butter filling, crunchy crust. The only thing I wish is that it was on the permanent menu! It was a hassle to get a reservation, but as I said, WORTH IT. You have to call one month ahead of desired date at 10am. Be prepared to wait 30+ min on the line. Gorgeous interior. Packed and full of energy, yet not too loud. Tables are well spaced so it doesn't feel cramped. Great people watching.
First the exclusivity only adds to the enjoyment as it feels like a members only establishment that should be situated inside a southern country club. But alas the bar is squatted just below Central Park. Reservations are difficult and this admittedly adds to the excitement. We walked up and as fate would have it spots at the bar happened to be available. The space is truly a joy to be inside. Wood clad walls scream cozy library vibes. Service and drinks were fancy, classic and served with just the right amount of personal attention. Confidence is key, you deserve to be here. Not much more needs to be said as it is a wonderful pleasure to drink here, if you can get in.
Service 10/10Food 10/10 - did not order burger but enjoyed the steakAmbiance 10/10 Make sure to have a drink at the bar before or after dinner, the mezcal one is so delicious...and the warm nuts they give are so good too! For more fine dining reviews follow us on Instagram: @internationalfoodieclub
Old school atmosphere and fabulous menu and cocktails. My friend knows the manager so we had exceptional service. Tons of celebrity sightings and the restaurant was the packed. It was nice to see a crowded NYC restaurant again after we've been dealing with this global pandemic. Highly recommend!
- impeccable everything- very difficult online resey- I got in by calling for a resey in three weeks - I was on hold for at least twenty min before reaching reaching the reservation officer- shrimp is awesomely fresh- best water I ever tasted- the pigs in blanket are ever they say they are- the corn beef sandwich is perfect, esp when u conjoin with the slaw and mustard You have to eat them together with each bite- the steak is as soft as a pillow, I could cut it with a butterknife- albeit expensive (over $20 each glass), the drinks were superb- free polo pens
This was my second time at The Polo Bar. We were only able to secure a late reservation, but it was absolutely amazing. The best part is sitting at the bar prior to your meal. I would recommend arriving 30 minutes early to enjoy this experience. The drinks and bar snacks are excellent. Once downstairs, the meal, service, and atmosphere is solid and well worth the expense. We will be back on our next visit.
Not only is the service superb, but the vibes are immaculate and they don't spare any detail. They went above and beyond to help us celebrate my friend's birthday and truly made it so special. Yes it's very difficult to get a reservation but keep checking -- it's worth it! The food & drinks were spectacular.
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
