**BEWARE** When were paying for our bill, the server said there was an issue with their equipment and couldn't process gratuity, so they had to use a second card. Guess what? The full charges wound up on BOTH cards. Seems like a total scam by the staff. We've tried calling to rectify and keep being told different people and given different numbers. Clearly they have no intention of helping.Plus, early the next morning, one of our party was vomiting like crazy and felt horrible the next day.

A wonderful dollop of soul in superficial casinoland
5/5 by
Steve on 03/16/2023
Vegas' Casinoland is not short of novelties, and so a restaurant kitted out like a Korean bodega is not necessarily out of place in that regard. Where Best Friend does stand out is that it absolutely drips soul. So much love, care and attention to detail has been put into the place, not least the food. Every dish was superb and full of flavour, and the staff member who served us clearly worshipped the place too. We loved it and would go back in a heartbeat.
😍
Bring your best friends for an awesome time.
Make a reservation because they get busy, however, if the wait is reasonable it's worth it. We started with drinks at the bar--the orange dream sickle slush was a very unexpected gem we stumbled upon. Sounds a bit weird with alcohol, but just try it! As for the food our group tried a little bit of everything. The portion sizes are all over the place so be sure to ask your server for some guidance when ordering. Some items could have served 6 people while others served about 3. The music had us happily dancing and singing in our chairs between bites. The DJ was having a very Usher night, playing all of his hits, and we were into it. (Possibly because Usher was in town performing.) Some people have noted the music being too loud and I'd have to disagree because the volume was perfect IMO. I could easily hold a conversation with those at my table and had no problems communicating across the table to the server. Our server was very attentive and gave helpful guidance on ordering. Food came out fast. Didn't order one dish we didn't enjoy and can't wait to go back and try more things.
🤢
Dang! I really wanted to like this place.
The decor and staff were pretty cool and nice. Food was just unavailable and underwhelming and not to my standard of Vegas eats. It left me wishing I spent my money elsewhere. The short rib tacos were just meh. The eggplant schnitzel was a waste because the eggplant was thinner than the actual breading. The slippery shrimp didn't seem special or anything more than tempura shrimp tossed in spicy mayo. We had a Sunday 9pm reservation and they were already out of the uni dynamite rice and the toast of the town. Two of their menu highlights. c'mon really??! The kalbi and the date cake were definitely the only highlights of the night. Spend your money elsewhere like next door at Eataly or the two restaurants in there.

Best friends by Roy Choi highly recommend! The plates are higher priced but shareable, so it makes family style worth it and fun.Bartender was great and attentive! From the fried rice to the aray of Korean meats.. it blew the experience out of the park ! Highly recommend booking a reservation a couple weeks in advance! The back dinning room had a great DJ... but the front is a vibe too ! :)

Walking in you are taken back of the 90s nostalgia like a bodega type feel with decor and memorabilia.Going back to the seating area- greeted with a live Dj spinning the hits! Modern look with greenery, bar, and little touches of classic LA culture. We were greeted promptly but our waiter- I think his name was Abel? Made great recommendations and asked about food allergies! Kept it simple and had the kimchi fried rice, short ribs, and slippery shrimp. ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!! Everything was plated well, cooked perfectly and portioned well for two people sharing. This was my second time back and everything was just as great as my first visit. This will continue to be a must visit when in LV. One thing I loved seeing is that it looks like everyone is having a great time. The staff and patrons. Great vibe.

Good food but impossible to have a conversation
I ate here on my own one night during my stay as friends had recommended the food. It is Korean barbecue and the chicken wings I had were excellent - I was not that hungry so just ordered these. They arrived coated in a crispy, salty, flavoured coating, perfectly cooked. They were quite spicy but they were accompanied by sweet chilli sauce if I had wanted to spice them up a bit. The service was good and the restaurant is very funky. Acknowledging that I am not their target demographic which I guess is young hipster adults, the one annoying thing about the restaurant was the noise level. They have an in-house DJ who had the volume turned up to 11. Looking at the diners around me they appeared to be having the same difficulty that I was having hearing each other. I did like the food but would probably not return because of the noise.

went here today at 5pm and was seated immediately in the back where the music was SO loud. our server, korey, was pretty rude and basically ignored my partner and i the second he took our order. when he got a refill for my soda, he gave it to the table next to us and walked away immediately. the table had to ask us if the drink was ours because they didnt order it. also had to ask a busser to get our server because he was in the back the whole time. the food was so disappointing. we saw so many great reviews and were sadly let down. the only good thing was the elote. friendship with roy choi over. go elsewhere.
🤮
A year ago I would have given a 5 star rating.
..how quickly things change. Today I'd give ZERO stars. Why??? Well let me explain. This past Friday March 10th 2023 I returned and while the food was ok and service ok...see where I am going? Now the good part. I ordered a bourbon to start and asked if they had a large Rock of course they did. Ok cool...but Not cool when I learned as I was paying my bill I was charged $2.00 for the Rock. To make matters worse the lame female manager could only respond with "that's company policy". Plenty of choices in Las Vegas. I will not return and will make sure my friends won't as well. Greed and poor management is not a good combination. Chego PoFried ChickenSlippery Shrimp
Ordered all of the food because Fomo. Spicy little tears of happiness with every bite. Orange creamsicle slush will forever be the the correct way to drink, dessert and chill.
😍
Great food and big portions like think buca style dining
Great food and big portions like think buca style dining but with korean food instead of Italian loved the garlic chicken and chimmichurri scallops the friend chicken was huge but definitely not something I want to have again...slippery shrimp was really tasty.. super friendly waiter and the music was great but a bit loud
🙂

great ambience, great service, nice drinks and most importantly the food is amazing and the flavors were interesting! Definitely come here to try flavor combinations that you don't find in most other places.

Unique setting, great food
Great food in a unique setting. We enjoyed the vibe, service and chef’s menu. Service was quick, friendly and efficient.
We ate here in December 2022. We had considered coming for ages but could never get a reservation that worked for our schedule. We made it happen over Christmas. We used a 'My Vegas' reward that got us $16 off our bill. They also offered some lemonade drink as we are MGM Gold members. We over ordered but wanted to give the menu a try -- we had the Korean wings, uni dynamite rice, slippery shrimp, and short rib tacos. Everything was amazing! The flavors were unreal! No complaints whatsoever. The atmosphere is really cool and it was a lot of fun! The service was also top notch. Overall, a great experience with amazing food. We would absolutely come back!
😍
Hip hopping fun with good food
Always a fun place to visit. The music is loud and hopping. Servers are friendly. Food is good! We ordered the street corn, kimchi fried rice, kalbi and the miso squash. I wasn’t wild about the miso squash but everything else was delicious! The orange dreamsicle with an extra shot of vodka was an amped up slurpee complete with a brain freeze! The Medjool date cake was delicious! Reservations recommended!
This is a must-experience, but you do need to make a reservation! The food, the atmosphere, and the service are always spot-on. This was our third time going and we can't wait to go back in March!
🤢
If You Haven't Been to Korea or Don't Like Korean Food, Go To This Restaurant
I was so excited to go to this restaurant as it was advertised as "Korean Street Food". I love Korean food and especially the spice and exotic flavors. So basically this is westernized Korean food. Just looking around at the crowd, it looked like people who actually don't eat much Korean food and more just people who want to look and feel hip. I guess you could call it fusion food but from my perspective, the chicken wings, the tempura were some of the most unflavorful and bland food I have had at any Asian restaurant. If you want to see what is real Korean street food, go to Korea or come to Vancouver. There are plenty of Korean restaurants way better and way more innovative than this restaurant.
We came on a Monday night (with a reservation for 2) and there was a line outside of the door before they opened. The food here is fantastic! We ordered the shirt rib tacos, kimchi fried rice, and ramen fries. There was more than enough to share. The atmosphere is laid back but a bit loud. I appreciated the mocktails as well! The green fizz one is tasty!
Food was good but the music was just oppressively loud making it difficult to talk or even pay attention to what we were eating. It was a relief to get out.
😍
A must visit whilst in vegas
From entering the excellently designed venue every element of this dining experience was unbelievably brilliant. The staff courteous and fun, the DJ absolutely banging, the food OMG and the drinks … wow. Some really stand out dishes (we had the tasting menu) were the kimchi fried rice and the tacos. If you are in town this is a must visit. 5 stars
😍
Couldn't stop eating the food after eating here.
The same night I was craving for more! I made a reservation at 8:15pm which was too late for my liking because my boyfriend and I were attending a show at 9pm. We decided to go through with the reservation anyway because we didn't get to come here the last time we were in Vegas. When we got there the host said my table wasn't ready and that I'd get a text confirmation once it was ready. After I got the text I went back and the host said I had to wait a little longer. I don't usually mind but I felt like there was no point of telling me my table was ready when it really wasn't. Unfortunately I felt like I rushed my dining experience because of the show. Our server was super understanding and so we ordered everything from our drinks to entrees right then and there. The food came out very quick and all of it tasted amazing. Drinks: watermelon & salty dog. Food: kimchi fried rice, kalbi, slippery shrimp.
😍
this place was tooooo lit, no cyap.
the food we ordered was really good. everything we ordered was fire and came out at a reasonable time. we got the korean wings, kalbi, short rib tacos and kimchi fried rice. all the k foods lmao. the service was nice and the overall ambience and environment was what me and my gf wanted. big la and bay area vibes in here. 10/10 would recommend
😍
Great spot back in the day before the end times.
Still good, though it would be nice to see the secret menu items come back ;)
😍
I brought my fiancé here for his 30th birthday.
We both used to chase down the Kogi truck back in high school and have been fans of Roy Choi ever since. When we saw this place on the Chef Show we knew we had to check it out. The one thing I didn't appreciate was that the whole table has to order the chef's menu, it can't be ordered individually (they should put that on the menu!). We ended up ordering way more than we could eat just to be able to try all the things we wanted from the chef's menu plus a few other dishes. The good thing was we ended up with lots of leftovers! We ended up ordering the kogi tacos, slippery shrimp, kimchi fried rice, kalbi short ribs, spicy pork, and the ribeye. No complaints and those tacos were just as delicious as we remembered from our high school days!
I walked in the restaurant and found a seating in the bar which I like when traveling alone. The waiting time for food was at the minimum even it was quite busy night (8:30pm) I had a very nice bartender serving for me and I browsed through the menu and picked the tacos and a cocktail. The atmosphere was nice. There were lots of people around, dj playing music. Like sort of club vibes which I like. The tacos arrived quickly and the lemonade I ordered was HUGE. The food was great. I would go again to this restaurant in a heartbeat.
😍
What's not to love about this place.
The vibe, the songs played, the store front is super cute. The food was AMAZING we had kimchi fried rice, bulgogi and elote corn to name a few of our faves .Make sure to make reservation way in advance because this place is busy. We will be back for sure!!
😍
Loved everything about Best Friend.
I can't recommend it enough and can't wait to return! The staff, service, ambience, and music are all the best.We weren't super hungry when we dined here, but we tried:- green apple slushie- watermelon margarita- baked buns- street corn- kimchi fried rice- short rib tacosEverything was absolutely delicious, I just wish we were hungrier so we could order more!
😍
Awesome food and drinks highly recommend.
Make sure you catch them before 10:30 because that is their last call time
As soon as you walk into this spot it looks like your not so typical convenience store with a bar. Lots of neon lights and basically sensory overload with a touch of retro 90s and then it's a complete 180 as you get taken to the back of the restaurant.. dim lighting, dj at the booth, open area with lots of seating. Our server was awesome. We were an indecisive group so he put together a tasting menu for us. What we had was Carnitas Tacos, Dynamite Uni Rice, Kalbi Short Ribs, Kimchi Fried Rice, Korean Wings, Short Rib Tacos, Slippery Shrimp, and Spicy Pork. Yeah, basically the entire menu but there were a lot of us so we all wanted to sample everything and it was all delicious!! The uni rice was my favorite. Not really shareable so I came back the next day and had one for myself! So good!

Had the Chef's menu - $69/person with 2 person minimum I believe. Everything tasted anywhere from good to OMG this sooo good. So much food. Left completely stuffed but still had leftovers.Had a DJ playing R&B/funk from the 80s-90s. It's really, really loud. I loved the music so didn't care that it was loud. From a taste, value and fun atmosphere standpoint, a solid 5. We'll definitely be back.
😍
Yes, yes, and yes! If you're in LV you have to visit this
Yes, yes, and yes! If you're in LV you have to visit this spot. We got the pork belly hot pot, Kogi tacos and kimchi fried rice. Delicious! The vibe here too is really cool. A lace you can come to, chill, and know you're going to be getting some good food.
😍
Amazing food and experience
Was in Vegas with my best friend for her birthday. I had seen this place on The Chef Show and told her about it because it was in our hotel. At first we couldn’t get a reservation. She was up very late the night before we left and a spot opened up. We got the street corn, the tacos and the whole fish. All were amazing. I wouldn’t have ever ordered the fish without seeing it on the show. It was amazing. It is loud-there is a dj-but it honestly just seems to enhance the experience

The music is so loud you can’t even talk to your friends. Food is rich and greasy. Service was good and pretty quick. Not recommended.
🤮
Server ruined great evening
Very unique restaurant. Menu is extremely complex. We told the waiter we had never been there; he only told us that food came out randomly. That’s it We didn’t know how to order We had never been to Asian restaurant where the protein came al cart. The menu did not indicate this nor did it provide suggested sides (The waiter did not inform of this, basically it was clear we were a nuisance to him) The food was very good We got the garlic chicken and the bbq pork strips Both were excellent (having some rice would have helped) When the food came out the waiter had the “balls” come by and say you do know there are no sides? Such bad service
😍
Chef Menu experience at Best Friend
We wanted to have the full-on Roy Choi experience so opted for the Chef Menu. Boy, did we make the right choice. So much food though, and this was the first time during our recent Vegas trip that we felt really full. Totally worth it. Lot's of creative dishes, including some new ones for us (Kim Chi Fried Rice). They even accommodated my shellfish allergy with street corn for my portion, with my wife receiving the slippery shrimp. We highly recommend this great restaurant. Awesome vibe, great d.j. music, and delicious food.
🤢
LOUD music, just ok food
LOUD rap music is not my thing when I'm trying to enjoy a dinner. Waiter was way to casual, not just in the way he dressed, but his attitude. Food was just ok, nothing great. Korean wings not good, short rib tacos were pretty good, garlic chicken was dry and tasteless, eggplant dish was just weird and inedible. I would not go back
I've eaten at their food truck several times. The food at the restaurant is amazing! The restaurant itself, is a little dark for me, I prefer more light, but the food was great! We did the sampler menu, which is pretty pricey, but definitely worth it! The slippery shrimp was so good! Save room for dessert because they definitely won't disappoint either!
😍
Great but not a traditional restaurant
This is not like many restaurants I've been to. It's through the back of a bodega and club music is usually blasting from a live dj. This place is loud, not a place for a first date. The food from the mind and pallate of Roy Choi is excellent the slippery shrimp and kimchi fried rice are standouts in addition to the well done standard k bbq fare. The slushies are delicious fun and strong, I got the Henny and Cola. It's a good spot to be just know what you're getting into.
🙂
Slow service cold food.
Customer service is okay… I mean they said they’d re heat my food… no thanks it should arrive cold… also, at that price I do not want meat re heated… didn’t offer it fresh and new. Apart from that the taste was really good but the service was slow. Meh it’s good but not for the cost
I probably had too high of an expectation for my meal. My friend and I had the Chef’s Menu. Perhaps because we are both Asians and live in an area with readily available Asian food, I can only say the food was mediocre. There were inly three items in the banchan with the cucumbers bring the best. The tacos were good but extraordinary. The slippery shrimp was alot of batter and not very big shrimp. The kalbi ribs were okay but tough. The kimchi fried rice was not fried from what I could tell, maybe because the runny egg made it so creamy instead. The mango cheesecake was not our favorite. We both did like the garlic chicken the best. On word of caution to thise on a low sodium diet. This dinner was packed with salt!
😍
Excellent vibe & food!!!
This visit included our son who turned twenty one recently. By far this was his favorite spot and our favorite too. The food is fantastic every time we come and the value this restaurant provides is amazing. We love coming here because the atmosphere combined with the great food allows you to relax and enjoy the experience.
We loved Best Friend. We had four people and it seemed like the food just kept coming. They bring it as it is ready, so it literally did!
We had the wings, Veggie noodles, Short Rib Tacos, Street corn, Slippery Shrimp, Spicy pork, Chego Pork bowl, and ramen.
It was all amazing and each person enjoyed something more than the other. For me, it was the Spicy Pork!
I recommend it highly to anyone and we were lucky enough to meet Roy himself.... I huge highight of Vegas for sure.
🙂
Best friend by Roy Choi is a cool place to eat and drink
Best friend by Roy Choi is a cool place to eat and drink while enjoying the vibes and ambience. I noticed even a more private area that you need rsvp for. Me group of bachelor friends came in as a walk in and we got lucky. They gave us guys the long booth table outside and we got seated right away. Service was great and quick. He offered what we should order and if that was enough. My friends were not looking to get stuff since we were clubbing after haha. but we wanted to pick at a handful of good dishes. First off, the decor brings you back to the 90s and you're in la haha. So many cool old school stuff that I remember and it brings back a type of nostalgia. I believe this was on his Netflix episode. Dishes came out family style for everyone to share. They brought out completely Hawaiian rolls, we ordered kim chi fried rice, slippery shrimp, short rib tacos and Korean fried chicken. Everything was flavorful and tasty. It's elevated comfort food that always hits the spot. Overall, come give it a try and enjoy the experience

I had the chance to eat here and it is seriously overrated! Our food recommendation were from the server. The food we had had two flavors, bland or spicy. Literally no taste and this was multiple dishes from the menu. Place was way to loud with old school music. Could not have a decent conversation with our group, unless you were screaming. Paid way to much and the tip given was way to generous. Don't waste your time unless you are crazy. I gave the 2nd star because I liked the hotel.

To celebrate our two-year anniversary of living in Vegas, I
To celebrate our two-year anniversary of living in Vegas, I wanted to pick a restaurant that connected our adopted city to our former L.A. home. So happy we chose Best Friend at the Park MGM. It's the out-of-this-world Korean fusion restaurant from L.A. chef Roy Choi whose Kogi food trucks put him on the map. The eatery's signage--a fun salute to those tacky yellow strip mall signs--instantly brought a smile, and after walking through the separate bar + merch area, we were led into a spacious dining room filled with dazzling iconic L.A. images + waiters funnily dressed-down in L.A. casual wear. We decided to go all in for the pricey-but-worth-it Chef Menu. The complimentary buttered Hawaiian Rolls segued perfectly into the Banchan Sampler, the signature Kogi Tacos, the spicy Slippery Shrimp, Kimchi Fried Rice, and the like-butter Garlic Chicken + Kalbi platter. And then...the one-two dessert punch: the Medjool Date Cake, served with toffee + caramel ice cream, and the Mango Cheesecake with sorbet, and guava whip, both of which were seductive + captivating. Afterwards, it was real nice to walk through the hotel's commendably smoke-free casino, with the taste of a terrific meal lingering in our mouths + minds. #losangeleseastsropr.com/las-vegas/roy-…
Food is so flavorful and prices are not bad. 10/10 would go back.
😍
First off, make reservations early.
We stumbled into an available table for 8. But the actual dinning experience was amazing. We did the family style dinner and every item brought out was delicious. The soju drinks were also delicious. But the best part was the whole ambiance...live dj, awesome decor and of course, our servers. They were amazing. This was a surprise party for my wife who loves Korean food and grew up in LA.....yeah Best Friend was literally the perfect spot!!
😍
Best Friend is a hidden gem.
When in Vegas I strongly recommend it. Located in Park MGM, family style serving. Phenomenal food, plentiful quantity, fair prices, amazing atmosphere, and, and very personal able staff. After you leave buy something from the "convenient store" to take back to your room. Must tries: tacos, elotes, ramen. If I could take them back to Chicago with me I would.
😍
So this is what I expected.
But honestly I didn't know there was a cute and sexy vibe inside. It's sort of like a garden party in Beverly Hills. But where I ate was counter service and it felt like a Mexican taco stand inside Vegas!! So hip and cool. Get the shrimp and have the Horse's Neck
😍

We had a small family's gathering to celebrate Milton's birthday. Our server ordered for us and we loved everything. Only way to enjoy eating the most possible is with a group.
