When we first entered the restaurant yesterday we had been seated in a section of the back which was a bit hidden from servers and so it took some time for our server to actually find us. Once they did, the service was impeccable, there may have been a minor hiccup with ordering a drink (ordered a tea with boba, and got one without) but it was quickly rectified. Nathan's service was amazing and it made our dinner.As far as food goes, the shrimp fried rice was extremely good and the truffle & pork dumplings + the chicken dumplings were great too. Thanks for a nice dinner.

This place was recommended to me by a local friend of mine, so after settling into my new place I went with a couple of friends to check it out. We waited about an hour for a table, which I was told was pretty standard, so I had high hopes that it would be a good experience. The restaurant looked really nice and was very clean. The atmosphere was very inviting - I really liked the lighting! When we finally got a table, our server was John and he took great care of us. Super friendly and engaging, but not overbearing. Since this was my first visit, John made some great recommendations. The pork bao was particularly good! We really enjoyed our time there and would definitely go back. Hopefully we'll get the same server the next time we go! :)

Had lunch here with friends and the food was good and the service was excellent. Although it was only three of us, we ordered multiple dishes to share and our servers didn't seem at all bothered to keep bringing food to our table. The food was good, we had both meat and vegan since one of my friends is a "vegen" and all the dishes were delicious. We had a noon reservation and didnt have a wait to be seated, which I recommend since it can get very busy. One thing I like about this restaurant is that the food is made fresh. No frozen dumplings or canned broths.

Located inside the famous fancy mall, Din Tai Fung does not disappoint with its gourmet menu of tastiness. We traveled to LA and this is our second time at a different location. This one offered the similar options and the same awesomeness of soup dumplings. If you are visiting DTF for the first time, some of my favorites are pork soup dumpling and and sweet ribs. Of course we ordered everything and more from our photos but you can't go wrong with even jus those two choices. Enjoy!

Din tai fung (DTF) has managed to stay in the top slot on our special rotation despite expanding to multiple locations. Each kid can put away ~10 juicy pork dumplings (JPDs) which are like WMDs (weapons of mass deliciousness) detonating in your mouth. The bite to value ratio is exceptionally high. The pork fried brown rice is very good. Well done DTF well done. P.S. get the milk tea with boba in a Togo cup

We had been planning on coming after being recommended by several friends. We went for lunch on a Friday afternoon. We had made a reservation and they accommodated us by getting us in a little early. The servers were all very friendly, knowledgeable, and the place was clean. Once in, you do have to order everything at the same time. Everything was pretty good, but it is definitely pricey. I also felt like you do had to eat everything right away, because after a few minutes when the food cooled off, it just wasn't that great anymore. Would go again.

OMG, Din Tai Fung is the absolute bomb! This Taiwanese restaurant chain is seriously next level, and you gotta check it out ASAP! The steamed dumplings are out of this world, I swear I could eat them every day for the rest of my life and never get tired of them. The wrappers are so thin and delicate, and the fillings are bursting with flavor. And don't even get me started on the boba tea, it's like a party in your mouth!The atmosphere at Din Tai Fung is totally chill and modern, and the staff are super friendly and helpful. They even let you watch the chefs make the dumplings, which is so cool. I could seriously hang out at this place all day and eat my weight in dumplings and boba tea.If you're a fan of Asian food, you gotta hit up Din Tai Fung. Trust me, you won't regret it. I would like to start off by noting that the service was fantastic and the ambiance was very nice. The food overall was good, but did not hit my expectations. The xiaolongbaos had barely any soup and essentially no different than a normal dumpling. My group of 4 ordered 5 stacks of the xlb because the xlb were not filling. Each one was very small. The cucumber salad appetizer was bland and did not have the hit of flavor we were hoping for. We also ordered the spicy wontons and the green beans, they are a must try and I highly recommend.

They told me at the front it would take 2-2.5 hours to get a table, no problem. I get back at 7:30pm they let me know they're running behind by 20 mins. I still haven't got a table by 9:00pm and they tell me that my original wait time was 2.5-3 hours and they're now running behind an additional 30-60 mins. The wait times were mismanaged and they took too many people on their wait list than they could have managed. Avoid this location

I went to the Glendale location on Sunday and then convinced friends to go on Monday as well! Food was really wonderful, we ordered so many things and it was great to split between four people and try lots of menu items! we got Sesame Noodles, Spicy Wontons, Vegetable Xiao Long Baos, Cucumber Salad, Chicken Fried Rice, and more! I personally loved the ginger as pictured. The boba was good! And don't forget about dessert! Service was good. We were seated outside but the inside tables looked fun. Very bad value overall. DO NOT ORDER TAKE-OUT FROM HERE!The food was bad in almost every metric you can use. The portions were small, the taste was mediocre, the preparation was sloppy, and the prices were high! A few notorious examples would be the beef noodle soup (which contained only 1 small piece of beef,) the Steamed Soup "with Bone-in Chicken" which literally had NO chicken in it, and the Shanghai rice cakes which had fewer rice cakes that weren't clumped together than were (the fact that there was no sauce between the clumps indicates that the prep team didn't bother to separate the rice cakes before cooking which is as basic as separating wonton skins before wrapping wontons.) I have to assume that they thought they could get away with this awful quality of food due to it being a delivery order because I refuse to believe they can stay in business serving food to customers in the store. Honestly, if I was in the store and they tried to serve me what was delivered, I would send it back or walk out. I can't think of a single Chinese food place that was worse than this. Panda Express is infinitely better in every regard (except for the quality of the delivery bag which I have to admit was quite nice.) Honestly, I feel bad even comparing the two since it's an insult to the Panda Express name. I am ashamed to admit that my ancestors come from the same country as this restaurant and my grandpa is mostly likely turning in his grave knowing that this restaurant claims their "Shanghai Rice cakes" have anything to do with Shanghai. I wouldn't wish a takeout meal here upon my worst enemy which is why I felt the need to write this review and save people from wasting their money getting take out from here.

I spend a lot of time in Asia and had my fair share of Dim Sum as I just love it. This is at the same level as I tasted before. The variation is exceptional, great quality and just yummy. It is essential to make a reservation if you are planning to go on a weekend otherwise you will wait for a very long time. It is in a shopping mall but that is not an issue at all. But I do think considering the ambiente, the price for a dinner is a bit high. However with that said, the service was outstanding and nothing to complain. It is just a very large place creating a feeling of eating in a cafeteria. Nevertheless I will visit this place again and can highly recommend it.

I ordered braises beef noodle soup, Shanghai rice cake, crab & pork Xiao lom bao, and DW ordered minced pork & pepper noodles. Both the noodle and rice cake were undercooked. The beef in braised beef noodle soup was still firm with little flavor. A rule of thumb for this dish is to cook the beef to very soft, literally break up in your mouth. To be fair, the broth was good.Xiao lom bao did not taste good like I recalled. The meat tasted dry, maybe they've been refrigerated too long.This store is located in Century City Mall, known for fancy decor and expensive prices. I've been to same restaurant in Singapore and in San Gabriel Valley, each time they left me fond memories wanted to go back for more. NOT THIS STORE. Maybe they've been catering to the "gringo" client's taste for too long and lost that ethnic authenticity along the way.We will not be going back.

The wait time however is the worst. You lose the appetite waiting for a table and their online reservation is not the best at all. Once you get seated rest all falls in place with the food and service. Eat anything of their menu you can't go wrong . My fav is vegan dumplings in spicy sauce which I just keep eating. String beans , garlic broccoli are amazing.

I was really looking forward to eating here because everyone hypes it up so much but I left a little disappointed. We got the pork spicy wontons ($15.50), crab and pork shao mai ($14), garlic broccoli ($8), pork buns ($11), and chocolate buns ($8). All were pretty good. The stand out was the spicy wontons. The chili oil balanced out the savory dumpling so well. But all in all, the food wasn't mindblowingly good. I often am wary about saying Chinese food is too expensive or not worth it because there is an unfair idea that Chinese food needs to be cheap, but if I was giving my honest review, I didn't think how good the food was was worth the price of what we paid. I've been to many many places (like Dumpling Kitchen in SF) with dumplings priced lower but tasted far better. I would gladly pay $15-$20 for those dumplings.Some positive things: great service and great atmosphere. I would also highly recommend you make a reservation if you can get one.

Din Tai Fung is definitely over hyped but if you want to go to a dimsum place with nice atmosphere this is it but for good quality dimsum? not so much. I was especially disappointed with the crab dumplings? It tasted fishy...I only had one bite. I would say the best thing about this place are the salads. I can eat two plates of the cucumber salad and the mungbean sweaweed salad. Everything else is just decent. Nothing special I would say. But even with everything said, I still enjoy coming here time to time.

My sisters and I decided to try this place one day during the week while we were in town. For a weekday they were pretty busy. We did not make reservations which of course we regretted once we found out they weren't taking any more guest unless you wanted to wait for a bar table. We ended up waiting for a bar table, the wait ended up being about 1 hour which wasn't bad considering we did not have reservations. We knew what we were having soon as we sat down so all we had to do was give the server the paper that had everything that we wanted written down. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time even though they were busy. They brought out dishes in sections so not all at once. If you want them all at once you can ask for that to be done. Bringing the dishes out in sections makes it easier so that everyone can try and enjoy the dishes together and the table isn't crowded either. All of the dishes were amazing especially the garlic green beans. I enjoyed everything that we ordered. From the meal to the service 10/10 would recommend if in the area.

Really not much more to say. The food is the best of the best. The service is attentive and reasonably fast given how busy the place can get. I've had excellent dine-in experiences as well as excellent take out experiences. If you want to know what Chinese-inspired Taiwanese food really tastes like, come here!

Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!

Money transfer

As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.

We were very pleased with our experience at Scarpetta. It made our anniversary very memorable. The reservation was seamlessly transferred into our name.

Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?

Best Answer It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!

Best Answer Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.

Best Answer Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.

Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?

Best Answer Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.

What happens if my bid expires unanswered?

Best Answer Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
