Girafe Restaurant Paris Reviews from The Last Year
great view, nothing more.
We have mixed feelings when we think about our visit to the Girafe. We were really looking forward to the evening. Booked for 19:00. They made all the guests wait outside in the rain instead of letting them into the huge entrance hall. Dress code tip: it's like sitting in the front row next to Anna Winthour at Fashion Week. The ladies are all wearing Cartier and Rolex paid for by the sugar daddies. The food is delicious, but disproportionately expensive. When the waiter realised that we weren't consuming for €1000+ we weren't treated as attentively. We were denied access to the terrace even though there was enough space. Conclusion: great view, nothing more.
Sub Par
The restaurant has a great view of the Eiffel Tower, but that’s about it. We were seated just before 10:00pm around 9:50pm but the food didn’t arrived until 11:05pm. The guests next to our table were seated after us but ate before us. The waiter recommended the sea bass, so we got that and the lamb. The manager came over and stated that the sea bass was the hang up in the kitchen, after the waiter apologised for the delay three times. After getting the meal to our table I thought the worst was over, but it continued as the lamb was cold (As it must have been prepared earlier and was awaiting the completion of the seabass). I mentioned the Lamb was cold the manager , took it back to the kitchen but it was still cold. At this point my spouse had completed her meal and I was just ready to leave at this point. Lancelot (waiter) was very Apologetic and did his best with the circumstances. The manager on duty could have troubleshooted the scenario better as he seemed unbothered..
Very Disappointing Experience
My friends, if you want to sit at Girafe and not LA SUITE GIRAFE (4th floor), please INSIST at the entrance, EVEN IF you have a reservation at Girafe. Here's what happened to us: We booked a table for 4 at Girafe restaurant (see photo 1), but upon arrival, we were told that we could only get a table at La Suite because Girafe was fully booked, despite our reservation (???). Understandably, we were very confused. When we asked the restaurant for an explanation, the managers were very impatient and, dare I say, quite arrogant. It was clear to us that they had no respect for us and did not care about tourists (yes, we couldn't speak French). One of the staff even said, "do not insult my colleague, she was crying when she called me" - which was a blatant lie. The truth is, we didn't insult her at all, and her colleagues were laughing at my mom, who couldn't speak perfect English. To clarify, I specifically made a reservation at Girafe restaurant, not La Suite, as their website has separate booking pages for each (see photo 2 and photo 3). Overall, this was a very disappointing experience, and I urge you to double-check your reservation and insist on being seated where you booked.
Overpriced and no guarantee of a view of the Eiffel Tower
Overall an extremely disappointing visit. This was such a shame as people had recommended this restaurant to us. We have visited Paris so many times before and not tried it. We booked weeks in advance to ensure a booking. It is almost impossible to get hold of the restaurant. We emailed several times, attempted online and eventually after 10 phone calls (waiting on hold for 15 minutes without success most times) we got a booking. So it was disappointing that when we arrived to the restaurant we were given arguably the worst table in the place. Right next to the entrance steps where waiters and customers are constantly walking past. It was also next to a storage area for dirty plates and eaten food. Worst of all, it is sat behind the giant statue which completely obscures the view of the Eiffel Tower. The main reason for visiting this restaurant is the view. We asked to move and the staff half heartedly ‘tried’ to find us another table. What was interesting was there was at least 20 tables spare. These tables remained empty for the entire duration we were at the restaurant of over 2 hours, yet we were told the restaurant was ‘fully booked’. We were moved to the second worst table in the restaurant. The furthest table away from any view, tucked into a corner with little room for 4 people. (again with so many spacious tables remaining empty) We would like to mention that several customers arriving also requested to move tables and were given new ones straight away. We expressed our desire to move somewhere with a better view to the front desk, Waiter and manager. But nothing was done to accommodate this. Just told again that they are fully booked. Our Waitor was friendly and drinks and food were served quickly after ordering. We went for the beef fillet, lobster linguine and prawns starter. The food was excellent. Quite over priced for what it was, but you’re paying to seat opposite the Eiffel Tower. Upon finishing our mains and considering desert, we noticed that still 20 tables remained empty after 2 hours. We again requested with our waiter to move, so we could enjoy desert and further drinks with a view, and the waiter now put this request to the manager. It was upon speaking to the manager where we decided to take our custom elsewhere. I don’t think we have ever visited an establishment where the manager could not be any less interested in accommodating customers or having a cafe for their happiness. He completely dismissed our request informing us that ‘all tables had no view’ and no table was better than another. He told us it was difficult to move people but we stated immediately how a table of family that arrived after us were able to move and then changed his defence to ‘all the umbrellas are up’ so noone has a view, if you want a view then come in the evening when the umbrellas are down. The manager was rude and didn’t care that we were unhappy. He asked us if we would like desert and we told him we will leave and go somewhere else. At this answer, you’d expect most high priced establishments to then apologise and attempt to correct the unhappiness - common in most major cities. But this was accepted and he immediately left without care. Overall not worth the money, no way to get a table with a view of the Eiffel Tower (Even if you book weeks in advance) and let down by rude and un-accommodating staff. Save your money and book somewhere else. We sadly won’t be returning.
Picture perfect atmosphere, delicious food and impeccable
Picture perfect atmosphere, delicious food and impeccable service. We enjoyed our time at Girafe so much but the real showstopper is the sparkling Eiffel Tower directly in front of us. No matter where you sit there's a front row view. Make sure you take the 10pm seating to get the full experience. You will not regret it!!
I had the most amazing time at this restaurant.
The service, our waiter, the view and ohhh my gosh, the food. So glad we made this our first dining experience in Paris. We had reservations for lunch and they couldn't be more accommodating. I honestly thought it was going to be one of those overhyped places that we just go to for the view, but they blew me away. The crab and avocado appetizer, the shrimp, the lobster pasta and the octopus, all spectacular. And that complimentary bread with smoked cod... delightful. Our waiter recommended a spritz for me which was perfect and even took pictures and videos of us. He was amazing. It's expensive but I would definitely go back. Loved it!
Not worth it
We went here for a late lunch and were seated at a table in the back which had no view at all. The food is incredibly expensive and the service was poor. There are tables with great views so if you’re seated there it would be much better. I’d give it a five for the views (but only if you’re seated a table with a view) a 3 for the food which are tiny portions, overpriced and not that great, and a 2 for the service.
Below Average
Beautiful view but the steaks are horrible as well as the waffle dessert. Service was fine but not stellar which is expect for the price. Definitely a tourist spot.
AWFUL AND RUDE
HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. We had made a reservation for dinner to see the eiffel tower while we were in paris for the weekend. At 5pm the day of our reservation they called and said they were cancelling our reservation due to rain. It was not raining at all and the weather app showed no indication of rain in the near future. When we asked them this they said they had “a radar” and knew it would rain even though no apps said this. They did not offer any chance to rebook us or accommodate us in any way. So so rude on the phone. -100/10 please please cancel this place.
I am writing this review to express my extreme
I am writing this review to express my extreme disappointment with Girafe's lack of responsiveness to reservation requests. I recently attempted to make a reservation for my wife's birthday dinner. I wanted to create a special evening for her, and Girafe had been highly recommended. Unfortunately, despite my efforts, I received no response from the restaurant. I tried contacting the restaurant through multiple channels: I tried contacting by email, phone, but received no response. I even sent a direct message via Instagram, hoping for a quicker response, but received no reply there either. If a reservation wasn't available on my preferred date, a simple response acknowledging my request and offering alternative options would have been greatly appreciated. This complete lack of communication was incredibly frustrating, especially considering the importance of the occasion. It left me feeling unimportant and disregarded as a potential customer. Due to the unresponsiveness, I was forced to make a last-minute reservation elsewhere, which took away from the element of surprise I had planned for my wife's birthday. I am truly disappointed with this experience and would strongly advise potential diners to consider the difficulty in securing a reservation before choosing Girafe.
A bit difficult to get into Girafe, they don't usually
A bit difficult to get into Girafe, they don't usually answer their calls or respond to emails or DMs, however hotels or associates can help you get the in. Girafe was beautiful, some of the best views of the effiel tower. Service was a bit slow however food was amazing. We ordered a bottle of champagne which was paired toast and some sort of delicious fish paste. For apps we started with Salmon Bellini which was incredibly fresh. With a creme fresh spread on a Bellini. For dinner we ordered the truffle linguine which was absolutely amazing. The octopus was perfectly cooked as well.

I had an incredible dinner at Girafe, thanks to Farrah, Rinad and Giulianno. Delicious cocktail called the "Louvre" with Mezcal for that smoky taste. The sea bass was so delicious and of course I had to try the Chocolate Hazelnut Tarte. Not to mention the incredible view. Unique and beautiful dining experience!
We had great service and the food was really good.
I loved my salmon bowl and cocktail
Food was good but nothing over the top.
Seated inside due to rain which isn't a problem but they put a statue on the terrace that literally covers the Eiffel Tower view from the inside which was a bummer. There were huge rats running around in the terrace and we could see them the entire duration of our dinner because we were seated at a table next to the terrace glass doors. The server said it's due to all construction in the city preparing for the Olympics but we didn't see a single rat at any of the indoor or outdoor restaurants we went to. Wouldn't go back.
Was excited for this dinner, pics looked amazing on
Was excited for this dinner, pics looked amazing on instagram, the views outstanding as well. Everything may have been better if it didn't rain. They stated since I was a late reservation they would put me at the bar!!! It was a 10pm reservation, we were starving. Very disappointed in that, receptionist and waiter stated the terrace was closed due to rain. It hadn't rained in 6 hrs. Staff was short. A lot of people were pissed and left. Sitting in the make shift bar area, there were dishes stacked next to us, the group that sat next to us were talking to the waiter and told the waiter they weren't eating because they didn't want to pay that much money without a view, waiters response was this is a restaurant, you come for food not a view. No pre-communication about terrace being closed or short staffing and or over promising seating. Over heard the manager saying they have 300 seats outside and 200 inside. They weren't really good at trouble shooting this, argued with costumers instead of offering later reservations, it took a few minutes for the manger to offer this. The prices are inflated for tourist, food quality is ok. Got a recommendation for the tuna appetizers, it was slices of tuna with burnt ponzu sauce, it was good but not worth the money comparing to food back in the states. The burrata salad was awesome. We almost ordered 2. The fish looked amazing but we just weren't feeling that and kinda put off by our experience Service wasn't great for the money you Pay for a meal, it may have been they were overwhelmed by last minute seating but for €€€€ you should be a bit more attentive to the folks you are servicing.
Let me start with the good.
The truffle pasta was really good and so was my shirley temple (the only mocktail worth getting anywhere). The server was great. The issue here is the blonde girl at the hostess stand and the manager. The hostess insisted I didn't have a reservation, was rude and dismissive. When I pulled out my email confirmation she insisted the confirmation didn't go through. Escalated to manager. He found me a cozy spot at the bar, and even he got the same treatment from the hostess when inquiring. He didn't apologize for the inconvenience either. In what world does that happen? Hostess needs to be re-trained on hospitality. Once I got to my seat, there was a couple who had the exact same issue as I did, but a different hostess actually made arrangements for them at a restaurant down the street. They wanted a proper experience so they took her up on it. It was my first night in Paris and I was tired, so I was fine at the bar because I didn't feel like finding another spot to dine at that evening. Also, they conveniently do not answer the phone if you try to confirm yourself as a double check the evening before. I know because I tried. I also noticed that myself and the other couple who had the issue had the same ethnic background, and I'll leave it at that for now. Overall, I wouldn't return. Lots of improvements needed on the hospitality front
Tourist trap.
Avoid From the guy with a beard who seats you (I wish I got his name) to the poor service. Most of the tables don't have views. Below avg food. Just horrible experience. Tourist only! Paris has so many good places, don't waste your time there. You can't pay me to go there again.
We came for my daughter's birthday dinner.
My husband and I asked 4 times for well done steak. Steak came out bloody. We sent it back. Waiter asked if we need anything else and we declined. Because we had ordered so many other dishes we didn't need to remake the steak. He charged us for the steak anyway which is fine. We didn't complain. He brought the check and tossed it on our table. My kids asked for desert and he turned to me and he said I will not bring you desert because your husband is rude. My kids were afraid and started crying. Ruined my daughter's 16th birthday. We didn't even complain we kindly asked to send the steak back because it was bloody.
Lovely treat
I dined here with 10 other ladies. Food was delicious, fantastic drinks menu. Great options for one of my friends requiring gluten free. Good vegetarian option too. We received excellent, attentive service. The restaurant itself was lovely. I agree with some of the other comments about it being expensive, but you are in Paris over looking the Eiffel Tower. Overall a perfect treat on a girls weekend away

located in the Trocadero across the Seine from the Tower.
The food is top quality and well presented. The wine selection is very good. This is not a place to check menu prices. be prepared to spend. the views of the tower are unsurpassed. The service is excellent and what one would expect for a restaurant of this caliber.
Great Food Greay view but pricey !!
Really enjoyed our meal here....atmosphere was good restaurant is very astetically pleasing on the eye with a great view of the Eiffle tower. waiting staff were polite and on the ball....food was fantastic we had the King prawns to start also the lobster ravioli with crab bisque then cod for main both tasty and would order again. The price is as you'd expect for the type of restaurant and its location but I don't mind paying it when food is good and service matches which it did on our visit
Awful
the stuff is arrogant and awful , food is nothing special and space for dinner is very toght and uncomfortable! i wouldnt reccomend only the view of terrace is fine
This place was amazing.
Not often do you find a restaurant close to a prime tourist location (aka Eiffel Tower) which has amazing food. This was it. It was it!!! Reminded me a lot of the NED in London. Amazing. So fancy. I didn't have a reservation but the hostess was so nice and got us bar seating. Same thing. Same view. Same good. The outside was closed during the winter so we didn't see the view of Eiffel Tower but the food was absolutely amazing. We hard the octopus and the truffle pasta. Soooooooo good and balanced and fresh. And my dirty martini was great too!!! I will def be coming back here when back to Paris!!!
I think some of the bad reviews are fake.
I bring clients here and dine with my Partner here frequently- in every season. If you are a tacky tourist who is only coming for the view just climb the tower. The view is a bonus. The restaurant is chic through and through. Sadly, Yelp reviews used to be reliable. It's become a forum for entitled low income earners Who think they are millionaire influencers.
Overrated: Lovely Food But Not Worth It
We visited Girafe after hearing about the stunning views of the Eiffel Tower. Be warned: they are more than 50% blocked by a statue so aren’t all that. Although the food which we ate was delicious, we paid a premium for the location and there ate definitely better spots in Paris. The service was not ideal either: we were very much rushed at the beginning, with the amuse bouche arriving at the same time as the starter, but us then having to ask for the main plates to be cleared as they’d been on the table so long. Also beware this restaurant is full of those wishing to get a photo for social media, who disrupt dinner by nudging into the corners near the view. We will not visit again and certainly wouldn’t recommend it.
For those who are planning to come duringbthe winter,
For those who are planning to come duringbthe winter, please note that the terrace is closed during the Winter. You will not have the gorgeous view of the Eiffel Tower while dining here between the months of December - February. I made the mistake of coming here in January and was seated inside. That was disappointment #1. I ordered the seafood platter for 49 euros. That platter STANK! Disappointment #2. The oysters smelled rotten. The shrimp meat was mushy and also smelled rotten. I addressed it with the host and he would not remove and refund me eventhough I only ate 1 oyster from the platter. Beef was chewy and seabass was way over cooked.
Was greatly disappointed in the overall service of our
Was greatly disappointed in the overall service of our waiter during our dinner on 11/14/23. We were out there celebrating our anniversary. He did not properly explain our menu when we saw him going in details with the menu at another table. We had stated that it was out Anniversary and there was no special note written or anything to our dinner. The food I have to say was excellent however If I am paying over $300 for a dinner you bet we deserve a great service as well. Because after all when I look back at our Anniversary day, the plans don't matter if we are left with feeling like we could have been treated better.
Location & views - this is 100% what you are going here for
Location & views - this is 100% what you are going here for and it is amazing. This was on our radar early in our trip planning process and reservations are both required and competitive. We ended up reaching out to our hotel concierge before our trip to ask if they'd be able to help and secured us a reservation at 10pm. I know - very late, but having a late lunch, a drink at our hotel bar and an Uber to watch the Eiffel Tower sparkle was worth it. Due to our late reservation, it wasn't super busy and we were able to be seated outside. As expected, other diners were also tourists and our staff, even though we opened with French, spoke English almost immediately. Service was quick and easy, but let down really came from the food. Nothing spectacular or flavorful here, in my opinion - I had the filet, my boyfriend ordered fish (believe catch of the day sort of offering), a side of mashed potatoes and green beans along with cocktails and wine. Some of the best meals of my life were had the two days before this in Paris.. **highlight of the night is the square directly outside / to the right of the restaurant looking at the tower. A lot of people sitting, enjoying the sparkling view while listening to live music in square TLDR: if you're looking for views & ambiance, book now. If you're in it for the food, I'd head elsewhere
The food was amazing.
This is one of the best restaurants we have been to in this area. Very nice view and knowledgeable staff. Highly recommended?
The food was okay, nothing to write home about.
We went here with hopes of a beautiful view but unfortunately it was very windy so the patio was closed.

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!
This app is life changing
This app has opened my world up to so many wonderful new experiences I would never have the chance to have without access to this awesome app! 10/10!
Worked perfectly
Was a little nervous at first but was pleased to see that the booking went through flawlessly.
Highly recommended.
Success on Short Notice
Was able to snag an indoor table at Don Angie through an absolutely seamless worry-free process.
Worked perfectly, thank you!
This is a crazy holiday season in NYC and I was very pleasantly surprised to see that AppointmentTrader works! Will be using again!
Worked flawlessly!
Worked so well! I was a bit nervous, but everything went very smoothly. purchased the reservation, and got into the restaurant seamlessly.
Love this app!
So glad I came across this app :)
Quick table in Miami
I didn’t have my hopes high as it was a party of 4. In 24 hours I had a carbone reservation available! I was very happy as my family really wanted to come here
Prime time, great meal
So easy and had a prime time which I can never seem to get on normal res apps. So worth it
Got impossible NYC res
instead of waiting weeks I got my 4 charles reservation instantly
Worked perfectly to get into Carbone. So delighted
perfect
Worked well, got me into a restaurant with no availability
I was skeptical, and I still don't really know how they managed to find this hard-to-find reservation, but it was a win-win from my point of view, and I'll use this service again.
Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.
Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
Payouts Blocked Because of Sell Through Rate
Does anyone know how AT plans to handle cases where a seller is quitting the platform but has a sell through rate <25%? The error message I got said to fill more bids or find other ways to increase the rate.
Is AT really going to block sellers from withdrawing their money? Especially revenue made before the sell through rate was introduced??
Tune into NBC News - Top Story Tonight 7:40p ET
Let’s go. Get more people placing bids!
I will give you 50% of ALL of my PROFITS if you teach me how to make profits?
LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.
Appointment
Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil
🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🧨🧨🧨 now on to 30 mill!
Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
