I had an incredible experience sitting at the bar for dinner. Ariana is fun, witty, and makes incredible drinks. She made our entire evening and we will absolutely be back because of her!

Great spot for awesome cocktails and superior food.
One night in Asheville and I am glad that we picked this spot for dinner. Service was great. We sat at the bar and Arianna was our server. The cocktails and recommendations were spot on. I would go there again if I come back to Asheville. Everything we ate was awesome.

Fabulous Food served in Retro-vibe setting
“Cool” dining atmosphere - very retro vibe. Fabulous food with nice variety for us “plant-based” eaters. Unique speciality cocktails. Our server, Eddie, was terrific - very warm, kind and had several suggestions regarding menu items. Would definitely eat here again.

Jargon is a true delight
Jargon is a true delight again and again and again! The ambience the service and of course the food are always spot on. We can't wait until our next visit!
Jargon was absolutely FANTASTIC! The food was so delicious, the drinks were tasty, and we had the most incredible server, Katelyn. The owner, Sean, was there and made it a point to speak to every table. This is a very special place. Highly recommend!
Our experience was superb! I have dined at Jargon many times and it has always been consistently a great experience. On this visit I took a client who had never been. We were greeted at the door by the charming hostees who showed us to our seats. We sat at the bar and the two female bartenders were very charming, engaging and made great cocktails. We shared several small dishes that were delicious. The chef was spot on for our meal. Before we left, the owner took time to greet us, which made my client as well as myself feel special. When you find a place with great servers, bartenders and incredible food, it's hard to go anywhere else when dining out. Love this restaurant!
The staff was attentive but the food was lacking. Quite a disappointment after reading all the good reviews. The brussel sprouts were a little creepy with the fluttering bonito flakes. The serving size enough for 3 people. The brisket and the beets were over salted. The trout was pretty good, if doused in butter. For dessert we had the ganache, which true to its name was essentially a ganache, thick and heavier than a mousse. The single serving was too much even for two people. I’m certain that others would enjoy the meal, but we found the flavors to be rather dull. Perhaps too subtle for our tastes.

Not as good as the reviews said

I ordered the ribeye and after quite a while it came out room temperature and was soon cold halfway through the meal. The marrow butter was a frozen patty that never did melt on the cold steak. Service was slow in general. Demanding bums and druggies outside the restaurant really didn't add to the experience. I likely won't return.

The service was spot on and the food was absolutely delicious! I would highly recommend Jargon for a date night or a night out with friends!
😍
excellent experience all around!
What an absolute treat it was to dine here. The food is excellent and the presentation is thoughtful and creative ( you have to try the brussels sprouts with bonito flakes). The ambiance is so cozy and chic, and the staff friendly and helpful. Of all the places we went, this gets our vote for best restaurant in Asheville.

I had higher than normal expectations - my friend talked
I had higher than normal expectations - my friend talked this place up and well, the menu prices of this place makes it a more "special occasion" kind of place, for me at least. I have no problems paying more than I normally do for a meal if you get what you pay for and this place does not disappoint one bit. From the outside it seems that this place would be on the smaller side as far as the dining room goes but that was not the case here. There was plenty of room in the back and they have things set up nicely with tables and use their space in such a way where all the seats are nice and you don't feel cramped when dining here.As far as the food goes, is it pricey? Sure, but you get what you pay for. I was very happy with just about everything I was able to try. I ordered the Cauliflower Soup and Monkfish Entree. Holy moly both were amazing. The soup was seasoned nice, not too hot, not too cold, and was a nice sized portion. The Monkfish entree was probably the best Monkfish meal I have ever had. If there was one small gripe - and I mean I am reaching here - is the portion was a little on the smaller side but this is not a showstopper for me by a long shot. Plus, considering all the other stuff my friends and I shared, I had plenty to eat overall. We ordered dessert to share, the Molé Spiced Financier Cake, Chai Spiced Coconut Pudding, and the Purple Sweet Potato Cheesecake. The Molé cake was my favorite. The coffee here is really nice too, I enjoyed it with dessert. Our server was helpful in telling us the blend they use and where we could get them from (The Beanwerks Coffee Shop down the street).Speaking of service, we all had a very good experience and the wait staff was very friendly and attentive. Our server was really great and she made our dining experience all the more better. Whenever I come back to Asheville (hopefully soon), I will def try to come back again.P.S. - Try the Black Pepper Pappardelle, unless you are not okay with rabbit. This was REALLY good...

There were so many lovely details about our dinner at Jargon. The service was friendly without being too much. The dishes were all so uniquely prepared with seeds and light sauces and perfect seasonings. HH and I shared 4 small dishes and the trout main course.

Sometimes you CAN go home again!
Covid has taken a toll on many aspects of our lives so it was really nice to return to a restaurant whose value, service and quality remains undiminished...perhaps even better. Thanks to the manager Kyle, our server, Reign and Chef for a lovely experience! The whole red snapper and the fenugreek ice cream were a dream!
😍
My valentine was a fish
We went here for Valentine's Day and it was my first visit. It did not disappoint. The Icebreaker drink was incredible. The server cracks the ice cube with the drink inside of it and it was a fun experience. We got the holiday special which was a whole snapper crusted, and it was amazing. My partner and I are locals and we eat in Asheville very often, and this restaurant is definitely our top choice for a nice night out. You would be missing out not to eat here.
😍
A definite go to for friendly service and quality food
My husband and I had dinner at Jargon on Valentines Day. The service, the food, and the ambiance were top notch! If you’re ever in Asheville go there!!
😍
It is one of the very best restaurants in Asheville.
If you want to experience something special this is definitely the place to go. Georgia

Fun place, great food, friendly staff
We loved it! Our group of 4 sat on the back patio which is done up nice. The atmosphere was great. The whole restaurant has a cool style and aura about it. We really enjoyed all the food we had, especially the pork chop! And after speaking to the owner and getting to know more about the place and how it go its name (great little story) we were persuaded to get the desert cocktail which was SO good!

The best service we've had in AVL and amazing food! We had to wait a little past our reservation but it was totally worth it. Eddy was an amazing server, and the menu + drinks were well thought out.
Jargon is a fun, trendy restaurant in West Asheville with a cozy vibe inside and in their back courtyard area. We chose mostly from the small plates section of the menu, going with all recommendations from our waiter Eddie. The Brussel Sprouts and Fingerling Potatoes were amazing and the Financier dessert was the perfect ending to a fun evening! Thank you Jargon - we WILL be back!
The food. The atmosphere. The visuals. The ambiance. The flavors. The spinning vinyl. The decor. The uniqueness. The staff. All come together to give you one of the best dining experiences in Asheville. The daily changing menu makes this place incredibly rare and special.

My partner and I visited Asheville last March and one of the highlights was our dinner at Jargon! Particularly incredible was not only the numerous vegan dishes, but how delicious they were! For vegan diners & meat-eaters alike. The service was great -- the staff really understands hospitality. Don't miss it.

We dined here recently.
I live part of the year in AVL and am familiar with the amazing restaurants our town offers. Jargon was special in terms of the cuisine and our server. The cuisine is unique, favorful and creative. Our server was professional, pleasant and informative. This rating is based solely on the bar who took an unreasonable amount of time to provide our cocktails and wine. We were nearly finished with our meal courses each time when they finally arrived. Very disappointing for a restaurant of this caliber, definitely affected our experience at Jargon.
🙂
ambience was super appealing.
felt like the price for what was served was incongruent, but the service was spectacular, patient, and very communicative.got the wrong order and had something made wrong, couldn't do a remake cause it was the last order of the dish made for the night. they were very apologetic and didn't charge. they had vegan/gf options but it felt limited and i felt like i had to make it very clear that this was something to take into account, and then the order wound up having yogurt. again, very well accommodated and very relaxing environment. the food wasn't my favorite, but it wasn't bad or poorly made.

Do you want to experience one of the best dining
Do you want to experience one of the best dining experiences in Asheville? We'll look no further. This place was an absolute dream. A symphonic culinary night out with my husband. There is so much love and care going into every aspect of this restaurant. The hosts, wait staff, bartender, chef, and owner were all actively engaged and truly cared about the atmosphere they were cultivating. The decor and music matched the ambiance of a romantic and classy night out. We started off with complimentary champagne for us to celebrate our anniversary (how sweet), followed by a couple of authenticity crafted cocktails. They were delicious! For appetizers we tried the white chocolate-parsnip dill soup and cornmeal crusted shrimp with a fresh slaw. I was so impressed with the flavor combinations on the soup, truly original. The shrimp was cooked to tender juicy perfection and fried cornmeal was a pleasant texture combination. For dinner we had the duck and whole trout. Beautifully executed! I took a chance on the trout because our waitress recommended it. I said I had never been convinced by trout so I wanted to be a believer. Well folks I BELIEVE! The fish was tender on the inside with a beautifully crispy skin. The flavors were a well balance Mediterranean/Indian flare, absolutely stunning. The duck was amazing with a crispy skin and juicy perfectly cooked inside. Dessert was my just as fantastic, Chocolate ganache with sea salt and cookie crumbs accompanied by port and a cup of French press coffee. Misty was an amazing server and delivered the best service I have had the pleasure of receiving here in Asheville. The owner was attentive and truly cared about our dining experience. Thank you to all staff at Jargon for delivery the best anniversary dinner!

Jargon has a beautiful outdoor patio area that has wooden walls, a sturdy covered awning, fans and heaters. The service was top notch. The food was a little hit or miss and definitely overpriced. The Brussel sprout snack was crispy and well seasoned with a tangy sauce. The carrot starter was bland and tiny for $16 and it came out room temperature rather than warm. The big fail was the Moroccan chickpea tagine. The chickpeas were dry and undercooked, and the sauce was nondescript. To her credit, my server picked up on my response that the meal was "fine" and brought Sean the owner to ask how to make things right. I decided to switch to the Cocoa Spaghetti a la Chitarra (duck spaghetti) which was quite tasty. My husband enjoyed his tuna. They have a nice wine list and our rose was solid. I would give jargon 3.5 stars if I could, but I rounded down because if you are a farm to table restaurant with very limited options, every dish should be great.
🙂
Excellent food but expect to overpay
Food and presentation here are excellent but we definitely felt this restaurant was overpriced and surprised that it was Trip Advisor’s top rated restaurant. Rather than feeling welcomed and appreciated we were given the feeling we were fortunate to be given the privilege of eating there. This feeling did not come specifically from our server who was very nice and helpful but just a general vibe we felt making our reservation and dining here.
😍
Ambiance, delicious food, and fabulous staff
We came into town for a quick anniversary trip and this was our first stop. Let me say Jargon blew me away. We sat at the bar where Alyssa, the bartender for the night, gave us recommendations for other things to do, places to eat and drink in the city. We started with cocktails, the Ice Breaker and my husband had their martini, as recommended by Alyssa. Starters the mushrooms with a creamy black garlic miso sauce and the heirloom tomatoes. Never have I had a more delicious tomato and I grow them fresh in our backyard. We split the Moroccan tagline and Alyssa recommended a bottle of wine. The Orange wine, Skin, that we were able to drink there and bring the rest back for the night. Dessert we split the French press coffee with fresh boozy whipped cream and chocolate ganache which was extraordinarily rich. 10/10 would return. The ambiance, the employees, and of course the food and drinks made this a perfect night.
We first visited Jargon right when they opened and we returned last night, post-COVID. Wow. We thought it was excellent before, especially for a new restaurant, but they are knocking it out of the park now. The service is excellent. The patio seating (retractable roof in case of rain!) was very pleasant. The craft cocktails were inventive and the wine list had interesting choices in every price range. But the food! Wow. Every dish we tried was delicious, with complex flavors and sauces. We tried the chorizo, the local mushrooms and the corn elotes to start and had the Morroccan tagine and the tuna for main courses. I’m still thinking about the two sauces - one sweet, one savory - that the tuna came with. Desserts were also excellent - peach pavlova and malted milk ganache. Don’t let the West Asheville location deter you. It’s a quick trip over the bridge and there is ample parking. Jargon will be our go-to spot for fine dining from now on.

Service was friendly and outstanding.
Food was delicious. Highly recommend. The owner was there and cared about the quality of the experience.

Outstanding on Our Second Visit
A barely known place on our first visit, now in battle for number one in Asheville. As before, very creative dishes with marvelous flavors. Very nice wine list as a bonus. Ambiance of a thoughtful dining experience.
😍
Fabulous birthday celebration
Four of us had a delightful evening at Jargon celebrating a birthday. We were greeted warmly and taken quickly to our reserved table on the patio. The patio is a lovely oasis away from street views and sounds. Our waitress was extremely helpful in choosing dishes for a tapas style evening. Service was impeccable, food was not only beautifully presented but the flavors were exquisite, cocktails were interesting and tasty. If I had any complaint it would be that the food came out too quickly. I prefer to finish my cocktail before the food arrives but we were only one sip in when our first dish arrived. We are locals and will return often.
🙂
Great romantic seating for an anniversary, complimentary
Great romantic seating for an anniversary, complimentary champagne flutes to mark the occasion. The drinks menu was special and varied, with house barrel aged choices. Apps, smalls and larges were fresh and local, portion sizes were on the smaller side but delicious with views of the kitchen working away while you work your way through the menu.
Jargon is a fantastic restaurant! The menu is inventive and refreshing. The portions are good. It has an intimate dining room or a great outdoor setting. The staff is attentive and prompt and the decor is fun! Jargon has an extensive, curated wine list. It is our go to place for special occasions, to take out of town visitors or just swing by for a casual meal! I highly recommend Jargon!!

Dining during a monsoon
Reservations for the courtyard in what started as a sunny, comfortable evening..server assured us that if there was a pop up thunderstorm, the roof would close and we would be dry..well, the heavens opened up, the roof was deployed, but as the minutes went on,the sheer amount of rain blowing sideways could not totally be kept away from our table. The staff was extremely attentive, first helping us to move our table to a dryer spot, and when that did not work, finding us seating inside during a fully booked dinner time. The food was excellent, the service great, and we laughed during the entire experience. Note that we were the only outside table that seemed to be inconvenienced by the rain..all the other diners seemed to remain dry.. we found out later that a storm cell had parked itself over West Asheville..it literally poured for 1/2 hour. When we got home to North Asheville, we had no rain whatsoever. We would definitely go back and sit in the courtyard again.
We were seated outside (highly recommend) and Jay who was training another employee, was attentive and offered suggestions from a creative menu. We had the trout, and two appetizers that were exquisite. The peppercorn martini was a new experience that I have since emulated at home.
Found this gem through Trip Advisor. Better than advertised. Appetizers through dessert were wonderful, tasty and creative. Best pork chops I've ever had. It was worth the price. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. This place pays attention to detail. I strongly recommend this restaurant.

Great food! Excellent atmosphere!! Even better service! We really enjoyed ourselves! The caviar was missing from the fish but we still enjoyed it.
Second visit here, one year later. Warm, gracious welcome. Nice rear patio, also locale of our first visit. Server this time was Mara, who is knowledgeable, attentive, just the right touch. Wish my three guests didn’t all order the same entree, trout, which they enjoyed. I had a massive pork chop with a wonderful mustard on the side. Delicious. We shared a creative cucumber gazpacho and two orders of downright memorable summer squadh croquettes. The whole fun of dining here-like all really good restaurants-is enjoying tastes you’ve never savoured before. A real joy. We shared two deserts, a “financier cake,” and a decadent chocolate ganache. Smiles all around.

It was awkward to say the least.
My friends used to love this place so they were dying to take me here. It was uncomfortable with an outside table a bachelorette party loudly taking place next to us. Very expensive wine with really crappy glassware. The starters were okay but only about 4 mains to choose from and very pricey. They manager was awkward at best and we decided to finish our meal somewhere else. Too bad I was looking forward to this experience but I don't think I'd return
