Peking duck is probably the best in Miami and their best
Peking duck is probably the best in Miami and their best dish. The wild mushroom lo mein and the Seabass with truffle is delicious. The sushi is very good and they have a large selection of rolls. Dim sun is also wonderful.Service is better if you dine early. Once it gets busy, service is slow and not what one expects from this type of restaurant. The ambiance is very nice and space is beautiful. Great for a special celebration...

Came here with my girlfriends and will say it did not disappoint. Great food & ambience. Staff was very generous as we were going to be seated in the first floor but were accommodating and allowed us to be seated on the second floor. First time trying wagyu beef dumplings and they were so delicious! The Wagyu skirt steak was very flavorful, but will say it is a good amount to share with two people. After dinner, we headed to the lounge. Great music and vibes. 10/10.

Excelente comida, platos bien presentados y con tremendo sabor. El servicio es de primera calidad, muy buen ambiente.
I am a big fan of Peking Duck, and I have had it at many fine restaurants. Komodo's version was superb. Perfectly melted fat, crisp skin, great. But no head, and a bun option would have been nice. Almost perfect otherwise.
🙂

Good! Steak tacos are sooooo delicious but extremely small for the price. Restaurant was beautiful. Service was good and quick.

Great ambience and very delicious food.
I had the most delicious vegan meal I've ever tried in my life while eating out. Good sushi too.

My friends and I made reservations for a party of 5 in
My friends and I made reservations for a party of 5 in advanced on a Saturday night around 6:30 pm. We arrived a tad late as there was a significant amount of traffic and the bridge just had to go up when we were a few cars away from the last light. Even so, the hostess was able to seat us right away to through their encapsulating establishment to their third level. We got seated at a low table and two benches that were too close for us to squeeze in. For drinks we tried a variety including lychee martini, La Fete du Rose, Ginger passion fruit mule, Girl from Ipanema, Fortunes Told, Dragon Ball CBD, and espresso martini (yes we finished every single one). We all thoroughly enjoyed our drinks hence why we continued to try others. My favorite was probably the espresso martini as it was strong and a necessary pick-me-up for the rest of the night. Everything was ordered family style which is always my preferred way of eating. Our appetizers consisted of Lobster Dynamite, shishito peppers, Money bag dumplings, Wagyu beef dumplings, Tuna & Toro maki, Toro special, and dragon maki for the small bites. As with the drinks, the presentation was on point as well as the flavors. The dishes that really stood out were the Lobster Dynamite and Wagyu dumplings, and Toro special. Plump pieces of lobster are served on top of crispy fried portions of rice. The wagyu dumplings were juicy and served of a delicious and savory soy sauce I just wanted to drink. The money bag dumplings came out after and just did not stand a chance in comparison as a result. As it was my first time having Toro, I was not disappointed by the fresh and fatty sensation it provided. For entrees we shared the wild mushroom lo mein, peking duck, special fried rice, and crispy brussel sprouts. The lo mein seemed more Italian than asian, which isn't a bad thing but rather unexpected. Fried rice was served in a ceramic Chinese takeout container and tasted great. I am a huge fan of peking duck and was not crazy about the one here. The meat was not as moist and the skin not as crispy as I am used to. Having it with the sliced cucumber and scallions in the thin mandu skin helped. Brussel sprouts were slightly greasy.Dessert was a matcha shortcake and scoop of buckwheat ice cream. We were incredibly full by the end of the meal but had to whip out our second stomachs. Deciding on the cake, we were more than satisfied as it was soft and slightly sweet green tea flavored. The ice cream was reminiscent of vanilla but better. Overall, I had a wonderful experience from our attentive waiter and other staff members to the phenomenal food and the calm, cool, and collective ambience. Because it is more upscale, the price and dress code represent those standards. 18% tip is automatically included as a fair warning for those who may not check the bill. I would love, love to come again!
🤮
I will not be returning to your restaurant in the future.
My previous experience on 02/22/22 was very disappointing. Despite having made a reservation, it took over 30 minutes for us to be seated at our table. Our table was located outside and was difficult to reach, with no shade to protect us from the heat. The table itself was extremely small and uncomfortable to sit at. My husband ordered an Old Fashioned, which was poorly made and watery. The food also took a long time to arrive and was too large to fit comfortably on the small table. To make matters worse, the quality of the food did not meet the standards I would expect from a restaurant of your location. All in all, my experience was very disappointing, especially considering the money we spent.Thank you for your attention to this matter. I hope this feedback helps you improve your services in the future. Sincerely, Gabriella Marmolejo
😍
Now I understand why everyone comes to Komodo!
You have to ask Junior, the bartender, for his tequila espresso martini, and for his opinion on the best dishes on the menu. I had the spicy tuna roll and was amazed by the flavor and texture of each bite. Oscar and Lindsay were friendly and attentive. It's nice to see bartenders working as a team to ensure a great guest experience.
😍
First time in Komodo and it did not disappoint.
We were a group of 4, celebrating a bday. The restaurant is on the pricier side, but everything we ordered was delicious. We ordered the lobster dynamite, wagyu steak tacos, pork sticky ribs, dragon rolls, Szechuan steak (amazing), fried chicken, and fried rice. Everything taste phenomenal! Our waiter was attentive. Great ambiance although I does get full around 9pm. You can valet park or self park.
😍
They have the best crab lo mein, everyone is friendly.
I will definitely be going back.

Happening Restaurant in Miami

Great vibrant sushi restaurant in Miami. The atmosphere is very vibrant and nice. the bar is huge and happening. I would recommend asking for sitting outdoors. service is great and some of the items which we tried and liked were miso seabass skewers, soba noodles, truffle mushroons, and tuna and toro. i did not like the sweet potatos. A drink i can recommend is Ginger Passion Mule.
🙂
I went on a Saturday Night and despite having a reservation
I went on a Saturday Night and despite having a reservation we waited about 45 mins for our table cause it was PACKED downstairs. This is def the place you come to dressed up and not in sweats, because the vibe is giving elevated for sure. Once we sat and ordered however, food was DELICIOUS! I got the Korean fried chicken, kimchi rice, and soba noodles and it was quite heavenly. Tip however when ordering--portions are quite big so it's the kind of place where you want to share your food with others so you can try different things. The items are expensive so if you don't have it like that, choose wisely! There is also a club at the very top floor so if you're down to clown right after, it was cold af in there but the DJ was BOOMIN'.Legit it was only knocked a star because of the that long wait despite the reservation.

Oh. My. Goodness. Talk about FLAVOR explosion.Dining at
Oh. My. Goodness. Talk about FLAVOR explosion.Dining at Komodo was hands down my and my husbands all time best dining experiences.Ambiance- this place beams of sexy and sultry vibes. The red, black and golden colors mesh beautifully with the decor and the music was Miami meets 90s r&b nostalgia. We were vibing.Service- with a place this big, with so many other guests, and it being Saturday night, we assumed service would be mediocre. Our waiter was so welcoming, so friendly and very eager to share not only his recommendations for food, but also provide us samples of thr some we were planning to pair the food with! Knowing we were there celebrating an anniversary, he went above and beyond to ensure our drinks were never left u filled, constantly checked on us and even gave my husband a sample of a spicier sauce to pair with the short rib. He was very conversational and at the end of the dinner, we found out we were his FIRST table he ever served. This man deserved a raise on his first day. I'm so bummed I forgot his name but will do my best to track down and update this. Food- pro tip- go with a big group and order literally everything. The items we got were the wild mushroom truffle lo mein, shirt rib (ORDER THIS), Korean fried chicken and himachi spicy crispy rice. Skip the Korean fried chicken and optFor the wagyu but holy moly, each of these were insanely flavorful and I would probably askFor the lo mein and thr short rib as part of my death row meal. YUMWe can't wait to go back and try something new!
😍
Great good, great atmosphere.
Love the Komodo dragon show. Recommend this place but be sure to make reservations.
😍
Komodo is a staple and never disappoints.
This is my first time going on a weekday. I made reservations online. This was a birthday celebration for my daughter. The waiter was helpful and polite. The cereal rock shrimp is the star of the show! Weird combo but highly recommended to try it! My salmon was juicy and well grilled. Beautiful atmosphere great for pictures. A little pricey. Great for special occasions or date night!
For the food....Peking duck may be the only delicious dishes here...
Amazingly Beautiful Restaurant. The food is Southeast Asian plates and taste wonderful. I think it is worth the money if you are looking for a spectacular atmosphere once in a while.
🤮
Do not bother, not a good restaurant
Booked a table for two, 6 weeks in advance. Arrived an hour before the reservation, checked in and waited at the bar. Reminded the hostess after 45 mins and was shown to our table on the hour. Only it was not a table and it was not in the restaurant!. We were taken outside to a bistro table upstairs with bistro stools. We explained that we had a reservation for a table in the restaurant but were told that this was all that they had. We could see over 20 empty tables and when we pointed this out we were told that they were all reserved!! It was clear that most of the tables were for parties or 4, 6 and above. This is clearly a party place and NOT a restaurant. We left. Terrible place, Zuma is much better. We live in Miami and eat at the restaurants every week but we will not be back here.
😍
Sit outside and get the duck!
Very cool decor. Swanky scene. Every bite was awesome. The pecking duck is a great share plate. The Chilean sea bass is awesome but a small portion. The lo main is creamy and very different than traditional versions. If you have a big group ask to sit outside and upstairs. They have private birds nests hanging in the sky with seating. Coolest thing I’ve ever seen. The outdoor area is covered and feels like a jungle. I’d recommend those tables.

Many times I went and always the food ,drinks and service are wonderful I wish to come back soon Great place
Really nothing to be crazy about. Girls at front very unfriendly and have attitude. Once we ordered the food it came out in 3 minutes which tells me everything is pre made. Portions are very small and we were not impressed Average food at best. Waiter is slow. Doesn't follow up Cant wait to leave

Good food and cockatiels, and nice party after dinner
Been there with a friend. We ordered dim sum with seabass and shrimp, some sushi with spicy tuna and the noodles with king crab. Everything was good. The dim sum was a bit too delicate, I felt like it was slightly tasteless. The mix of the fill was composed by more seabass vs shrimp which I’m fine with but I would have added a bit of salt or more shrimp in the mix. Food for thought ;) the sushi was amazing, one of the best ever had. The noodles were also very good but somehow a bit difficult to digest and the noodle was a bit over cooked. Cocktails and service also very good. Went to the lounge after dinner and there was a very nice party. Overall a very good experience, just a coupon of details to improve
🙂
Delicious Pan-Asian food in a trendy setting.
Lots of different opinions voiced here for what is a very popular / busy restaurant. It has an almost nightclub vibe with the incredibly low-lighting and loud music, but I enjoyed the atmosphere, and I loved the food. A lot of people seem to have quarrel with the service, so I just wanted to put on record that the waiting staff were superb, especially the waiter who took the food order who was very patient and helpful for my GF partner. It is a little pricey, but some really nice food and cocktails in the heart of downtown Miami.
🤮
People hype this place up but honestly extremely overrated.
The aesthetic is cool but recommend only going for a drink to check it out. The food is pricey for very mediocre food. Also for such a highly regarded place the customer service was awful. I came with two friends and we waited over 45 minutes for a table even though we had a reservation. Also, if you aren't dressed in head to toe designer you can count on getting a bad table and being rushed throughout the meal.

I went here with three others at the table, We shared the Steamed Edamame (5/5), Wagyu Beef Dumplings (4/5) and Vegetable (3/5) + Special Fried Rice (4/5) . All were delicious but my main plate, Wild Mushroom Lo Mein with the Black Truffle (5/5) was amazing. Super filling and creamy. Highly recommend visiting here with some friends to share a few plates. Definitely recommend the Spicy Jaja Margarita (5/5) too!
🤮
Expensive and impersonal.
The only descent dish was the duck . The hostess was rude and the service was slow.
😒
Pros: excellent service, great music, great ambience.
We went for Miami Spice and had a good time. The drinks were delicious and the desserts were magical!Cons: my appetizer and entre were simply okay. The sea bass dumplings tasted old, the hamachi sushi was okay, it was supposed to be spicy and I didn't taste much of anything, kind of bland. I also ordered a $20 old fashioned and it was served with several ice cubes, if I'm paying that much for an old fashioned, I want a large single ice cube, not several little ice cubes that water down the drink. Very disappointed that the prices don't match the quality I was expecting.
😒
My first impression about the place was wow, but the minute
My first impression about the place was wow, but the minute we walk to the host I was very disappointed. The two hosts there super arrogant, they did not smile or even say welcome to Komodo. One of them closed the door on the face of my wife, which was very rude. Other than that, food was delicious and our server was top 10.
😍
I truly enjoyed my experience here.
There was a beautiful ambiance and delicious food. Definitely recommend!

The food was great! Our server very knowledgeable and helpful with any questions. We had a great time, definitely will be back. The wagyu steak was awesome and the ribs as well. Old fashioned was pretty good.
🙂
The restaurant has a loungy vibe.
Beautiful people and the music makes the spot super in. The food is good, the fusion of Asian flavours with regular cuisine gives a special touch to the dishes. I strongly recommend the branzino and the Chilean sea bass. The fish is so fresh that it almost feels like a petal in your mouth.
😍

I went to Komodo for my birthday and the staff was absolutely amazing. They went above and beyond to make sure the night was extra special. The presentation of each dish was unique and delicious. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who is coming to Miami. 5-star service!
We like it for the Peking Duck. Kids love it. The ambiance is great. A Dave Grutman restaurant; so it will be very good (all his restaurants are great). The sushi is also very good.
🤮
Overpriced, pushed out in a hurry, and rude bouncers at the door
We had a party of five at Komodo. The food was average and prices were exorbitant and extremely high. Two small pieces of nigiri, which were smaller than my son’s finger, cost almost $30. We had a few plates of sushi, fried chicken, two glasses of wine, and two appetizers and spent almost $400! Notably, they also rushed us out and the tables were packed together so you can barely move. As we left, I was bumped by several servers and the bouncer at the door was very rude to us because we paused at the entrance for a moment. We do not recommend this place, and will also be telling the rest of our friends and family in Miami about this bad experience. We will not be visiting again. This should not be the experience in such an expensive restaurant! One good point: Our waiter was lovely, pleasant, and helpful.
Without a doubt one of the top 10 meals of my life. The peking duck and stuffed mushrooms were perfectly prepared and presented. Mouthwatering and memorable... and the staff was on point in every part of the experience.

I ate here with my wife and teenage daughter recently. Unfortunately, my daughter contracted violent food poisoning after eating the fried rice and edamami. My wife also had gastro issues. I had previously commented that the food arrived so quickly after we ordered that it could not possibly be being prepared freshly. If only I had listed to my gut instinct! The server suggested that it must be an allergy which I feel is extremely unlikely as we often eat Asian or Asian-fusion food and have never had the issue before. We had not eaten since breakfast so it also seems unlikley that another meal was the cause. Apart from the food poisoning, the quality of the food is mediocre at best and the ambiance a little forced and silly.
😍
Excellent food and presentation of dishes.
Everything was very tasty. The service was also excellent:)
🤢
Komodo restaurant was recommended by a friend.
The decor is awesome and great vibes. Many beautiful people around. We had a nice waiter. But the pleasures end there. The highly anticipated dinner ended up being a complete fiasco. Genuinely. I brought my friends visiting from Boston to celebrate their birthday. We ordered some rolls (the Komodo roll, dragon roll), dim sum dumplings, Korean chicken and Japanese sweet potato. In all honesty, the rolls were the worst I had in at least the last year: zero flavor, extremely small amount of fish compared with a whole lot of rice (which was entirely bland and loose), and the presentation itself was 2 out of 10 (see photos attached). Their Japanese sweet potato was insipid -- essentially just a potato topped with tasteless sauce. The Korean chicken was extremely dry with almost no spices/sauce to mitigate the lack of flavor. Dim sum was actually quite good (the only decent dish from our order), while the tea arrived in teapots without lids and got cold right away.Shockingly, when we spoke with the manager and asked to replace the rolls with something else, he told us no. "Next time we will serve you better but we'll take the rolls off the bill." That's great but we were hungry, disappointed, and awaiting good food, as we hardly ate the other dishes. To top it all off, we asked if the restaurant could at least offer us some coffee and dessert in lieu of the disappointing dinner. Specifically, I mentioned it's my friend's birthday and said that I hope there is something you could do to please try and improve this evening and the lacklustre dishes that we ordered. In response, we were still charged for our dessert and coffees. We booked and planned this dinner well in advance and were greatly looking forward to having a fantastic meal... the restaurant was highly recommended but ended up embarrassing me with my friends visiting from out of town on their birthday. For the reputation and price tag of an establishment like this, I would have thought the management would have tried their best to improve the situation. Instead we left hungry and thoroughly dissatisfied.Very disappointing overall experience.
🙂
Great dining experience! One of the best service attentive
Great dining experience! One of the best service attentive restaurants I've been too. When my water was half full, the waiter would immediately fill it to keep it whole. The food was very good and not ridiculously expensive either. The music and vibe is exactly what I was looking for. Overall great experience and a must try if ever in Miami!
🙂

Great meal and great ambiance! The only thing that was a bit lacking was how long it took them to get us seated. The restaurant is huge and jam packed when we went and we had to inquire about our table twice. As far as the meal go. here's how i would rate some of the dishes we got from best to good:1) kimchi fried rice - spicy and yummy. You dont miss the meat at all. Must get! 2) miso chocolate temptation - kind of amodern take on a hershey pie but with gold flaked popcorn to add a crunch and layers of chocolate mousse/icecream. Pretty delish especially if you like chocolate. 3) miso chilean seabass skewers - melt like butter in your mouth and yummy. Definetly could do with another round. 4) The korean fried chicken was a heaping plateful and delicious but nothing that left a mark to be ordered again. 5) The dragon roll was as good as any dragon roll go. We sat at the bar as the bartenders did their thing while we waited for our table. Our servers were very attentive and checked up on us frequently to see if we needed anything else. All in all, cant wait to be back.
😍

Really cool vibe , food is great , menu is on the expensive side but it's worth it !!
🤮
Service was unapologetically cold.
I was running late and called them and there was no leniency for being 15 minutes late. They could've said "we'll put you at the next available table" but the answer was a cold "no" over and over again. We thankfully got there in time and they put us in a corner table away from the main area. I dressed up for the occasion as it was my birthday and definitely didn't feel like we should've been sat there. When I asked to move they also had a "no" as their only answer. People come here for a special occasion and plan to spend a lot. If they have an ask and want a little customer service then you should really accommodate that. This place didn't care because they have plenty of business. Also food wise I've had better Asian fusion for less. Won't be coming back again.
😍
This place is a definitely must visit.
The atmosphere was so cozy but causal. The food was all delicious and the service was amazing Parking : There is valet parking as well as street parking. Service : we came around 7:30 on a Monday and it was fairly crowded. However we have reservations and was seated within a few minutes . Our server was Gianni (I may have spelled that wrong) and he was probably one of the most attentive servers I have ever encountered. He knew just about every item on the menu and recommended amazing dishes. Made us feel comfortable and was so informative. Definitely ask for him if you are there Food: can't say I ever been to a place where everything was just so good. The sushi was fresh, the ribs were so tender that they fell off the bone , and the desserts were a perfect way to end the night. My favorite dish is probably the lobster dynamite or the honey salmon sushi. The lobster dynamite had a perfect crispy bottom and the honey salmon sushi had such a nice blend with the truffle oil. Honestly all the sushi was good. The halo halo is a must try. It was just so light and not too sweet. The chocolate temptation was richly and creamy . Can't go wrong with either one , just which one you prefer . Drinks: we got the Pikachu , and it was strong but definitely good.
😍
I just love this place beautiful women amazing food and go
I just love this place beautiful women amazing food and go to music what else could you ask for everything is just cook the perfection and the duck is just amazing
5 star review if I could because they were the best dumplings I've ever eaten in my life. The server first of all kept making weird jokes and making little jabs at our table which seemed highly inappropriate. He also commented on the amount my friend was ordering which was rude. Wagyu dumplings were amazingggg but also gave me horrible acid reflex. Don't order the chicken salad. My friend got it and it tasted like nothing. The price and reputation of this place is what brings it to a 3 out of 5
😍
Such a kind, polite and accommodating staff.
Great food! And an elegant rainforest kind of feel. We loved it!
