Expensive tourist trap in need of an upgrade.

I don’t know where to start. I have dined at many Michelin star restaurants all over and they all have certain standards. I have been dissatisfied/disappointed with several Michelin star restaurants in Rome. La Pergola was not an exception. In my honest opinion, this is not a place that deserves 3 stars. The decor is tacky and outdated to say the least. If they offer you an “aperitivo”, that means 30 euros per glass of Prosecco or Spumante. The food is mediocre, non creative and extremely expensive for what it is. I don’t think it’s worth paying 70 euros for a risotto with fennel that I can make. We paid 500 euros for edible food but nothing impressive. The service was also all over the place. Even one of my favorite wines Gavi di Gavi “La Scolca” seemed off, corked. The whole place needs some serious updating.

View of the Vatican is sublime. So what's not to love? I don't know? The whole night felt uninspired. Food came out with robotic consistency as if to keep us 'on track' and every dish just felt like matter of fact inevitability. Also for a *** star, kind of surprised we didn't get a little parting gift or copy or the menu, which has been customary for so many upscale experiences that we have been lucky to go to. I'd give it a better review but considering the fact that it's out of the way from all the good stuff in Rome and there are tons of other culinary delights, this one seems like a hard sell unless you are staying at the hotel, which we did. FYI - hotel is not within walking distance of anything interesting or worth checking out. Also, the hotel is cool but from a different time. Part old-school riches mixed with stark fascist architecture. I am happy/lucky that I did get a reservation and was able to have this once in a lifetime experience though, so for all those who have the means, please enjoy.

My fiancé and I loved every minute of it. The food was incredible. We got the 10 course because we have a bit of a fomo aspect. I have an almond allergy and normally the substitutes are alright but La Pergola really just impressed me with the dishes they made for me given my allergy (one is the picture attached). The wine pairing was very generous and the sommelier was extremely informative and kind. And now the view - THE VIEW. The photos don't do it justice. It's absolutely breathtaking. In regards to the "mens jackets dress code" we sat outside with a 7:30pm time in august and my fiancé had forgotten to pack a jacket. We weren't met with any hardship from the restaurant and it wasn't even brought up. We were a bit nervous with what we had read online so posting about it i case anyone else has a similar issue!

We did the ten course tasting menu, and after every dish we literally said WOW. Usually on a tasting menu I feel like there are one or two standout dishes, but on this menu, every single dish was a standout.The biggest difference to me between the 7 and 10 course was the lobster - but oh man was the lobster worth it The ravioli (their signature) was crazy - every single one just burst in my mouth like the most delicious pocket of cream. I wanted a whole pile of themIt is a pretty steep bill, but it was entirely worth it especially to celebrate a special occasion!

Ist, this place has excellent potential and the view is nice.We were hear weeks ago. Unfortunately, the customer service wasn't that great. Our waitress acted like she didn't want to work and gave us bad attitudes. We were afraid to ask her for anything. So I decided to ask for a different waiter but the place was booked. The food was good and the place was nice, I just wish we had a different server then her. Ruined our mood.

We've been to a few Michelin star restaurants including a couple of 3 star restaurants in Paris and I can say with a straight face this is the best among them all. This place gets a perfect score in my books in all 3 categories I care about, ambiance, food and services. The view this restaurant offers is incredible. Where can you find a place that allows you to see the night skyline of Roma with St. Peter's Basilica in the background while you enjoy top quality food with great presentation and incredible service? The answer is this restaurant. The food was fantastic. We had the gourmet chefs menu and those dishes did not disappoint. Every dish was perfect from presentation to the taste. The service was one of the best we've had and better than the other two 3 star restaurants that we dined in. Overall I think this is the restaurant to have dinner in when you visit Roma.

We live visiting 3 star Michelin restaurants every chance we get and La Pergola was an incredible experience to end our stay in Rome! We were joined by our teenage daughters, who have food allergies. The chef and staff were incredibly accommodating and kind. The food was unbelievable and the wine pairings blew our mind. Our only regret was not getting a family picture on the terrace. We wish we'd arrived earlier and enjoy a cocktail outside. Next time!

We had our 10. wedding anniversary and we had decided that we celebrate it in Rome where I proposed my wife 11 years ago. We took the risk and our 7 and 9 years old sons were with us. We were worrying a little bit about their behavior and about how the staff of the three-star Michelin restaurant would accept them. Our worries were absolutely unnecessary. Those people dealing with us were absolutely friendly and flexible with them. We took some minutes before our dinner on the veranda of La Pergola above the Eternal City. It was breathtaking. We felt that we could catch the Top of the Basilica di San Pietro. Afterwards we moved to our table and the inside was also amazingly beautiful. We took the 7 dishes menu. No words to describe how delicious were all. Our sons has chosen with the assistance of our waiter a starter, prosciutto and a main course, sea bass which could not be found in the menu. My older son who is already a gourmet said the this prosciutto was the best in the entire world. They also liked their branzino very much. We followed the suggestion of the sommelier with the pairing wines. His suggestion was also amazingly good. At the end of our dinner we could enjoy gorgeous deserts. The restaurant presented finally a bunch of 10 roses to my wife with an anniversary cake. Moreover we could meet with the genius chef, Mr Heinz Beck at the very end of our dinner. I should express our great tanks to the entire staff of La Pergola who has made our weddings anniversary è really memorable day.

I been to a lot of Michelin star restaurants because honestly I love food over everything so take all my money. First off the views are incredible no one can deny that. When do you ever get a chance to see all of Rome the way this place has. That is the only thing Michelin about this place. Something super random is this has a water menu I've never experienced that before they have water all over the world that you could order, another unique thing about this place. the food was subpar and unimpressive. There are far better mom and pop places you can spend 360 euros on in Italy and can be full, happy and WOW for a month. Dessert was finally the wow factor you expect at a Michelin star. There are surprise goodies everywhere in the dessert. Overall, save your money for anywhere else, unless you wanna see that view for 360 euros.

View is amazing. Food and service top notch. Chef will make his rounds and that was really cool. Jackets required. You don't have to order the 10 course, but don't think by not ordering you'll be able to spend less then 200 euros a person, you won't cause you'll want to try things like I did.

Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!

Best Answer It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!

From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.

Best Answer Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.

Best Answer Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.

What happens if my bid expires unanswered?

Best Answer Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
