First of all, to reach the restaurant L'atelier de Joël Robuchon, you have to go through the restaurant le jardinier! then climb a fairly steep staircase which is not convenient for people who have difficulty moving around, because there is no elevator to access the first floor. The reception is quite cold, without class. It feels more like entering a bar than a starred restaurant, the tables are very high like in a cafeteria (which is not convenient for the service, a little too relaxed) or you are sitting at the bar ! The lighting of the tables is very bad part of the table is lit the rest is in the shade, which is not pleasant to appreciate the visual of the dishes. The music is way too loud and the room is very noisy. It is also deplorable that there is only one toilet, man woman disabled, for the whole restaurant we have to queue to go there. On the kitchen side, we tested the 8-course "EVOLUTION MENU" tasting menu, the amuse-bouche already counts as one dish, it is only one and tiny, the smallest 1-star restaurant offers at least 3, king crab, tuna, sea bass and the soufflé are very good, we had to wait 15 minutes to be served the overcooked and rubbery sweetbread without accompaniment and wait again for the filet mignon which fortunately was delicious. the desserts were very good; as for sweets generally there are several just a small lemon pie. The big problem with this establishment is the prices, which are EXECESIVELY HIGH, the value for money is not there, it is not worth two Michelin stars. It's a big disappointment.
😍
Amazing in all the aspects!
Where do I start, we come from the restaurant downstairs which was very pretty , with a great vibe and nice crowd . After a spiral staircases we were nicely surprised about the decor and the setting of the restaurant. We were sat promptly at the table by a friendly hostess . There are some table in the dining room and even outside but we love to be in front of the kitchen , where you can see the action and didn’t minded to be next to other couples, because that’s all about, sharing the same experience. Giancarlo was the server. He was very professional and knowledgeable, he guided us through the menu and told us about the special Truffle pasta which it was a great recommendation . He is from Italy and make it our dinner experience fun since sometimes when you go in this tipe of restaurant, won’t be . We decided for the Winter menu adding the truffle pasta. All the dishes were a journey of culinary art and flavor. We will be back for sure. Thank you Giancarlo to made our night special in a so elegant and fun way. Congratulations to all of the kitchen staff for such an amazing meal. Well deserved the 2 stars Michelin.

Wow. Just wow. This place is pure perfection. I came for a late night birthday dinner on a Sunday and was blessed with the best meal I've had to date in Miami. We sat at the counter, which apparently is preferred seating style of the establishment. The service was very intimate and attentive. My sister ordered the Fall tasting menu, while I dined a la carte. To start we had the complimentary bread which was delicious. Individually sized parmesan bread, escargot shaped croissant and baguette paired with perfectly softened salted butter -- very French and very yummy. Then we were given a very generous amuse bouche of a three layered mousse foie gras with a Parmesan foam and another dollop of I think butternut squash (perfectly spiced with tons of flavor). Next we both ordered the crispy langoustine which was perfectly cooked and delicious. At first I was skeptical about getting fried food at such a fancy establishment, but the shellfish was delicately fried and perfect.Next, I believe, I was given a *complimentary* course of three scallops (a standard order is 2) since it was my birthday. I was also given a free cocktail which was delicious in addition to the one I ordered. It's been some time since I was there so I can't remember all of the details, but suffice it to say it was a truly memorable and lovely experience!
🙂
Dined here for my birthday, our main server wasn't very
Dined here for my birthday, our main server wasn't very warm, the Sommelier made the night for us though. We were driving back but wine pairings can end up being 2 bottles of wine per person, so he split one pairing for us and we shared. Was awesome - the wines and his explanation for each were so gratifying. They were better than the meal. Ordered the tasting menu and it really was not enough food. The filet was so teeny tiny, it was just so expensive for not enough food. The restaurant was beautiful, and it was so amazing to see the chefs and cooks put together plates with tweezers, working on each plate with such care. I would not dine here again but happy to have gone once.
😍
This is more than a restaurant - it's a gastronomic
This is more than a restaurant - it's a gastronomic experience that is truly unforgettable. I went here with my fiancé for my anniversary we had the price fix menu. I am a vegetarian and the chef was able to customize some dishes for me. The sommelier was knowledgeable and assisted us with finding the perfect wine to compliment our meal. The ambiance is chic and romantic. My fiancé informed the server that it was our anniversary and they brought us a delicious dessert.
🤮
I normally put quite a bit of stock in a Michelin rated
I normally put quite a bit of stock in a Michelin rated restaurant but this place is not worthy of a mention, let alone a star. We've dined at many all over the world. We arrived on time for our reservation but were told it was not ready. They suggested we sit at the bar. We ordered a drink and within a minute they told us our table was ready. We got the check and were shocked to see a bill for $90 for 2 tiny martinis served in a cordial glass. The hostess informed us that our table was upstairs via a winding staircase. When we asked if they would carry our very full drinks up for us, they said no. We finally got upstairs, taking time not to spill a $5 drop of our drinks and were seated at the "chefs table" which was basically the counter. The ambiance is nothing special. Trying to be a bit Parisian but not quite making it. We opted for the 7 course tasting with wine pairings. The 5 courses we had were on average-average, with some being very good, others being bland. The wine pairings were not good and the sommelier was very condescending when we asked questions. The wait staff was friendly and we chatted about this being our first time in Miami. What was shocking was when the waiter brought our 4th course, I was told that "the lady may enjoy her water" as he poured the wine pairing for my husband. After taking a moment to comprehend the situation, we inquired about why I wasn't being served and were told the sommelier had said I was slurring my words! We asked to speak to the Manager. When she arrived, she told us I did not seem drunk at all but she needed to support her staff and that they were "responsible for the safety of their guests". We had taken an Uber and my husband was apparently fine so not sure where the "safety" issue came into play. We opted to leave. They charged us for the full meal and wine. $1200 with the mandatory 20% tip. The restaurant would have received a rating of 2, maybe 3, for the service, wine and food, especially for the price, but for the added cost of being treated with such disrespect, I give it a 1.
😒
Lives you wanting for more
We chose the chef menu with the wine paring . Dishes were extremely small and the veal was hard and the taste was questionable . The service was on point. The wine paring was not included with the meal and it was an additional $250.00 per person. In general neither my husband and I were that impressed > we won't be back. I also didn't appreciate the free show that an old man with a young woman gave us . He was all over her touching her in very inappropriate places . For such an exclusive and expensive restaurant i think the manager should have said something to him
😍
There aren't many tables & we had to seat at the counter.
It was a different ambiance experience. The food was excellent & the service was good.
😍
Best experience and best restaurant in Miami
Best experience that I had in terms of culinary. I did the tasting menu with wine pairings. I recommend it 100%. Is not only looking perfect, the taste is unimaginable good.
Great experience, love the concept. The quality of the ingredients is really what you get. High quality in every single aspect.

Came here two years ago for my birthday and went back
Came here two years ago for my birthday and went back yesterday for the same occasion. Really sad to report the quality in service and food has declined. My cocktail was served to the person next to me, cutlery wasn't changed between courses, no more palate cleansers so all of the courses kind of muddled together. The food was still good, but not fantastic, my favorite was the sweet breads. So sad because it was always our favorite and we were so excited to return, but for the price point everything should be perfect, and it was just... off. The attention to detail was not there. Beautiful plates, but service and cuisine experience just wasn't how we remembered it.
😍
A DINING EXPERIENCE TO BE REMEMBERED
My wife and I got the tasting menu. We loved the red meats and seafood items. So tasty. We had a bottle of wine with it that our server recommended. Service was very professional. The dining experience was expensive but worth every penny.
🤮
Honestly the food was gross.
We both got the evolution and the first course was a foam Parmesan with foie gras. I like foie gras but this tasted rancid. I literally threw it to the back the throat and swallowed in one bite to just be polite and get rid of it. When other diners were served, we looked at their expressions and seemed like they were trying to hide their repulsion. The second course was the king crab. You only got a nickel size of king crab and a light cracker thing. Taste was ok but nothing memorable. The third course was whatever. Tuna tartare with some brown butter and mustard seed. Really nothing special that you can probably find a tuna tartare somewhere else that's much better. The fourth course was shrimp and mullet. Mullet is such a fishy fish that any flavors paired with it gets lost in the fishy taste. It tastes like leftover baked fish. Shrimp was good. The shrimp was most memorable. The fifth course I believe was this cheese with champagne foam and butternut squash. If you ate the cheese without the butternut squash it was just gross. It tasted like someone threw up cheese, fried it and served it. The sixth course I think was the sweet bread with veal. It was like thanksgiving dinner served with a piece of orange chicken. Flavors didn't go really together. Nothing memorable here other than didn't enjoy. The seventh course was the filet and potatoes. This was good. Steak was done right and potatoes were excellent. Although they gave you one measly baby carrot and the carrot tasted really good with the steak all together, so carrot to steak proportion was off. The desserts were either Black Forest cake reinvented or this elderflower thing. Both weren't anything special. The elderflower one had too many flavor profiles. Really just trying too hard here. Black Forest cake has a bitter aftertaste. Overall, the timing of the dishes was nice. The cocktails were really good. The plating was spectacular. The waiter was nice but couldn't hear them too well. One bathroom with pee all over the seat. Chairs kinda uncomfortable. And mostly the food was really not great. I think the experience we had is that just because a place has Michelin stars doesn't mean the food is good. Seems like they were trying hard and I think maybe this is more of a pretentious "oh I went there and it was fabulous" type of place rather than caring about the taste of the food. I half expected someone to win a prize if they spoke up about truly how they felt about the food kind of like that movie the menu lol.
🤢
Not a Michelin star experience.
We did the evolution tasting menu and the food was average, and the service felt very transactional. The servers and sommelier did not act like they wanted to be there or were happy to host us which took away from the experience. Felt very rushed, too.
😍
To say that this dining experience was breathtaking may be
To say that this dining experience was breathtaking may be an understatement. As always let's start with the service. We had the pleasure of André and Leslie, along with a few others who's names I didn't catch, guide us through our evening. They were kind, welcoming, knowledgeable, professional, and both gracious and complimentary. The manager, who I assume was checking in on our tasting, was the perfect balance of friendly yet unobtrusive. When you go to a restaurant when it has 2 Michelin stars and the founding chef has 36 (the most to date) we felt it important to eat out of our comfort zone a little. We both enjoyed the winter tasting menu, mine went the route of wagu, sweetbreads, and lamb, while my fiancé went the le céleri, mushroom consummate, and lobster. The courses were divine and the real "out of the box" choice was the sweetbreads and I can honestly say they were not what I expected and my mother was correct, they really are delicious. It was my birthday and our engagement celebration and they made the evening even more special than it already was. Placing more desserts in front of us that we could finish; it was hard to have to put down our forks and throw in the towel. The presentation of every dish was meticulously detailed and being that we sat at the chef's table, we were able to watch artistry first hand. Something random that I feel is worth mentioning is the noise level, the kitchen seems to flow like a Russian ballet, not once could you hear the chefs and assistants talking to each other, but their movements were nothing less than graceful.
Pricey. Great ambiance. Spectacular service. Food is really good. Some of it a little bit over the top for me. More of a special occasion place to go. Not an every day restaurant to eat at. Who could eat 7+ course meals every day.
😍
The most preeminent culinary experience and an honorable tribute to the late Joel Robuchon
OK. If you want to (or are onle able to experience) just one place with a Michelin star, do this one. It will not be cheap, but that was never the point. Come if you care about the most excellent French cuisine turned into an art form by the “Chef of the Century”, the legendary late Joel Robuchon. You will feel his presence. Come if you want to feel like your hard earned money have not been wasted. Come if you want something to remember for a long time. Arguably, there are many places where enjoyable fine art can be found, but there is only one Louvre. Similalrly, there are many places serving elevated cuisine, but there was only one Joel Robuchon, one elBulli, one Bourdain who added his unmatched narrative, and so on. Even though we feel that much is being made about exclusive eateries (and we don’t care about the foodie hype often constructed to justify exorbitant prices), L’Atelier stands on its own with its 2 Michelin stars. Not because it is pretentious or chique, but because the food is simply great and the service impeccable. Sure, there were 1-2 minor issues, but those are subject to one’s palate and the youth of the dedicated staff. We prefer that over pretense. Seated at the kitchen counter, we found the interactive view-of-the-kitchen ambiance deserving the place’s name: you can just enjoy your meal and watch an artist in his studio /atelier at work. The place was not packed (a surprising fact initself) which we thought was good. Seating shoulder to shoulder at the counter could have been a bit too much. We thought that seating on the terazza /outside defeats the point, comes short of the Chef’s intent, and we would not recommend it. As far as what to sample, we went a la carte, focusing on testing the variety of dishes and techniques: cold, hot, seafood, meats, soups, mousses and deserts. Generally no more than three flavors are harmonized making it easy to follow the trail on the food’s origin. Everything was really good, but the beats, artichoke, pork and beef ruled. The duck underwhelmed a bit, still good but in a really tough competition, langoustine a bit predictable but, again, one of the best one would have ever tasted. Just one more word on deserts: the chocolate sensation but especially the pumpkin will blow your mind. The pumpkin does not have equal. Ok, enough said. Try it. Bon appetit.
🙂
Great service, great flavors, but inconsistent quality.
We have dined at Joël Robuchon in Paris & Las Vegas, as well as at L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon in Paris and NYC. This was our second time dining at Joël in Miami. Our first time was during the pandemic; at which time the food was very good but not consistently excellent. We thought the lower quality was due to the pandemic and “excused” the lack of precision. Our experiences in Paris, NYC, and Las Vegas have always been excellent & consistent. Last night both of us chose the Evolution Tasting Menu. Some dishes were excellent and others were not. On the latter, there were true issues with the food. Example: The Poached Black Bass was delicious and the sauce accompanying it was amazing, but on the plate sat a stuffed zucchini flower that I could smell overused oil coming from as the dish was served to us. I thought it may have been something else but when I tasted the flower it was oily, soggy & over fried. The above is just one example of several issues with the food last night. How L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon in Miami obtained 2 Michelin stars will always perplex me. Great service, great dishes, but inconsistent quality.

Cooling is an art and L’atelier is the most gifted artist
I had from far the best experience in Miami ever! Everything is perfect from the moment you step foot in the restaurant. The service is impeccable, food there is not cooking, it's an art. All the flavors are to die for, the dishes presentation like a painting. By eating at the counter you witness how everything in the kitchen is like a ballet where everyone works flawlessly. It’s definitely the best restaurant in Miami.
