A great truly Las Vegas experience, and the place that will
A great truly Las Vegas experience, and the place that will always be remembered as the place where I got engaged to my wife!!! While Oscar and his extraordinary wife Carolyn, happen to be neighbors, I can assure you that there is no bias in my five star review. I have also brought my former boss, an executive for a multi billion dollar company, to this classy dining venue and Oscar's definitely got a thumbs up from this very discerning customer and veteran of many fine restaurants. So, there you also have instant corroboration of my rating from another independent and objective customer!!!!
🤮
food was very expensive and was disappointing.
we ordered a medium well prime rib it came out rare sent it back it came back out medium rare. Mgr did take it off the bill, The bill came to well over $400. for 4 of us even after the Prime rib was removed. the sides were nothing to talk about either, we all still left there and then ate pizza at a different restaurant at the plaza
😍
Wonderful Ambiance and amazing Food!By far the BEST

Highly highly highly recommend Oscar's for your dinner
Highly highly highly recommend Oscar's for your dinner dinning experience. You get a great view of Fremont Street and the service is impeccable! The staff here was knowledgeable, friendly, and very welcoming. Perfect for a intimate setting or celebratory meal.
We had a fantastic meal there last night. After seeing Oscar on Bourdain’s show and on You Tube describing the history of this town, we had to go. Nina our server was excellent making some great recommendations- my wife love the personal seafood platter. Sommelier recommended an excellent bottle of wine, cocktails to start were great. Overall, a fun evening and some laughs.

Went here for my 50th birthday and food, service and drinks
Went here for my 50th birthday and food, service and drinks were amazing. Thank you for making my birthday a memorable experience. Can't wait to go back.
😍
I will say this is not my first dinner at Oscars.
It did not let us down thats for sure. Filet was perfectly cooked and tender. The sides are huge and plenty to split. The lobstor bisque is amazing. Creamy, flavorful and you know its made from scratch. Wedge salad was huge and for 2 people. The bone in ribeye was perfectly cooked an seasoned correctly. Service outstanding. Our manhattans were on hit, and had the black cherry as a garnish. I would visit this steakhouse evertime
🙂
Great ambiance, classic Vegas steakhouse.
We've eaten here a couple times and tried a variety of things, all good (get the Caesar and get the scallops!). But we had a very interesting Valentine's Day dinner. The service wasn't great. It was like they were almost short staffed and we had to flag down some bussers or other servers on a few different occasions. We had split a lobster/short rib surf n turf dish, in addition to a few appetizers on V Day. The entree came split, and my husband's short rib came with a giant hair in it. Our server came and whisked it away but didn't leave a plate or silverware for my husband to eat the rest of the food with. We saw no one in the span of five minutes, so we let our lobster get cold and then him and I switched off eating with the same silverware and plate (lol) since we saw no one around to ask. It took a long time for the short rib to come out, so we had already finished eating the other portions when another short rib came out. We didn't want it now, and then we had to ask for plates and silverware again. I wish our server would've just asked if we had wanted it remade - we would've said no.To be honest, it's the little details like that that dim a holiday dinner from great to good. We'll still come back, but probably not on a big holiday night out.

We made a reservation to celebrate our year and a half
We made a reservation to celebrate our year and a half anniversary and Oscar's did not disappoint. We were seated early with a nice view of Fremont. The restaurant found a balance of preserving the history of the restaurant while maintaining a classy, steakhouse ambiance. We opted to begin with drinks and French Onion soup. My cocktail, Goodman's Legacy, was refreshing and light with a slight sweetness. My boyfriend enjoyed his beer as well, it was a French named beer that I cannot recall. The complimentary bread was delicious and the French Onion soup had a rich flavor without a heavy beef taste, which I appreciated, and a nice balance of onion and cheese. Our entrees consisted of the filet mignon (medium-rare), Berkshire Pork Chop, Mashed Potatoes and Creamed Corn. Unfortunately my filet mignon was well-done and while I'm not usually one to send dishes back, for $61 the temperature on the steak needs to be correct. I flagged down a server who acknowledged it was definitely well-done, apologized and sent it back. Our server came by and offered to give us a round of drinks on the house for the mistake, which was unnecessary but very kind and great service. My re-fired filet mignon arrived and was a perfect medium-rare this time. It was melt in your mouth perfection with the right amount of seasoning to compliment but not overwhelm the flavor of the steak. My boyfriend enjoyed his pork chop as well, although he agreed my filet was better. The sides were both delicious as well. The mashed potatoes were velvety smooth and the creamed corn had great flavor. I would highly recommend Oscar's for the food, ambiance and history.

Oscar's Restaurant Downtown
Great location for dinner if you are going to the Smith Center for a show Downtown. Service is excellent and the Filet Oscar is definetly one of the best I have ever had. Stop and take a picture on the way out with the Mayor
Awesome view of downtown Vegas. Appetizers & sides good size. Complimentary bread to die for! Warm garlic knots, yum.

Oscars Lived Up To It's Reputation As A Top Steak House In Las Vegas, NV
Me and my significant other went to Oscar's in Las Vegas NV to celebrate her birthday. I had also made advance reservations indicating that this was a birthday celebration. We arrived at our reservation time and was immediately seated. The hostess even mentioned the birthday celebration to us so it indicated to me that the restaurant was aware of the celebration. We were seated just across from the window area and had a great view of Fremont Street. Based on recommendations from reviewers both on YouTube, Facebook and Tripadvisor, we had an idea what menu items we were going to order. I had even mentioned the birthday celebration to one of wait staff, asking him if they did anything for a persons birthday. He indicated that Oscars did do something and that he would mention it to our waiter, Eric. We also got some interested menu suggestions from Eric our waiter and everything was just great. The only thing that did not happen was that there was no mention by Eric about the birthday, not even a "Happy Birthday". There are some restaurants that due to some "legal" issues will not celebrate a persons birthday but there was nothing to indicate that was an issue at Oscars. Although we had a great dinner and service, I am extremely disappointed in the lack of recognition regarding my significant other's birthday as that was one of the main reasons for going to this fine Las Vegas steakhouse.
😒
Impeccable service with amazing views of Fremont street.
We ordered calamari (good). Wedge salad (great), crab cake (amazing!), scallops (the best), filet Mingnon (good). Make reservations in advance. Overall a must do on the "street"

We came to celebrate my partner's birthday and we were so
We came to celebrate my partner's birthday and we were so lucky to have had Bobby as our waiter! The steak was amazing and Bobby made just the right recommendations for food (the creamed corn was terrific as Bobby said it would be!) Highly recommend this place.
Our group of friends wanted a great restaurant experience, and we got it here!....Two of us ordered the Filet, and it was spectacular! The view of downtown Vegas is hard to beat and the food as well as the service was top-notch! Highly recommend!
😍
We came to celebrate our birthdays.
Dinner was outstanding. The steak was perfectly done, seasoned just right, the mashed potatoes were so creamy and silky; they melted in your mouth. The lobster tail was exquisitely done with just the right seasoning. The place is beautifully decorated, classy look, the staff was very attentive and were very helpful. They even surprised us with a decadent chocolate moose cake. Definitely must come back.
🙂
Way too Loud but Good Food.
Couples night while in Vegas. My friend likes "old school" steakhouses and always tries to book one wherever we go. Last year, we went to the Golden Steer (Amazing!). This year, he picked Oscar's. I am very familiar with the Goodman story so I was game. Went with out with the wives. The food was very good. For appetizers wife and I had meatballs and the crab cake. We all had steaks and sides. The steaks were done perfectly and the sides were sizable. The cheesecake for dessert was nice. The only thing that will keep me from going back was that it was very loud in the restaurant. We could barely have a conversation at the table (we were seated by the window overlooking Fremont). Sadly, this doesn't seem to be just an Oscar's problem (as noise levels have increased at almost all restaurants) but it did affect the overall experience of our meal. Dinner for four with tip (and alcohol): $500.00
🙂
this is an iconic downtown steakhouse.
all the servers are great, so much character. retro ambience that's ideal for this oldschool vibe. first time we went the stakes were flawless. I almost cried. Second time back with friends was a less than stellar experience. we waited over a half an hour for our reservation due to a uneven table. The food was subpar, and they corrected the bill for us so that is good but I kissed sharing that first experience with friends. willing to treat it like a one off and give them another try. I sure hope it's excellence returns.
😍
Total dinner experience
We had an amazing meal at Oscars on Ash Wednesday, and we did not eat meat. The scallops and pink snapper were delicious. We also split a salad and crab cake which were also very good. Nice old fashioned and even our server, Bobby, who shared some old Vegas stories with us. Plus great dining room and view of fremont street.
Having tried about every steak house in Vegas I was staying downtown for the first time and ate at Oscar's steakhouse. Excellent all the way around and $15 under the Strip for the same meal.

Cool atmosphere, below average food…
First the good: The atmosphere of Oscars is very cool. It doesn’t get anymore old school Vegas than over looking Fremont while having a drink. The happy hour and staff at the bar were great as well and led us to have very high hopes for our dining experience. The waitstaff was excellent and exactly what you would expect for this type of restaurant. Now the bad(ish): The food did not live up to the cool vibe of the restaurant. The steaks, while perfectly cooked were underwhelming at best. I have had the opportunity to visit some excellent steakhouses across the country and unfortunately Oscar’s did not deliver. The steak was basically flavorless but pricy. I frankly have had better steaks at a chain such as Longhorn. It wasn’t bad, just no where near what we expected and have experienced at similar places. Maybe it was an off night, as the reviews we read talked about how great the food was. A little disappointing that our anniversary dinner was an average meal at a very above average price.

BF was in a Poker Tournament and doing well, felt bad about
BF was in a Poker Tournament and doing well, felt bad about being that person who booked a reservation at 15 min to closing. No one batted an eye or displayed any negativity. I opted to sit at the bar. Matthew greeted me right away and made me feel so welcomed. He was great at guiding me through one of the best dinners I've had in a loooong time. It was a dinner of many firsts! I tried a new whiskey, new cut of steak and a great glass of wine from Argentina.Turns out my BF won the Poker Tournament and made it in time to join me for dinner! Matthew was able to add a lobster to our steak to celebrate BF's win!My end cap steak was enhanced with a Caesar salad starter and a side of asparagus, topped with a crème brûlée for dessert
😍
Everything was wonderful!
Where to begin? The food was outstanding. Manny's Rib Cap with Creamed Spinach is to die for. The Happy Hour Shrimp Cocktail is exceptional. Chelsea at the bar was cheerful and attentive. Ivan, the manager was personable and interested in each and every guest having an enjoyable evening. Oscars Steakhouse is a must-try!
😍
Great steakhouse with an outstanding view
We enjoyed my birthday dinner here on a Saturday night. Super rib cap steak cooked perfectly. Best shrimp cocktail we have had in some time. Friendly attentive service. Nice surprise of a birthday chocolate mousse dessert. Glad we picked Oscar’s.
Was surprised to get Frozen steak cut fries and packet bought pasta in the mac and cheese for two sides that will cost you $26. Friends enjoyed their food particularly the French onion soup. Place seems outdated and trading solely on the name/history of the place
If you want some great food, old school charm and warm welcoming service, than you have to make a reservation for dinner at Oscar's Steakhouse. The food is amazing. The rib cap just melts in your mouth. The lamb chop was the best I have ever tasted and the salmon was cooked perfectly. Bobby, our server, recommended the side dishes for us. The cream corn was a total game changer for us. You got to try it once, even if you are not a fan of corn. Everything was just delicious. The view of Freemont Street while sitting in an old school booth eating delicious steak is the closest thing to old Vegas charm you can get. And again, be sure to ask for Bobby. He is the best!

We were welcomed here very warmly even though the kitchen was closing five minutes after our arrival. We sat at the bar and the staff were very friendly. We enjoyed pork and chicken dishes and both were delicious. Definitely recommended if you’re visiting Fremont St
😍
Would go into battle for that Mac & Cheese
We went to Oscar's due to my cousin finding it on YouTube videos (in our Vegas research and prep) and she'd got married earlier that day to her husband. From the minute we arrived (an hour early, because we wanted some Happy Hour action), we were taken care of amazingly. Nina, our server at the bar, was so friendly and chatty - on learning about the wedding earlier that day she brought champagne over for the couple which was a lovely touch. Bobby also popped over to have a quick chat, which was lovely. We were seated for food at the window overlooking Fremont St, which was fantastic. Eric, our waiter, was incredibly knowledgeable. Talked us through the whole menu and advised on the best steaks, etc. Really attentive, chatty, and friendly. I had a NY strip, we also had 3 rib caps, and one filet mignon for the others. My God, what food. The steak was sublime for everyone (mine was slightly overdone for my taste but I mean slightly - not enough to affect my enjoyment of it) and oh my WORD that mac & cheese. I don't know what they put in it, but I've never had anything like it. The Borderlaise sauce was delicious, I could have drank it. Fries were great as was the asparagus. All in all, a wonderful experience by this Brit. So much so, my cousin and her new husband have already booked to go back to Vegas in October and the first thing they did was rebook at Oscar's. Bravo!
They have great food, great service ,beautiful place . specialty drinks were great. We really enjoyed everything
😍
Great food and service!
NICK was the best server. Loved listening to him talk about his 45 years in Vegas. Great stories and could have stayed another hour talking with him. Great meal and service!

Old School Classic Steakhouse
We’ve tried many of the restaurants downtown, Oscar’s is the best for food and atmosphere. We split a wedge salad and thought it was the only disappointing part of the meal. It was light on bacon and cheese. My wife enjoyed her scallops and I had the bone-in ribeye. Both were cooked and plated perfectly. Our sides were a ridiculously good mac-n-cheese and nicely done roasted brussel sprouts. We split a simple, but memorably good, slice of cheesecake. If you’re looking for artsy, edgy, dishes, go somewhere else. Oscar’s delivers classic favorites with a great view overlooking the west end of the Fremont Experience. Spend a little time to read about Oscar Goodman before you go and you’ll know about the namesake and his amazing story as mob lawyer and longtime mayor.

If your downtown make sure to eat at Oscars. Obviously a lot of history with the restaurant and owner. The service is impeccable. I had the Rib Cap which had more flavor than many steaks on the strip.
😍
Amazing food and atmosphere
We chose Oscar's steakhouse for our 20th anniversary dinner...and it did not disappoint! There were all types of people dressed in all different ways. We were a little more dressed up, but there were people in shorts and polos. The atmosphere was the absolute best. We ate at about 830, so the party on Fremont was in full-swing! You get to see all of the lights while you enjoy your food. I got chicken and hubby got steak. Delicious. The bread they bring before the meal was outstanding and we had the pork belly for an appetizer. They brought us a dessert for our anniversary too! I could not have been happier with our meal, the service, or the atmosphere. You MUST eat here on your trip!
On June 16, 2022, we had a party of 13, they squeezed us in at table for 10. Our waiter, Eric refused to separate our checks. He said he could only do 4 checks. We needed 9. When the time came to pay, Eric literally brought ONE check and said for us to figure out who got what and how much we owed. Not sure if that is an Oscar's rule or an Eric rule but when you're spending $200 bucks for dinner, that's TERRIBLE customer service ! My rib cap and my wife's strip was just ok. The "sharable" sides of mashed potatoes and cream corn was small compared to other steak houses in Vegas. Overall, Eric's attitude about the checks set a bad tone at the beginning and never really got any better. I expected more and was very disappointed and embarrassed. Especially when I suggested this restaurant.
