During our week-long visit to Miami, Florida, my wife and I didn't have an opportunity to dine at every award-winning restaurant. But what are the odds of two of the best restaurants in town being located in the same building? If you have the time, be sure to make reservations at the StripSteak by Michael Mina (steakhouse) and Scarpetta by Scott Conant (Italian) in the Fontainebleau Hotel at 4441 Collins Avenue in Miami Beach. Leave your flip flops and bathing suits at home. Scarpatta is a AAA Four Diamond Award winning Italian restaurant, a classy fine dining venue with Atlantic Ocean and poolside views surrounded by elegant glass, floor-to-ceiling columns and an enclosed veranda with nautical themes that highlight the dining room and cocktail lounge. Open from 6 to 11 Sunday through Wednesday, 5:3 to 11 on Thursday and 5:30 to midnight on Friday and Saturday, it features a menu of home-made pastas, steaks, seafood and at least one dessert that you simply can't pass up. My wife and I started with seared scallops with potato and pickled mushrooms and an heirloom tomato salad. Branzino was on the menu so you just know where my appetite was headed. I have been addicted to Branzino, a tasty and meaty Mediterranean sea bass, ever since we were introduced at a Sarasota restaurant in 2018. Scarpatta's version was delicious with cauliflower, anchovy and salmoriglio sauce. My wife opted for a bone-in beef filet with celery root, mushrooms and sunflower seeds. For dessert, we shared a large portion of Guava panna cotta with strawberries, toasted almond and St. Germain sorbet. Expensive? Perhaps. But you get what you pay for.

This is the best Italian food ever! Beautifully plated, absolutely delicious foos and impressive wine list! The antipasto of corn polenta with mushrooms was amazing! The creamiest polenta and fabulous mushrooms to mix in. The scallops were perfect, the pastas were amazing. Handmade noodles that tasted like they were rolled out minutes before they were cooked! On the pricey side but we would absolutely come back. Shout out to our server Santiago and the very knowledgeable sommelier.

We went there with great expectations, but were sadly disappointed. Service was horrible. Our waiter Gustavo talked about himself for 10 minutes, but spent very little time listening to us. He brought 7 of 8 entrees to the table, but never bothered to come back with the eighth. We had to ask the Sommelier to get our last dish. All the pasta was over cooked and $28 for a dish of overcooked spaghetti with a so-so sauce will give you heartburn. The place also looks a bit tired and our table literally flopped up and down if any of us leaned on it. Very poor quality for extremely high prices. Won’t be back

Although a very highly rated restaurant, it was probably my least favorite at the Fontainebleau Hotel. The decor was strange and very outdated, and the bar scene felt more like a hook up bar than a high-end cocktail destination. The food was good, nothing more. The cocktails were acceptable, nothing more. I suppose this place gets its notoriety from its chef, but the experience as a whole left a lot to be desired. Which is why it does not surprise me that it was nearly empty at 8:30 p.m., while other restaurants in the hotel were packed.

Prices are reasonable given the ambiance and offerings. The cocktails are original and quite tasty. The menu is limited but what they offer is very well presented and taste good.Definitely will return. An added bonus is that LIV, one of Miami's top nightclubs is situated in the same building so you can go dance off the calories

Both were absolutely delicious. The service from the runners was fantastic and the place was gorgeously designed. Our problem was our waiter who was doubling as the bartender, which was probably the issue. He was distracted and inattentive. When we went to pay, the bartender took so long that we asked a runner to take the check. He then again took so long that I had to walk up and ask for the check at which point he didn't apologize and then continued to take his time. It's sad to see a place with good food and lackluster service. It ruins the whole vibe. Maybe this is the sort of place that you need a reso for so as not to be seated in the bar area. If you don't have a reso, suggest a pass.

5, food 3, it was a toss up for a 3 to 4 star review, but ultimately the fact that I wouldn't go back took me to a 3 star rating. I had the Chilean Sea Bass which was actually an over cooked Bronzino. The sauces and sides were bland and paltry. The heirloom tomato salad with albacore tuna was gross. My friend had the filet and liked it. My drink was good and not terribly over priced at $18. Overall dinner for 2 was $250 includes "service charge", had the food been better, they would have gotten 5 stars. They need work on their menu, kitchen team and ingredients.

We recently dined at every Fontainbleau place during our week stay and this was our top dinner! Our sever, William, was very helpful. The whole restaurant works as a team, and you can tell its smooth. The GM even swung by to suggest wines, which was really nice. Also, it is QUIET but not stale feeling. Even with 2 large parties , the sound is totally manageable and upbeat feeling. Comfortable seats as well unlike much of Miami Beach dining scene. Black Cod was insanely good. Yum Yum!

Scarpetta is a fine dining restaurant serving Italian cuisine located in North Miami Beach.I frequently visit this restaurant. In terms of options, the menu offerings are extensive,. Regarding quality and presentation of food, the restaurant were excellent… Some of the menu items I tried include: Tuna & Foie Gras, Mediterranean Octopus, Burrata, Risotto ai Funghi, Amanti del Mare, and the Bucatini which were all amazing. Everything was cooked to order. Portion size was appropriate for the price point and restaurant style. Customers can expect to pay roughly a hundred per person, including drinks. Normally, when I’m staying on site, I will eat here and order room service from here at least once. If you’re hungover or just wanting to enjoy a quiet night in the room, the spaghetti is actually a great choice (who does that in Miami? Me lol). But my favorites are definitely the amanti del mare and the risotto. Beverage wise, we tried the Verona, Bari, and the Lavanda 75 which were all amazing. The wine list is also extensive and they know how to make a great martini, which is generally my preference at an Italian restaurant (that and red wine). During this most recent visit, we did make reservations in advance, and it took approximately 0-5 minutes to be seated. Drinks came out fast. Appetizers came out fast. Main courses came out fast. If you are staying onsite, they should be relatively accommodating, but if you are coming to the hotel to eat, you definitely want to make reservations in advance. The serving staff was informed and hospitable. I’d best describe the atmosphere of the restaurant as being formal and sophisticated. It’s feels very elegant, which does lend itself to the intended brand identity and cuisine style. The staff provides everything you can expect from a fine dining restaurant and the Fontainebleau brand. Regarding ambiance, the restaurant is dimly lit and the noise level is average. It isn't a good choice for families with small children during the later hours, but it is fine to bring them in for an early dinner. Scale wise, tables are spread out within one dining room, lending itself to the restaurant’s coveted feel. Overall, I would recommend and anticipate coming back again.

Ceviche was very good, great selection of wine by the glass, and fantastic bread. Both pasta dishes were over cooked, the chef remade one which was much better the second time. Closer attention to food quality needed. They should also restrict kids from watching iPads on full volume, disturbing others in the restaurant.

They were not busy at all and apparently the summer season is much slower. I had a mojito, which was excellent, and spaghetti with a side of chicken. The spaghetti was very good, tart and cheesy tomato sauce with al dente pasta. Would certainly return. Service was also top notch.

Food was impeccable. Had a large discrepancy on the price of wine that we ordered vs what was served. Over $30 per bottle. No attempt to remedy the situation by staff other than a snarky sorry. The service was surprisingly outstanding (I suppose I don't expect much of Miami Beach) and the food was really really good. The restaurant has a beautiful ambiance. I had branzino which was perfectly seasoned. For appetizers we had octopus (recommend!), calamari (not bad) and polenta (good). Everyone loved their meals and there were able to accommodate dietary needs. Gluten free pasta received raving reviews. Well done - Scarpetta!

What an amazing experience we had at Scarpetta at the Fountainbleau in Miami! Our server Michael was on top of our every need, and Chef Valerio made us feel as if we were home with my grandmother cooking for us. He made sure we wanted for nothing. We both got the Bucatini for dinner, and the authenticity of it was astounding. The homemade pasta melted in my mouth; the sauce neither too acidic nor sweet. The short rib was cooked to perfection! I honestly couldn’t say enough about the service, the atmosphere, and the food. Chef Valerio came to talk to us to see hour our dinner was, and even after we said we couldn’t eat another thing and already said how happy we were, he sent us the most amazing desert on the house. You HAVE to try this restaurant!

Although our waiter was top notch, the support staff was extremely lacking. As this was our 2nd visit to a Fontainebleau Hotel restaurant, that seems to be a common theme. Extremely slow service and very lacking service. Our water glasses were rarely filled and everything is slow paced. The food was average and we accepted multiple suggestions from our waiter. The coffee machine was broken and they were “out of” many of the wines on the menu. How does that happen?

I was quite happy when we realized that the restaurant was inside our hotel! However, would we go there again? Probably not. They just changed the menu today, so a lot of the menu items were new. I had the mushroom risotto and it was very good, but there was more mushroom in there then the risotto. Was not my jam, I had to pick around to fish the risotto. And I like mushrooms, but that was too much. Husband had the black pasta and it's seafood. Pasta was over salted and he could not enjoy his dish. From dessert, they left the tiramisu from the old menu, and I'm glad they did. It was delicious and the best dessert choice.

It's really hard not to have a good experience at Scarpetta and it feels as if everything is finely honed to ensure that.Service was excellent, the wine selection was fine and the dining room is nice and most importantly the food did not disappoint. The Tuna Tartare was the standout of the appetizers. Restaurant chicken can often be plain and boring but the Chicken Breast with Swiss Chard was my favorite item and here it was elevated from dull to something that should be tried.Their signature Spaghetti with Basil was just okay and I found it too heavy.Desserts like most of the meal were quite good.A good way to end a night at Scarpetta is to walk over to the main Fontainebleau Lobby Bar and enjoy the over the top beauty of the hotel.

Let's start out by saying the service was poor. Received the wrong soft drink. Was told kitchen closes in a few minutes and the employee was unaware of the actual time the kitchen closed. They literally brought the main course at the same time as the appetizer. Be very careful I made it home and looked at my credit card statement the next day and was charged twice! I called the hotel numerous times, no one would assist, they told me to contact my bank and do a charge back for the second charge. I have literally called over 10 times. No one ever answers the phone and they dodge you and don't call back.

My fiancé and I found this place within a hotel from a recommendation from a friend who raved about it so we figured we would give it a shot. It is a restaurant on the higher end so the setting was nice and the food was expensive. We were hoping for a nice romantic evening at dinner. When we sat down, there were a lot of young kids and they screaming and running around the restaurant the entire time we were there. Our dinner reservation was your average time (7pm-8pm). It was so unpleasant and irritating. I'd love to enjoy my $25 salad without kids screaming in my ear. I was so upset to spend so much money on dinner (which we usually don't do) and have it completely not enjoyable. We could not get out there fast enough. The waiter was nice and food did taste good but again, not when you're spending $65 on an entree per person and I feel like I'm at a McDonald's.

Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!

Best Answer It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!

Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.

Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?

Best Answer Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.

What happens if my bid expires unanswered?

Best Answer Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
