Smith & Wollensky Las Vegas Reviews from The Last Year
S&W certainly knows how to treat its guests.
Our server was attentive, and made us feel welcomed. The ambiance was sophisticated and inviting, good for a special occasion. Unfortunately, the main event, the steak, fell slightly short of expectations. It was quite dry (medium rare)
A terrific experience.
Superb service and food. A bit noisier than we hoped, but not unpleasantly so. Thumbs up!!!

Another great choice! I had swordfish and my husband inhaled his meal before I could get a look. I stuffed myself on the appetizers and could barely eat my fish. It was flaky, seasoned to perfection and was great. My husband took a bite of my fish and devoured that too! Staff was very friendly and our server was from Ochos Rios, a place we've visited in Jamaica. We loved it and will return.

If ever the perfect steak (other than the three-pound tomahawk ribeye with Chris and Julie in NYC all those years ago), this was it: Filet mignon, medium rare, with char-crust black pepper exterior. The house red by the bottle paired so well with my steak dare I say they complemented each other? Oh, so cliche, but so damned good. Service was outstanding. Timely and attentive but not underfoot. Ian in particular listened and even told an appropriate joke. We sat at a semi private table toward the back. Close enough but not astride a main thoroughfare. Sort of like the Mission District in San Francisco. While the prices may seem a bit high you do get what you pay for. The extra 10-20 per person got us an unforgettable experience. Check it out. -- workingman's gourmand
Little bummed about the area they put us in.
Pretty much in the middle seats. Next time we will request a window table to overlook the inside. The service was fantastic, food was amazing. This is by far my favorite steak house to come to when I am in Vegas. After our reservations were cancelled at a different steak house outside of the hotel, I suggested to my boyfriend we come here, and he was impressed. We will be back!
PURE EXCELLENCE
I have nothing but fabulous things to say about S & W. From the atmosphere to the elegant decor and the super attentive staff it was phenomenal. We ordered the Tomahawk Steak and Seafood Tower for 3, pure perfection! And to end the night we had the most decadent chocolate cake I've ever had.
4 star review -- steak house -- our steak wasn't done to what we asked????
This was our first time at this location in the Venetian. You need to go to the back of the bar area to get up to the 2nd floor where there is another bar and dining room. We were seated promptly at our reservation time, even though I feel the hostess could have been a bit more welcoming. We found our way upstairs and were greeted with a "Happy Birthday" for my husband (which it was). Our server (Maro) was very good. They have a caviar service (but we aren't caviar lovers). We did not order any appetizers as dinner is normally enough for us. We ordered the steak and lobster for 2. 18 oz filet and 2 lobster tails with potatoes on the side. We also ordered the whipped potatoes which were very good. The lobster was done to perfection. The inside of the steak was rare --- we ordered medium. Luckily, my husband was OK with the middle more rare part of the filet. Only gave a 4 star review because I feel if you are a steak house - and I order a medium steak -- it should be medium -- I shouldn't need to send it back. The steak was actually cut into pieces - so not like they couldn't check the doneness.
Growing up in Hawaii, S&W steak sauce used to be sold in
Growing up in Hawaii, S&W steak sauce used to be sold in our local supermarket before being discontinued. We happen to be shopping at the Venetian on our vacation (6/12/24) and was surprised to see a S&W location inside. The restaurant was sophisticated and beautifully decorated with a bar on one side and wines on the other. We ordered the shellfish tower and a 26 oz. dry-aged prime t-bone steak -- which has a filet side and strip side in one steak. The seafood tower came with different dipping sauces and was delicious. The steak was a perfectly cooked medium rare. The real highlight was the fantastic professional service we received from bartender Anthony. We got to know each other and he said his mom was from Hawaii! The entire experience exceeded my expectations! I made sure I bought two bottles of S&W steak sauce before we left! Thank you/Mahalo, Anthony!
WSOP Day 37 - The Main Event 1A.
Cash game madness as impatient degens with money jump into games way bigger than they should. 10/20 NLH but first... "let's grab a big a$$ steak lunch since I doubt any of us will see food until tomorrow" I suggest to nods of agreement. Note: This is a lunch review. My previous review is still valid for dinner. A great way to enjoy not only the Wollenski classics but a plethora of excellent large salads, sandwiches and a well priced surprise or two. Yes for the steak tartare with roasted bone marrow and charred, grilled crostini. Yes to the SRF wagyu carpaccio with just the right amount of pickled mushrooms to provide balance and truffle aioli and parm for the umami goodness. Yes to the classic split pea soup. A menu staple for good reason. Do try to squeeze in a classic raw bar cocktail. Huge jumbo shrimp cocktail or crab cocktails always good but the shellfish tower is a real winner. Not because of the perfectly prepared seafood, rather for their outstanding original horseradish cocktail sauce, cognac mustard and the green apple mignonette that you can mix and match with. The Wollensky's butcher burger, USDA prime. Thick, juicy, perfectly cooked to temp topped with applewood smoked bacon, a sharp aged cheddar and their signature steak sauce aioli good. Better, the tenderloin sandwich with its horseradish aioli and bacon jam. Pair either up with some sautéed mushrooms or asparagus with hollandaise for a right proper sandwich. The hidden gem, the steak tips au poivre. Who doesn't love beef with portabella mushrooms, whipped potatoes and old school, rich peppercorn brandy sauce? Solid wine list with lower than expected Strip markup. Nice selection by the glass. And while the martinis have shrunk over the years, it is only 11am. True steakhouse proper serve with upsell ability. It remains one of the best mid tire steakhouses of Vegas.
Ambience is great! Feels private and classy.
Or server was also very attentive and friendly. Very accessible to the Venetian river and close to the other shops! The truffled mac & cheese was yummmmm and the non-alcoholic drinks were sweet and fizzy! Docking one star just because a lot of the dishes relies on the sauces. But definitely a place worth coming back to. Wanna try their desserts!

Excellent value for amazing food and the wait staff is super friendly. Nice added touch when you order the tomahawk the drippings go on crispy potatoes. So yummy we went back again!
Sigh….not good
Ate here on a Sunday in June ‘24. We ordered off of the prix fix menu during restaurant week because proceeds contribute to local food banks. I had the steak entree and my wife had the chicken roulade entree. Her beet salad tasted as if they were from a can and the chicken was very salty and dry (overcooked). My steak was overdone, salty and did not taste fresh. The drinks we ordered arrived mid meal and our server Todd never did a “check back” to assure our satisfaction with the food. The manager was going table to table asking how things were.. and we informed him of our issues. He didn’t take our concerns seriously in my opinion and just moved on to the next table. We won’t be dining here again…..
Anniversary Dinner
My wife and I dined here for our 30th wedding anniversary on June 4. I had reservations and I had requested a table overlooking the Grand Canal. We arrived on time and were promptly seated at a table overlooking the Grand Canal. Good start. The receptionist and the waiter congratulated us on our anniversary. We were served bread and ordered the Angry Shrimp appetizer. Both were excellent. We both ordered a filet mignon (with mushrooms) and they were cooked as ordered and were great. As we were leaving, another employee congratulated us for our anniversary. It is the little things that sometimes make the difference in a fine dining experience. Smith & Wollensky is a fine steak house serving prime steaks and is a 5-star experience.
Good Food & Atmosphere
We had dinner here for our anniversary. The food was very good but, in true Vegas form, very expensive. It was overall a very good experience. The staff was very friendly and professional.
Extraordinary Service ❤️ & Exceptional dining experience
Myself, my husband and a friend recently dined at Smith & Wollensky in Las Vegas, and I can confidently say it deserves a five-star+ rating for its amazing food and service. This fine dining restaurant, truly exceeded my expectations. We had the filet mignon and the ribeye as our main courses, both cooked to a delicious medium rare, offering a perfect balance of tenderness and flavor. The asparagus with hollandaise and the mushroom sautéed we chose as side dishes complemented the meals wonderfully. The portions were generous, ensuring a satisfying experience. A special mention and thank you goes to the gentleman at the bar (pictured attached), who was extraordinary and always smiling, adding a personal touch to our experience. Smith & Wollensky is undoubtedly must be proud of having such an amazing staff ❤️ This is one of the best fine dine restaurants in Vegas, making it a must-visit for anyone seeking an exceptional dining experience.
Food was good, but not worth a return visit.
We showed up a tad early for our reservation, they were accommodating and seated us quickly. We were taken upstairs and about a mile into the rear of the restaurant. There are several dining rooms at this establishment which I found interesting. Appetizers were the: crab cake :(ok flavor, was more like a scoop of crab slop vs a cake) and the Tuna tartar (yummy!) and their bread which was soft, fluffy and tasty. My main was the prime dry-aged ribeye with a side of creamed spinach. Meat was cooked perfectly, and the creamed spinach could have used a bit more cream; I had to add salt as it was too bland. Dessert was the creme brûlée, I’ve never complained about a dessert being too large, but two people can probably share it. All in all the food was good (no one has beaten Andiamo’s yet) , but I do not see myself returning. There was so much space in the other two seating areas of the restaurant that I wish we’d been seated elsewhere as we were only a party of three but were surrounded by large groups of 7 or more people , so we could barely hear each other.
Awesome food and accommodating
I have food allergies that limit me in some places. The waiter worked with me to accommodate my issues. Was an excellent meal and he was an excellent server.
Fabulous Fine Dining Experience!
This is one of the best restaurants I have ever been to in my 6+ decades of life. It was our 3rd visit over the years. The restaurant moved from where Target is now located to the Venetian. The Venetian is a really great setting for this super high quality restaurant. Our server, Eric, has been working there for 20 years. He talked with us extensively regarding changes over the years and menu selections. We both had the filet encrusted with Gorgonzola. Fabulous! The Smith and Wollensky Salad is a must! The chocolate cake for dessert was decadent and one of the best desserts you’ll find anywhere if you like chocolate and chocolate mousse cake. Thanks for a fabulous experience!
Amazing dinner with friends
Went with group of 9 and it was out of this world. Bartender George is awesome. Ask for Mark as your waiter his service is the best ever. My brother said Gorgonzola Filet was best steak he ever had. Couldn’t recommend it higher.
Not the best steakhouse and not the worse.
Inside portions of filet were medium, but outer cuts were medium well. Lobster tail was dry. Truffle fries were crispy and really good. My friend's salmon was very dry. The baby iceberg salad was good. When the highlights are fries and a wedge of lettuce, that's not great!

Took my mum here for her birthday and asked for a seat by the balcony to see the gondola rides per our reservation notes. We came early so they said no to the requested seating which was okay but when we were seated there were five open tables where we requested that weren't filled until about an hour later, if at all, but I moved on from that nonetheless. The other parts are not okay in my book. The waiter took my mom's wine glass when she still had more than half left without saying anything. He just ran off with it so we ordered another since he took a nearly full beverage without asking. Unacceptable. He then charged for two items we did not request including an "on the house" birthday cake. Inappropriate behavior to rack up two unrequested menu items. Lastly our tomato and onion salad had no onions on it and when asked about it they said it's fine the way it is. Very put off by this restaurant now. It has certainly gone downhill.

There are so many steak house in Vegas! We try to eat at a different one when we come to check them out . We order the crab cake for appetizer , shared the bone in rib eye, whipped potatoes and mushrooms. The crab cake was a bit different then what were expected - it was like a scoop of warm tuna. It tasted fine had crab flavor but mushy and a bit strange. The Rib eye was Cooked to the correct temp med rare, but was a bit chewy. The best items were the whipped potatoes and mushrooms and of course the chocolate cake. It's a bit noisy ... it over looks the canal and the noise travels up. Plus the conversations in the restaurant. Service was good . Attentive but not over bearing . I don't think we will do back.
Amazing food and service.
Loved the upstairs table and atmosphere. I would definitely go back for more!
Pass this one by.
Great filet but terrible side dishes. Caesar salad was un-inspiringly. Waiter hovered too much. Ruth's Chris sets the standard.
Excellent food and great bar service.
Very welcoming to bartop walkins, and offered the full menu service even seated at the bar. The main bar tender was awesome - made a couple of classic cocktails to perfection. We opted for a selection of different appetizers, thinking it would be better for bar seating to enjoy a succession of different sharing plates, but the food ended up all arriving at the same time so it was a bit crowded and difficult to eat. Nevertheless, the food was spectacular (especially the Angry Shrimp served on perfect mashed potato). We enjoyed the more casual atmosphere at the bar and would recommend and return.
Went there before a concert.
Steaks were fabulous. We had 4 different sides to share that we would order again. The staff was friendly and nice. Made sure drinks were at least 1/2 full
They had a great burger.
Lots of top shelf bourbons. Service was great. The place was very nice.
I enjoyed my time here.
The food was good. I would say it was comparable to most high end steakhouses on the strip. Part of the appeal was the tomahawks preparation at the table. The mashed potatoes were rich which of course are delicious. But if you drench anything in butter and oil it generally tastes pretty darn good. The service was decent and the atmosphere was a bit "Vegas" feeling compared to other S&W locations. All in all it was a pleasant and delicious experience. Go if you like steak and a lot of it with delicious sides. It's pricey and I think that you have a lot of options in restaurants for that price point, but the place is worth visiting once. If you are there for a more romantic experience ask the staff to seat you in a more intimate area with a more private atmosphere. Not towards the front of the restaurant.
One of the best steakhouses in Las Vegas.
The bone on ribeye was absolutely fantastic. Make sure you ask for Matty little quick P he is a world-class server and will take excellent care of you. A good.

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!
This app is life changing
This app has opened my world up to so many wonderful new experiences I would never have the chance to have without access to this awesome app! 10/10!
Worked perfectly
Was a little nervous at first but was pleased to see that the booking went through flawlessly.
Highly recommended.

Worked well, got me into a restaurant with no availability
I was skeptical, and I still don't really know how they managed to find this hard-to-find reservation, but it was a win-win from my point of view, and I'll use this service again.
Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.
Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
Payouts Blocked Because of Sell Through Rate
Does anyone know how AT plans to handle cases where a seller is quitting the platform but has a sell through rate <25%? The error message I got said to fill more bids or find other ways to increase the rate.
Is AT really going to block sellers from withdrawing their money? Especially revenue made before the sell through rate was introduced??

LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.

Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ

Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil
🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🧨🧨🧨 now on to 30 mill!
Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
