Tao Asian Bistro and Nightclub Las Vegas Reviews from The Last Year
We enjoyed our experience during our visit.
The food and services was fantastic! We were very impressed by the presentation and portion for each dish and great music while enjoying our dinner. Love the hospitality, accommodation, birthday sherbets, dancing, open bar after 11:30pm.
We so enjoy dining at Tao.
Each dish has so many layers of flavor and complexity. The drinks are well balanced and complement the meal. The restaurant has an awesome vibe that pulls everything together. Lars was our server and he was awesome. He curated a tasting menu for us based on the budget we provided and he took us on a tour of about everything on the menu, capping it off with a birthday dessert celebration.
The ambiance wins at this location.
Great place for drinks and appetizers. The food was good, but just like an average Chinese meal. Our server didn't really greet us till we had our food which was a little weird too. But the staff that actually greeted us were great! I would come back for drinks and the ambiance. A nice dark fun place with good music.
In a word, meh.
I wanted to like this place. I really did. I love the genre which includes Buddha Bar and Hakkasan. You know, overpriced Chinese food with restaurant that turns into a nightclub and has a nightclub vibe: dark, club music, fancy cocktails, and high prices. Did I mention high prices? $10 for one piece of tuna nigiri. $20 for one piece of toro. The problems here are many: (1) even for this genre, the place gets too noisy, (2) the "dim sum" part of the menu has basically no classic dim sum, the only steamed dumplings were vegetarian, (3) everything is oversauced, overfried, and over-sugared. Somehoe they ruined potstickers which is really hard to do but smothering them in a dark sweet sauce (plum, I suspect). All they need to do is offer up a potsticker and and steamed dumpling with some hot chili oil and I'd be happy. But that's too simple. The best dish we had here was the sea bass. The worst was the spicy pepper chicken which was, guess, oversauced and oversweet. And that was supposed to be a spicy dish. Ick. Gross. The service was fine until they dropped a tray of glasses next to us and glass exploed about 5 feet in every direction. We got a round of free drinks for our troubles, but I'll think twice every time I put my Birkenstocks on for the next few weeks. Food was 3 stars. Combined with the prices, it's 2.
Inside the Venetian, good vegetarian options, service was
Inside the Venetian, good vegetarian options, service was amazing, fast, very attentive. Decor is so pretty as well, red booths, dark, great for a celebration. Would definitely recommend on your Vegas trip! Wish we had gone on a Thursday or Friday night as dining in gets you entry to two night club as well.
Great food and great service, the toro sushi and the carrot
Great food and great service, the toro sushi and the carrot cake desert is the best I've ever had.
Awesome Music by the live DJ.
The food is absolutely fantastic. I highly recommend the short ribs !!
I've been wanting to check out TAO for years and so happy I
I've been wanting to check out TAO for years and so happy I finally got the chance to do so. The restaurant is beautiful inside and we had such a nice dinner experience here as well. The decor, the design and the whole lay out of the restaurant is well thought out. We had a private dinner experience due to our party size but we were still able to see the general area of the restaurant and it fell intimate. With that being said our dining experience was perfect as we had three staff members dedicated to us during our dinner. Food and drinks met our expectations. The cocktails were well crafted and delicious. For food, I would say the egg rolls are a must, they're super crispy and pair well with the sauces. I couldn't put down the edamame per usual- bomb! The shishito peppers came with a yuzu glaze and I absolutely love yuzu. The fried rice was fluffy but a bit on the oily side. I'd say the beef and broccoli were the star of the show for me here. I would highly recommend the giant fortune cookie for dessert as well- I've never had anything like it. But all of their desserts were amazing, really. We also had a few vegans in our party and the staff was very accommodating so that is always a plus. Thanks for the great dining experience TAO Group!
Absolutely the best Peking Duck anywhere, and I lived in
Absolutely the best Peking Duck anywhere, and I lived in the Orient for 8 years. Also, make absolutely positively sure you have the Lychee Martini. Phenomenal. We come here every time we come to Vegas, and it never lets us down. Other favorite items of ours are the Crispy Pork Bao Buns, Shrimp Tempura Roll with Honey Wasabi Sauce, Chilean Sea Bass, and Chinese Five Spice Beef Short Ribs. Service was excellent, and given that it turns into a nightclub later in the night, the gorgeous ambiance can't be beat.
Beautifully decorated.
Great ambient lighting. Top notch service. The downside was the music was sooooo loud. Don't get me wrong, it's my kind of music to be sure. However, I wasn't sure if I should get up and twerk next to our table or order dinner. We were a party of four adults, as well as a high schooler and an elementary school age girl. It was impossible to hold a conversation without shouting across the table. It's just a very awkward situation for dining. There is a DJ in the middle of the restaurant who would probably be better suited for a night club scene. One of our party said she thought Tao was a nightclub. So, sitting at tables to dine juxtaposed with blasting dance music just doesn't work. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone who just wanted to have a nice sit down dinner with friends. If you don't mind shouting throughout your meal then it may work for you. On the plus side, the Branzino was fabulous!
Sat at the sushi bar.
Angry Dragon Roll was good, but Thai Duck Fried Rice was really good.
Incredible experience and incredible hospitality.
The server was very knowledgeable of what came on the dishes. The old fashion I was served wasn't how I normally receive it although strong I missed the orange twist but gained a green maybe basil leaf but it did nothing for the aromatics were lost so it change the taste for me. Overall a neat place to try and they even do a special for groups like group meals and couple courses Chef would choose and send out which is nice and takes the pressure off ordering for guests.
Amazing service , amazing food .
. absolutely love this place .. if ever in Vegas I promise you need to visit.. I didn't find not one thing wrong with this place
Tao was recommended for a group dinner and it lived up to
Tao was recommended for a group dinner and it lived up to its recommendation. We had a group of 7 and it was a good place for a group. We started with drinks and the fan favorite was the cucumber crush. We started with the gyoza which was delicious. A good pan fry on the gyoza and the sweet chili sauce was very good. We then had the triple pork fried rice and the pad Thai. The fried rice was really good and having good flavor from the different types of pork. The pad Thai was good but not the best. If you go with a group, don't forget to order a round of sake bombs. One more tip. If you eat at the restaurant you can get free entry to the club!
Great Asian food
We had a fantastic dining experience at Tao. Our waitress was friendly, attentive and really got to know us during our meal. The food was fantastic with a large variety of options to suit all tastes. We shared multiples dishes as a table and all were well prepared, arrived in a timely fashion and delicious. The prices are high but the good food, large portion sizes and exceptional service make it worthwhile. One thing, this is a club/restaurant atmosphere so it is lively and noisy. If you’re looking for a quiet dinner this isn’t the best option.
My Second visit to Tao, the food rating increased but still
My Second visit to Tao, the food rating increased but still giving ambiance 1 star. I want to give 3.5 stars but going with 4 to balance the rating It's just so damn dark you can't see menus or people next to you, and it's so loud you can't talk either. Then there are the guys at the door harassing all women to push "free" admission & drinks, they keep texting for days after you leave Vegas. It's great if you want yo club, but not great to go with a date, maybe ok with a group that's boisterous. The waiter was fabulous, very cool & attentive. The drinks are good, tasty but not very strong. The Tao-Tini is still the best! So yummy! The crispy bao buns are delicious! I could them all night! Crunchy spicy tuna rolls were good but the spicy tuna tartar on crispy rice was so wonderful! Hot & sour soup with shrimp toast was my favorite! I like flavor & these dishes are the best so far. Recommend this for great drinks, good food & and club atmosphere
Beautiful ambiance, delicious food.
Literally every dish was delicious. The champagne, the appetizers, the entrees and sushi. It was all so unique and delicious! Went here during my mini birthday Vegas trip and I am so glad I did! So so so fun and delicious!! Can't wait to try the LA location now!
Dine in, dinner, Feb 2024: Pork gyoza (7.
5/10) Chicken lollipops (8/10) Bao buns (8.5/10) Shrimp tempura (7/10) Lobster kimchi fried rice (5.5/10) Sushi: hamachi, salmon, toro, uni (7.5/10) Lychee martini (8.5/10) Pork gyoza were juicy and packed to the brim, the sauce on them had a good flavor. Chicken lollipops were small, sweet, sticky, easy to eat. Bao buns were unexpectedly yummy, small/med size, perfect texture of streamed/pan fried, not too bready, loved that it was served with black vinegar. Shrimp tempura was okay, thought the shrimp could've been bigger/juicier. The sushi was small but fresh, what you'd expect from a fusion/non-sushi restaurant. Lobster kimchee fried rice was the biggest disappointment, it lacked flavor, not even any spice from the kimchi, and there were no big pieces of lobster, was more like small shredded crawfish. Next time I would try other dishes but would still be fine ordering everything again except the fried rice.
Tao was nice ! I expected a little more though.
The service was just ok. The sushi was just ok. But the short ribs were really good ! This place is really beautiful on the inside... instagram worthy. It is really noisy inside so if you are looking for a quiet intimate dinner then this isn't it. Seating is also really close together. Overall. I would be back... it just wouldn't be one of my must visits every time I go to Vegas
Tao is a great Restaurant/ Nightclub.
. expensive but great experience. The food is delicious, expensive but tasty lol Service is great, very attentive and professional. Both sides of TAO are beautiful with the ambiance specific to the experience you are looking for. Beautiful place.
Had time to kill before dinner and.
.. Quality/Quantity - Beaujolais - We should have just ordered a bottle. I am sure our 4 glasses were way more expensive. Decent selections for drinks; see pictures of menu. Simple bar menu available, see picture. Atmosphere - Cool spot, next door is their night club. Today a private party. Bar, lounge, table, upstairs or downstairs dining available. Seats 400! Cool decor throughout the restaurant also; see pictures. Even the entrance to this place is cool. It looks like bathtubs with rose petals; see pictures. Open 7 days a week from 5pm until midnight or 1am. Service - 5 stars, the bartender was very attentive. I lost my receipt so sorry, I can't give him credit. I think his name was John??? Price - Lost receipt, but I am sure I spent approximately $58+. Owner Comment - Congrats on all your success in your 20 markets with over 80 locations. We have been to your locations in both LA and NY. I also did not know you owned so many brands; I have been to more of your locations than I thought!
The food at Tao is pretty good.
I know that it is famously one of Kim Kardashian's favorite restaurants. Dining at the restaurant will get you guaranteed admission into the nightclub, which is rare for Vegas. However, when you do get into the nightclub, the drinks are going to be expensive and the bouncers will be annoying, but that's to be expected.
Picky Eaters Nirvana
We haven’t been here in several years and are glad we visited them again. The place was packed on a Sunday night. Food was great! Wonderful atmosphere and great food options from steak to sushi to fish entrees
This place was cute, i feel like you have to go once cause
This place was cute, i feel like you have to go once cause everyone goes and it's just a must. I like that it's more of a tapas style were you share all the meals like family style so you are able to taste a lot, portions aren't the largest but hey, guess that's a good thing in the long run, lol.
An awful dining experience.
Tao is a trendy place with some really good food and scenery. However, on my trip, our table for 8 was situated on a through route for restaurant staff and diners heading to the restrooms, resulting in dozens, if not hundreds, of people to squeeze between my seat and the person backing onto me at the next table. I did not get more than 2 minutes without someone knocking my chair, sometimes quite severely. As I say, the food was fine, but it was very noisy and dark in the main restaurant which also made for an uncomfortable dining experience. I couldn’t hear my friends at the table, and could hardly see them. I’d say the service was good, but some of the waiting staff were also bumping into my chair as well. After a couple of hours being bumped, you just can’t take it anymore. Personally, I will not be going back.

Came here with a large group booking and got seated in the nice back room. Good: - So many food options! I liked the fried rice and lobster as well as the pad see ew type dish - The fortune cookie dessert was super hilarious - it came with great mochi ice cream though that I ate a ton of - Sweet and sour pork was delicious and so was the fish Bad: - Super dark interior - Super expensive, don't think I've paid this much for a dinner in a while Overall this was a cool experience, really upscale and expensive though .
Too noisy,
This place was areal let down as it’s just too noisy, and it’s like sitting in a canteen with tonnes of people. We couldn’t hear ourselves! The wrong food was delivered to our table twice also. They moved us to a booth at the front, just found it disappointing esp as pretty expensive.
FANTASTIC food and EXCEPTIONAL service!
EXCELLENT service! The food was absolutely delicious but it was the thoughtful, attentive service that was exceptional. Huge shout out to our server JP - his suggestions were literally spot on - and his service was possibly the best we’ve received in all of Vegas. Larry (who brought our appetizers and then entrees) was also very helpful. And then the young man who was constantly refilling our water glasses and cleaning away our multiple plates, super polite and helpful too. Kudos to your team Tao!! The food as I mentioned was so good!!! We had so much and everything was delicious, my favorite was the duck fried rice and chicken gyoza. I should add that we were there on Christmas Eve when I imagine most restaurant staff would prefer to be with their friends and family. And yet our service was still exceptional!
Tao does not honor reservations
Tao does not honor reservations. Showed up promptly for reservations made a month ago. They said to wait till I got a text which arrived 15 minutes later. I confirmed I was there as instructed but we were never seated. We had to leave without eating after nearly an hour of waiting to get to a show on time. What a s&&1t show this place is.
RACIST. Never again!
My black & brown brothers and sisters RUN— this is not the place we should spend our money! If I could give 0 stars I would. I arrived with a group of friends at TAO Nightclub to celebrate a friend’s birthday and was treated as if we were not welcomed as soon as we arrived. Mitch— “Head of Security” (when asked his full name I was told that his first name was “all I needed to know”) should be fired. When a situation arises with a customer, the best way to handle it is always speaking and having a conversation not treating the customer as if they are not even a human being. It was very clear that not only were these people racist but they were also colorist as well. We were told various lies as to why we were not allowed in after purchasing a table. After this horrible experience, I will never spend a dime at TAO ever again. As a frequent Vegas traveler, I will support other local nightclubs such as Zouk at Resorts World or Drai’s at the Cromwell. As for the Venetian, I expected better from an establishment located in your resort- Do better.
Great food, service could have been better
The design of this place is worth seeing! I loved the colors and overall atmosphere. Our food was delicious but unfortunately the service was lacking on the night we were there. Our server was very friendly and helpful at first but then he disappeared. The restaurant was pretty crowded on the night we were there so maybe that was the issue so I'd suggest maybe going for lunch or during an off-time.
Tao… WOW!
I visited Vegas with family in October. We had the pork potstickers to start (sadly they were so good I forgot to take a picture!), miso glazed sea bass (this is PHENOMENAL), then we shared a special sushi toro roll and then had some DIVINE salted caramel gelato to finish. We were served by Jacob who was very friendly, very helpful in giving his opinions and made the experience better by taking the time to talk to us and recommend a few things to do locally.
Yuck
Food was bland and was charged $4.50 for tap water. Won’t go again and wouldn’t recommend. The waiter was overly fake sweet.

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!
This app is life changing
This app has opened my world up to so many wonderful new experiences I would never have the chance to have without access to this awesome app! 10/10!
Worked perfectly
Was a little nervous at first but was pleased to see that the booking went through flawlessly.
Highly recommended.
Success on Short Notice
Was able to snag an indoor table at Don Angie through an absolutely seamless worry-free process.
Worked perfectly, thank you!
This is a crazy holiday season in NYC and I was very pleasantly surprised to see that AppointmentTrader works! Will be using again!
Worked flawlessly!
Worked so well! I was a bit nervous, but everything went very smoothly. purchased the reservation, and got into the restaurant seamlessly.
Love this app!
So glad I came across this app :)
Quick table in Miami
I didn’t have my hopes high as it was a party of 4. In 24 hours I had a carbone reservation available! I was very happy as my family really wanted to come here
Prime time, great meal
So easy and had a prime time which I can never seem to get on normal res apps. So worth it
Got impossible NYC res
instead of waiting weeks I got my 4 charles reservation instantly
Worked perfectly to get into Carbone. So delighted
perfect
Worked well, got me into a restaurant with no availability
I was skeptical, and I still don't really know how they managed to find this hard-to-find reservation, but it was a win-win from my point of view, and I'll use this service again.
Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.
Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
Payouts Blocked Because of Sell Through Rate
Does anyone know how AT plans to handle cases where a seller is quitting the platform but has a sell through rate <25%? The error message I got said to fill more bids or find other ways to increase the rate.
Is AT really going to block sellers from withdrawing their money? Especially revenue made before the sell through rate was introduced??
Tune into NBC News - Top Story Tonight 7:40p ET
Let’s go. Get more people placing bids!
I will give you 50% of ALL of my PROFITS if you teach me how to make profits?
LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.
Appointment
Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil
🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🧨🧨🧨 now on to 30 mill!
Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
