Tl;dr: Lovely vibes but overhypedThe view and atmosphere was so amazing. Walking in, you're greeted with rows of colorful flowers and a breathtaking view of LA. The night was cold, but with the heaters they had around the restaurant, it made seating outdoors perfectly warm. Didn't take any photos as it was a quicker meal but we got the Crispy Salmon Sushi, Grilled Octopus, and Truffle Fries. The salmon sushi was good and the fish was fresh, but not something I would choose to eat by choice lol. The grilled octopus was flavorful but was cooked a bit rubbery and hard. Truffle fries were my favorite. The fries were perfectly crispy with hints of truffle, but also didn't taste $40 good. Understand that we didn't order the popular dishes offered at the restaurant, but for the price of the items, definitely don't feel super satisfied (the bill came out to $150+ for the 3 items). All in all, I'd recommend this spot for the lovely atmosphere/views and good service and staff, but not so much for the food. They did allow us to walk-in with barely any wait as it was not so crowded so that was sweet of them.I do hope to come back again, but would probably just come by for some drinks and the vibes in the future.

Oof I wanted to like this place, but while the views and the pistachio guacamole were great, everything else was subpar and a bit tasteless. We got the Cesar salad and guac to split. I got the truffle burger and my friend got the mushroom risotto and we got one cocktail each. I couldn't taste the truffle at all in by burger and it was borderline overdone - definitely not worth $45. My friend had similar thoughts for the risotto. The drinks were also just okay, pricy and not unique enough to come back for. Altogether our bill was a little over $300.I am down to spend good money on great food, but this place is definitely overhyped and not it. Save your money and don't disappoint your palette. Come for the beautiful (really!) views and a drink but skip the food.

This is a great spot for breakfast or brunch, I would even highly recommend it as a business lunch.The rooftop is beautiful and has great views, even during the winter days they keep the area very warm with the heating lamps so you could still enjoy it.The service was great and we enjoyed every dish we had in the menu!Even though this time I didn't have this dish I would highly recommend the lobster burger, it's amazing!The dishes we had today were- pistachio guacamole, black pepper sirloin, squash soup, tuna tartar, a side of broccoli, and passion fruit pavlova, we even got a complimentary red velvet cake for my husbands birthday which was a very nice gesture!I would highly recommend the lobster burger, pistachio guacamole (I really liked it even though I'm not an avocado fan so I truly think people should try it, it's that unique!), the squash soup, and tuna tartar!The sirloin steak was good but not great, even though we asked for medium and got it wrong they replaced it without a proper and prepared a new dish properly without waiting long! You can truly taste the fresh ingredients, and you can see they let the fresh ingredients be the front of each dish in oppose to a lot of restaurants that try to hide the quality of produce under many unnecessary sauces.

For such a nice restaurant, the service at this place is so hit or miss. We went recently and it was a slightly chilly day... the heaters stopped working halfway thru our meal. They gave out blankets that were dirty. While we were freezing we had to wait for forever for our waiter for everything. Food was really good- ordered the lobster burger, octopus, and steak + egg nachos. Nice view but couldn't enjoy it

Stopped in multiple times over the course of 3 days as we were staying at the Waldorf. The first two days we did late afternoon/early evening drinks and light snacks prior to dinner reservations elsewhere. The bartenders here are very nice and personable, and were very attentive. Likely spent a good 5-6 hours at the bar over those days and enjoyed the time. The third day we did dinner here as our flight out of the country was a red-eye. We had a couple salads as we didn't want to eat too heavy prior to our flight. In the prior days we had some of the fries as well I believe. The food was fine as I recall. The beverage prices here are high, just fyi, but this is at the Waldorf rooftop, so what do you expect? Overall, thoroughly enjoyed the multiple visits here.

My mother and I enjoyed another segment of her birthday on the rooftop with outstanding service provided by our waiter, Nick. The weather was perfect to enjoy exciting views of the city and I highly recommend visiting on a quiet Sunday afternoon since the surroundings were clam and peaceful. Our dinner and desserts were stunning in presentation and totally satisfied our tastes. Triple compliments to the chef!!! The entire staff at the hotel was friendly and extremely professional. I would recommend this restaurant for groups of 6 or less, even though they can accommodate large parties, to better enjoy the calm vibe.

There is not a more magnificent view of Los Angeles than this rooftop. Even though it was cloudy, we could see downtown LA skyline. The ambience is lovely, especially the greenery walls, which make it seem intimate and warm. We were there last night, and although the restaurant is called "The Rooftop by JG," there is nothing to suggest it's a Jean-George restaurant. The food is OK, but not particularly tasty or spectacular in any way, except the prices. The prices (Cobb salad $36, pasta $44, burger ($40 something) reflected those of a Michelin-starred chef, but not the execution. We've eaten at several Michelin starred restaurants and they were all spectacular. This was not in the same league. Having said that, it's a must see location, and you can go there for drinks. Our visit was during cloudy weather and the views were still great. We were there previously when it was sunny and LA looked even more spectacular. Others must have passed on this thinking as we were there on a Saturday evening, and there were empty tables for the almost 3 hours we occupied our table. Not a good sign. One last note: the manager who responds to comments must cease a form response that does not address what the reviewer states.

I usually don’t write reviews, but in this case I felt compelled. Horrible service and horrible attitude. My wife and I invited friends who were visiting from new york to have cocktails at the rooftop. We were all looking forward to the experience at this heavily advertised venue. Shortly after we sat down the waitress literally kicked us out because we didn’t order a main dish! Apparently “you can only sit down if every person in the group is ordering a main dish”. Although we ordered appetizers and 5 cocktails, that didn’t qualify us for a table. The waitress didn’t even give us time to finish our cocktails, and just charged us and showed us the way out. You’d think that they needed our table to sit other people, but the restaurant was half empty. The server talked down to us and we all felt highly embarrassed and disappointed. The service staff could greatly benefit by undergoing sensitivity training and an attitude of inclusiveness.

Honestly, my friends and I wanted to eat somewhere nice, enjoy good food and celebrate our graduation. But now, we remember this place because of how bad it was.First off, my friends and I were in good spirits because we just graduated. We looked at the menu, and as broke recent graduates we were not impressed. But we were willing to spend a lot of $$ anyways because we worked really hard! We deserved it. If something is gonna be 80 it better be good. The caviar fries was nothing special. It was just fries. I couldn't even taste any of the other elements. I understand you are paying for the caviar and this dish is probably just a gimmick appetizer but you'd be better off getting McDonald's fries. Truly a let down. Our entries were either super dry (chicken dishes and lobster burger), flavorless (pastas), or overcooked (steaks).If I could give zero stars I would! The one positive was at least our service was good and we had a nice view. But other than that, avoid eating here. Finally, we were given a nice little free cupcake for graduating, but between 7 of us, we barely got a bite each . Emphasis on the little. I know beggars can't be choosers, but we couldn't help but laugh trying to figure out how to share a personal cupcake (that looked like it was from ralphs) between the 7 of us .

A friend recommended this rooftop restaurant in the bougie Waldorf Astoria with a phenomenal view.We had:Cobb salad: This was pretty basic, a bit light in terms of toppings but refreshing for a hot summer dayTruffle cheeseburger: I had high hopes for this as the brie, yuzu pickles and black truffle aioli sold me. Unfortunately I didn't taste any black truffle in there. The beef tasted... gamey and didn't pack alot of flavourSashimi with spicy white ponzu: The fish wasn't fresh at all, we couldn't even finish it. It was warm and tasted fishy.. no buenoCampanelle pasta: It was al dente which was a plus, but flavor wise nothing specialI mean its worth a visit just for a drink and to admire that view. That was about it, though. The food obviously wasn't great so I wouldn't have high expectations for that but again, the view is A1

I went there few days ago. I had a great experience. The rooftop offers one of the best views of LA. We got the cheeseburger and the sashimi, both delicious. I recommend make a reservation because it gets very crowded. We were very satisfied of the service, with one only exception: one the hostesses (she has very bright blue eyes and black hair) working that night was extremely rude and with a non friendly attitude.Such a pity our experience had to start with the wrong foot. But we still recommend this place.

We had 4 dishes...crispy salmon...salmon get overwhelmed by the cooked rice where one can't even taste the salmon...what's the designer of that plate thinking...fresh Burrata...if not for the toast, the dish was awful, no real flavor going on here...Cobb Salad has no blue cheese, they had to bring it out separately and the veggies inside were lackluster! Finally we had the strawberry/feta salad...it was the only dish that was okay...the drinks were good and the view amazing...but all these plus the 2 drinks and parking was $250! Oh did I mention diarrhea at 3 in the morning! Really awful meal!

Look at my reviews. I live fine dining, but the prices at this place for brunch were insane. A salmon Caesar salad was $45! I can't say the food was bad because it wasn't it was good. Not life changing, not Michelin star worthy. I ate in Beverly Hills. Guess it was worth the price rage for that and the amazing view.

Those views though! Located on the back side of the pool at the Waldorf Astoria is the rooftop by JG and it offers spectacular views of LA and all the mature foliage of Beverly Hills. Make sure to make reservations as it stays consistently busy. We started the meal with margaritas and truffle fries and then shared some entrees. The blackened cod was nice but didn't wow me, Caesar salad was great but the Cobb was lacking. We added salmon as a protein and it still didn't do much for me at all. BUT the burger and the lobster burger steal the show hands down. The vibe is great, the views are perfect, and Reece was a wonderful server. Have lunch with friends, bring the kids to a nice meal, ( they do have a kids menu available for the little ones) or have a romantic meal, it all works. Business casual for attire, but don't be scared to fancy it up, never know who you might run in to!

We made reservations for lunch on a weekday. I figured it would get busier at peak times, so we booked earlier at 11:30am. We were seated right away, with a great table along the edge with stunning views. We were on our honeymoon and the hostess congratulated us before we were seated. Our server also did the same. Service was fast, polite. Our server even thought to ask me a dietary question based on how I had requested my dish to be prepared. It was very thoughtful. I had the lobster burger and my wife had salmon. Both were fantastic. We also had the tuna tartare as a starter. It was great, but a bit small portion for the price. When our meal was over, our server came by and gave us a complimentary dessert to congratulate us on our marriage. It was a really great gesture that we truly appreciated.

Travelled from San Diego to JG rooftop for a lunch and although we were super excited to be there, we were little disappointed: We had a reservation at 3:30pm but we didn't get seated earlier than 4pm. We asked if we can move a table at the very beginning as couple of tables with better view were open. We asked one staff two times about this but they didn't get back to us, when we asked someone else 3rd time, they said they are booked and they can't move us. Nobody showed up there for the next 1.5h (we left after)... We got our food, but had to ask for utensils 2x before we could start our meal. To sum up, the rooftop had a breathtaking view and the interior was on point. Food was ok and drinks were great, but you would expect a better service by paying $44 for a burger and $26 for a regular cocktail.

Not for the food. Pasta dry , dreary. Fish salmon , dry overcooked . Salad , dull . Dressing ? What dressing ? Eggs Benedict ? no Canadian bacon or ham . Drinks , cocktails , chips and avocado dip all exemplary . However I would be mortified or should be anyway if I was JG and the food was of this low standard .

Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!

If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!

Best Answer Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.

Best Answer Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.

Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?

Best Answer Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.

What happens if my bid expires unanswered?

Best Answer Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
