Agi's Counter Brooklyn Reviews from The Last Year
Just treated like a leper because I had the nerve to ask
Just treated like a leper because I had the nerve to ask for a table for 1. The very study host came over and told me he couldn't possibly entertain finding a table for at least forty minutes. There was no line except for one couple. many tables were close to finishing. He just didn't want to be bothered letting one person take a table. I can't sit uninstall unless there's a foot rest after the knee operation. Because then my leg can't just hang there. And I try to explain this, but he didn't care so. After taking a lift there to enjoy breakfast. I'm now in a car back home
Absolutely phenomenal food.
Green devils are mouth watering Dumplings with clams is different and the chicken paprika with a side dish of cabbage with onion and anchovy vinaigrette made us savor every bite. Very unique and very good. Oh yes, and a cute place as well.
We had such a great breakfast at Agi's Counter last month
We had such a great breakfast at Agi's Counter last month when were in the city for a long weekend. We both enjoyed Dirty Ovaltines, which were great. Then we shared the Hungarian donuts (only available on Sundays), which were - I'm not exaggerating - the best donuts I've ever had in my entire life. They were perfectly fried, covered in powdered sugar, and served with honey butter on the side. TO DIE FOR. But that isn't all they do well. I couldn't resist a bowl of Nokedli Soup (grated dumplings swimming in chicken broth with tons of dill), which was so warming and homey and delicious. Then my husband had the paprika sausage over buttered grits and two sunny side eggs (which he enjoyed), and I love country club plate (house-cured salmon, smoked trout salad, tomato, cucumber, parsley-shallot salad, whipped farmers cheese, and caraway rye). Did we eat too much? YES. But we couldn't resist this amazing breakfast menu! I wanted everything. The service was great, and the restaurant is tiny but so charming and cozy. I would absolutely come back for breakfast. But I also want to visit for dinner (chicken paprikash? lamb stuffed cabbage?). Basically, I just can't wait to come back. A gem.
They are all super light and delicious.
The atmosphere is causal and relax. Staff are super friendly
I live in the neighborhood and just had an impulse to stop
I live in the neighborhood and just had an impulse to stop by today as I had heard about Agi's and had never been. I am not a big review-writer and had no intent of doing so. So keep this to yourself. If all your friends show up I'm going to have to come after you if they take my seat next time. I love the sweet, cozy atmosphere - counter in the front lit by the sun today, counter on the side, and a few cozy tables in the back. I was a single so I sat at the lovely counter on the side. Not sure what material the counter is constructed of, but I thought it was very attractive and a pleasant surface to dine on. Everybody there was super-friendly and accommodating. I am a crêpe lover, but rarely order them. The Palacsinta (rolled Hungarian crêpes) with lemon curd and warm brown butter was a home run. They are spongier and fluffier than a French crêpe, perfectly browned. It didn't look like a lot of food at first, but they were totally filling and incredibly satisfying - not too sweet. The butter, crème and a dusting of powdered sugar did the job! I had worried that crepes might be too carb-y for me so my server suggested a side of the thick cut bacon - OMG! This was not what I expected. This is not your typical thick-cut bacon. It was about a third of an inch thick, perfectly caramelized. This mouth-explosion of pork and fat perfectly complemented the crepes. This is a specialty bacon that I have not seen served any place else. The coffee was great as well. I also enjoyed their plates and tableware. And again, all of the staff were so friendly and happy to explain things and enjoyed how much I enjoyed the food. I'll definitely be back. Just don't take my seat. I normally would post a photo before digging in, but it just didn't dawn on me. I wasn't planning on posting anything about this.
This place is awesome!! The service was lovely, we ordered
This place is awesome!! The service was lovely, we ordered coffee and got boundless free refills. We split the tuna melt, the chicken dumpling soup, green devils, and the decadent cheesz cake. Felt so at home, the ambiance is cozy and warm -- A+ for music. This would be a great spot for a low key date night, or just a private, quiet little lunch. Cannot recommend more, you'll leave feeling like you just got a hug!!
I've been following Agi's on Instagram for a while and have
I've been following Agi's on Instagram for a while and have been so curious about their tuna melt and cheesecake! Was worried that after they got on the Michelin guide maybe it'd start to get overhyped. Sadly there was no tuna melt during dinner so we got the pickled mackerel toast, which honestly satisfied my toasted bread + fish craving. The bread was beautifully toasted on all surfaces, perhaps drowning in too much olive oil. The fish was salty and acidic, had a slight chewy texture you don't expect with fish. 3.5/5 Chicken paprika looks like a showstopper on the plate but the chicken itself was ok. Texturally tender but most of the flavor is only on the skin and in the sauce, the meat was like regular rotisserie chicken. 3/5 Carrots on carrots was TINY. Served on the smallest cake plate. Definitely not worth the price for just roasted carrots atop carrot purée. 2/5 There were 3 people rotating behind the counter serving our food, they all seemed really nice and chill. One offered us extra nicely toasted bread ($3) to sop up the chicken juices. Lastly, cheesecake - I was surprised to find that the blueberries actually taste like fresh poppy blueberries but tossed in a thin blueberry sauce, which is good bc adds so much freshness but you also get the sauciness! Cheesecake itself is pretty standard. The olive oil is super grassy and I do like the pairing / it's quite yummy with the cheesecake and blueberries but I wouldn't say it's a match made in heaven. Agi's has a few more classic dishes (dips, liver mousse, sandwiches) that apparently amazing based on social media. I think I'd come back eventually to try them, they have the potential to be excellent but maybe not as mind blowing as I'd expect. Still a super cute, aesthetic cozy spot!
Came here for brunch, which has been highly reviewed on
Came here for brunch, which has been highly reviewed on social media. I loved the tuna sandwich. It's buttery with fresh herbs and melts in your mouth. Unfortunately we had an afternoon reservation so a couple of other things I wanted to order weren't available. Portions were generally on the smaller side but fairly priced for the quality of food you get. Recommend getting there early if possible!
A gem.
Have only been here for lunch and they change their menu every so often. Everything is made with so many fresh herbs and care. Today we came for a snack and I had their deviled eggs (special and incredible), and a side of their pickled veggies, and a cappuccino. The atmosphere is perfect - like a modern coffee shop (but hard to explain because it's so much better than that). Service is incredibly friendly and they even let us hang out at the counter after they were closed.
A great find if you're in the area of the Brooklyn museum.
It's only a five minute walk away. Service is excellent and it's a cute little room with seating and counter space. Good- Eastern European meets Comfort food. I had a fabulous tuna salad On homemade potato toast served with a side of pickles and cabbage salad. A very filling dish -but hey I can go work it off with a great walk. My only minor suggestion is the Plate that the sandwich is served on is tiny and the sandwich is too big for the plate-I kept on thinking I would get parts of the sandwich on the counter. but , that being said-I would come again-to try the other dishes. Apparently there are alot of repeat customers!
Lovely dinner! We ordered the Caesar to start, a couple of
Lovely dinner! We ordered the Caesar to start, a couple of aperitifs, the dumplings in broth, the crispy pork, the cheesecake, and the chocolate cookie. Everything is delicious. Get anything! The textures and flavors were stellar. Do not skip dessert. - The Caesar dressing, breadcrumbs and caraway with the radicchio were a tasty start. - The dumpling soup broth was delicious! Some crispy chicken skin on top. Wish there was a bit of protein. - The pork was crispy! It came with celeriac. - The cheesecake was indulgent. I loved the berries and olive oil. - The cookie came with milk and had a terrific amount of salt and more caraway. We came at 6pm on a Sunday and were seated at the counter. It quickly filled up around us by 7. Our servers made a mistake giving our entrees to the diners next to us and as a result we waited far too long between our appetizer and entree. Unfortunate mistake since there weren't many diners. I really wish our servers acknowledged this since this was a bummer. Otherwise, wonderful service. Beautifully decorated and lit space!
Neat spot.
Good tuna melt and hash brown. Though I don't know that I really feel like the tuna melt benefitted from the confit treatment since the tuna was shredded pretty finely. In SF Pal's takeaway does a similar tuna sandwich but the tuna flakes are a lot bigger and I think you can taste the difference. The hasbrown is kind of hard to describe. It's like a potato pillow in a good way. My wife got the biscuit sandwich and she seemed to like it quite a bit too. The house hot sauce tastes pretty good but it's pretty mild in terms of heat.

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!

Quick table in Miami
I didn’t have my hopes high as it was a party of 4. In 24 hours I had a carbone reservation available! I was very happy as my family really wanted to come here

perfect
Worked well, got me into a restaurant with no availability
I was skeptical, and I still don't really know how they managed to find this hard-to-find reservation, but it was a win-win from my point of view, and I'll use this service again.
Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.
Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
Appointment
I was waiting on the transfer for name but it hasn’t happened yet and my reservation is tonight , will it be an issue that is hasn’t changed into my name yet
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil
🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🧨🧨🧨 now on to 30 mill!
Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
