The tour if you’re doing it is lots of walking so don’t wear heels or hard shoes. This is a great escape from city but if you’re driving that means not too much drinking. It’s also a drag to drive after a full meal when I just want to go to bed. There needs to be more and bigger signs within the property because driving there and leaving were chores. Everyone very friendly and courteous. I didn’t really understand the veggies inside a case because the server unlocked it but didn’t open the case and so I wasn’t sure if I’m supposed to eat since some restaurants do this as a display for add ons. Some ppl may enjoy visiting kitchen later in the night but I thought it was a bit weird eating in the kitchen while everyone else working hard. I also didn’t want to move away from my comfy, quiet seat to a noisy kitchen. They also give you a pouch of utensils which I had to open and take out which seems a bit tedious for me. Other than some cured meats and freshly baked bread, menu is mostly veggies AND raw veggies. While chomping on raw veggies, I was thinking the chefs here must be so happy. Hardly any cooking here. If you’re vegan or vegetarian then you’ll love it here because these are some of the best veggies I ever eaten and veggies at raw state is like eating rare steak, simply the best way to eat it. I felt some dishes like dessert was much too big. Let’s not have large dishes for tasting menu since that means I’ll be too full to continue eating. It was very difficult to get a reservation here but this trouble and steep price tag was not worth the effort or price. We are talking about veggies and breads which are poor ppl food. They preach sustainable food but it’s not sustainable for my walket.

This is truly the best dining experience I have ever had. The dishes are not just incredibly delicious but novel and creative. Every course is an experience. Service is also top notch. Our favorites this time were the radishes, Maine diver scallop (it was the biggest we have ever had), and the "sushi." Get there early so you can enjoy a drink in their lounge (or outdoors if you are there in the summer). I was not a huge fan of the cocktail I had but did enjoy several mocktails and the wine (it was a Willamette red similar to a Pinot). Highly recommend and cannot wait to come back!

We visited Blue Hill this past summer for the farm tour and lunch at the cafeteria. The moment we pulled into the grounds I could tell this place was something quite special. The tour was informational and frankly changed the way my fiancé and I think about food. We've always been fans of the whole food diet, but learning how important it is to think about every piece of the eco system - from the soil, to the plants, to the animals and how they all work together to benefit one another was truly inspiring. We became hooked on Blue Hill from that day on and after months of trying to get a dinner reservation, we finally secured a spot for the tour + dinner. I don't want to spoil the experience, but I will say it was unlike any other fine dining experience I've had. Magical, would be an appropriate word. We also loved how the staff engaged with us throughout the eve. We've been to spots that frankly take themselves a bit too seriously, but Blue Hill does a great job of educating while still keeping a level elevated excellence. We'll be back!

We went with two other couples for a late November dinner/tasting menu experience. We began with a tour of the farm, and what followed was an over twenty course meal including two courses in the kitchen watching the chefs at work. Each course was amazing, thoughtful, and explained thoroughly. We left feeling stuffed. Every staff member was very nice, helpful, and all seemed to enjoy their work. I couldn't recommend this place highly enough. The price is what I would expect to pay for what was a 6 hour total experience of a lifetime. Thank you Blue Hill!

It was late November, but they did a great job with answering questions about their farm, bread bakery, grill (bones were cool), and innovation labs. The people we met were happy to answer any and all questions -- and the larger tour group had many. Afterwards, we had a tray lunch that everyone enjoyed. It included a seltzer (canned), something like corned beef on salad, butternut squash soup, bread (I gave mine to others), ricotta, potato salad with mushrooms, and a desert (I gave mine to others). The property is lovely -- quite picturesque. I would've liked to see the animals and spend more time at particular stops (eg, the farms). There's considerable interest (for us, it was a birthday present to visit) so I imagine that's why the prices are so high -- but that was my main concern. It was also hard to find space.

To get here from the city, I took a metro north train to Tarrytown then called an Uber from the train station. After your meal, you're free to walk around the grounds on the various trails which was nice as well.

I'm lucky enough that I have the opportunity to go to a few tasting menus for my job, and Blue Hill absolutely blows everything else out of the water. This place is predicated on sustainability and celebrating fresh ingredients, which I love, and they use just good ingredients with so much love and care - I think the high price tag is definitely worth it. Food is presented as an experience and I had the opportunity to go into the kitchen and see the chefs working. The candle becomes the oil with which salad dressing is made. And the menus are unique and changing seasonally - I would leap at the opportunity to dine here again.

Last month I went to Stone Barns for the lunch tray and decided to try again for dinner. I was expecting to get on the wait list and I was surprised when I got through. The tactic I suggest to use is make the reservation on a computer instead of a phone. Go to the page on Tock before 9 a.m. on Nov. 15th and click on 'search', then click on a day in November and scroll over so it shows December, which will be grayed out. Refresh the page at exactly 9 and immediately select the day and time you want. That worked for me, anyway. When you go spend the day exploring the trails and Tarrytown. Its a totally unique experience you won't forget.

Amazing food as would be expected but this whole experience has just gotten to be too much and the price is just over the top. Used to be our favorite restaurant 7 years ago when you could sit at the bar and have a great 5 course meal at an expensive but fair price. Seems like they are just interested in the Uber wealthy crowd they have, too bad.

Attended a wedding. Had heard so many great things about the food and was expecting a great experience. Couldn't have been farther from the truth. 3 courses, one with a single ravioli. Main course was beef, no other option. Four from my table asked for a non-beef alternative.....we were given a half of zucchini with drizzled soy sauce! The total amount of our supposed dinner didn't equal a good appetizer passing at other functions.....Very similar experience I had once at an over hyped restaurant in the city that charged a fortune for mostly no food. The people at my table that were served the beef entree, received extremely rare meat, something that few people really order.

I've never actually been here but I have been trying to make a reservation for 2 months for my husband as our first wedding anniversary gift, he has been dying to go here! Our anniversary is October 1st but I've been trying since August to get a reservation for September, didn't get it. So I tried again today September 15th for October. I was on at exactly at 8:59 am and refreshed at 9:00 am - when reservations are supposed to be "released" I checked the time on my computer and at 9:00:30 all reservations were already "sold out" for every single day in October. I think this is complete bullshit and leads me to believe they are accepting reservations elsewhere. Not to mention I have joined the waitlist for several different days with no luck. I cannot express how disappointed and upset I am. I do not think I will ever try to get a reservation again, and neither should you, unless you like being disappointed.

This place was a trailblazer in the farm-to-table movement back in the day. It is a stunning property, meticulously maintained. Stopped in on a Sunday (after paying an access fee online) on the way back from a nearby hike. Lovely, hilly grounds to roam around on, tasty treats for purchase at the cafe for breakfast. I believe even casual lunch is only available prix fixe pre order, and dinner is a whole separate experience, reservations for sure.. There is a farm market next to the cafe, very pricey but excellent quality. An interesting experience IF you are in the area. The crowd tends toward local hedge funders on holiday. Ample parking, restrooms avail, covid precautions in place by staff in Aug. ADA access.

I have been to Blue Hill at Stone Barns twice, and both times were excellent. I would consider it one of my favorite restaurants in the New York City area. I once went pre-pandemic, and then post-pandemic during their picnic phase.The grounds here are beautiful. There is ample parking. There is almost no cell phone service here, so be warned if you're trying to navigate home. There's a lot to see here, so I would definitely recommend taking the time to wander around.Service here is always excellent. During the course of your meal, you get to have one adventure, which could involve going to the kitchen (which was the experience that I had.The dishes that are served here are of the season. When I went for the full meal, there was an emphasis on both tomatoes and corn. All of the dishes were clearly fresh, well-prepared, and thoughtful. Some of them were very funny and clever (like the peach doughnut / doughnut peach combination).The Picnic experience was also really fun and interesting.I really have enjoyed my experiences at Blue Hill at Stone Barns. I am definitely planning on returning for another visit.

First of all, the drive up to and through the grounds is astonishingly beautiful. They grow all of their own vegetables and raise some of the game as well. And depending on the time of your visit, they'll be preparing whatever the season calls for. You can opt for the "grazing, pecking and rooting" chefs tasting menu or selections from their daily features. I had an entree consisting of bone marrow, lamb and foie gras and it was simply astonishing. You will however, pay for it I promise. And to that point, the only negative was the $1285 price tag for a party of (3) after a modest selection from the wine list. Yes, it is very pricey but, in this case you truly get what you pay for. I highly recommend this establishment for any and all special occasions. The cuisine is spectacular and the service impeccable. Until next time- Ciao!

If this review was just about the food, it would be 5 stars, no question. We enjoyed the "cafeteria" on a recent Sunday, and it was phenomenal. Everything on the tray was delightful. Even the crazy Portlandia-esque descriptions of each dish by the servers made sense & was welcomed, because 1. they were all so earnest; and 2. you know that they knew what they were talking about.However, the dining experience was confusing & the customer service - first upon arrival & then again once we were seated - was non-existent. We had to pass by 2 different people upon arrival, both of whom warned us about vax proof - but neither actually checked vax proof, it was just an exercise in repetition of what we already knew. When we walked up to the cafeteria, it was absolutely not clear where to go. There were 3 doors, and a temporary-looking rolling cart which had a logo on it referring to something else - so we walked through what seemed like the main door, and were then told to go back to that rolling cart first. Neither of the folks we'd checked in with before that mentioned the cart.After getting our food - once we seated ourselves in the lovely garden - that was the end of any service. I asked for water from 2 different staff members & never got it. I tried to go back into the cafeteria to get it myself, but the doors were locked. The staff person I ran into looked very nervous about my request (?) and then promised someone would bring me a glass of water. I saw him tell another staff member about it. They both disappeared, and I was left thirsty.Finding the restroom was also fun because there were no signs.So long story short, the food was phenomenal & worth the visit. We came for the new cafeteria concept (NOT the Michelin-starred restaurant). The cafeteria gives you samplings of the farm-to-table fare, but in a more relaxed environment and with a lower price tag (though still not a "cheap" meal at $40 per person).When you arrive, you'll get a tray and pick up various dishes while the chef explains each one to you. It's all rotated based upon what's in season. We got prosciutto-wrapped asparagus; a salad with ramp dressing; fresh bread with ramp butter and dip; a different mixed salad with experimental grain, scrambled eggs, pickled vegetables, and more little add-ins; and panna cotta for dessert.Once you pick up your food, you can take your tray to one of the picnic tables indoors or outdoors to enjoy.Afterwards, you're welcome to explore the lovely grounds and see some of the farm and trails. It's not really designed for pedestrians, though, so your milage may vary. We had to bushwhack through certain areas, and although we went to visit the chickens, we weren't sure if we were supposed to be there.Overall, it was interesting to learn about their food, and the meal was tasty. Recently gave Blue Hill at Stone Barns another chance and was completely underwhelmed. On the plus side, the venue and service is extraordinary but the price, cuisine and experience were all underwhelming. I’ve eaten at amazing restaurants all over the World and never have flinched at a price but this plate is simply absurd. First, they charge your card nearly $500 a person just to reserve a table. Then, you are subjected to a ridiculously long 5 or 6 hour meal with small underwhelming courses of home grown vegetables (with great explanations) and a few very small and average entree courses with a meal that goes on forever. When you leave you’re presented with a bill that is so large that you feel like a sucker. If I want to spend that much for an average meal, albeit an otherwise enjoyable experience, I’ll fly to Paris. I wouldn’t step foot in the place again if they paid me the $3000 I spent for dinner. Feel like a sucker. Stay away unless you want a five hour average meal and feel like pouring money down the drain. Utterly ridiculous.

I was there on what must have been an off day, but found it very expensive and not incredible for the price. It was also a long drive to get there, as I live in lower Westchester. I try to eat natural foods without chemicals, so was hopeful that this would be amazing, so my disappointment is the reason for the poor rating. I wish it could have been better, but will stick to my local small family owned restaurants from now on.

Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!

Best Answer Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.

Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?

Best Answer Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.

What happens if my bid expires unanswered?

Best Answer Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
