Bryant & Cooper Manhasset Reviews from The Last Year
I've visited Bryant & Cooper a few times over the past two
I've visited Bryant & Cooper a few times over the past two months to prove my first impression could be attributed to an off night in the kitchen. It wasn't. The good: Creamed spinach is good but the serving size is small. Lump crab meat appetizer very good. Huge baked potatoes consisting good. Desserts were consistently good. Unfortunately, that's about the extent of the positive. The steak, with several different cuts sampled, are bland slabs of beef. Same for softshelled crabs. Tasteless. "Classic wedge salad served with a lumpy, unsightly dressing but it is acceptable once mixed into the wedge and bacon pieces. The side of fried onions is large but a mass of thin, over-fried slices. The sautรฉed mushrooms are, like most other dishes, incredibly bland. Service? Best simply to tell it like it is. Consistently, waitstaff failed to visit the table after the entree was served. Same with regards to water glass refills - one visit each night. Cost each visit averaged just shy of $200 per person and, for that price, there are several better options.
My family came here last night to celebrate my birthday.
Usually we love this restaurant and it's always a hit. To start I got the Maryland crab cake which was good just slightly dry. Two of us ordered the Cajun ribeye cooked medium and it came out medium well. Considering it was my birthday and I wanted my steak to be perfect- not only that we were spending over $500 on dinner, we decided to send it back because we were all very disappointed. We received our new steaks which were cooked better but at that point our sides and other entrees were ice cold so the dinner was kind of just sucked. The ribeyes were also very oily by the way. Today all three of us felt sick and had stomach aches from our steaks. This is a great restaurant but I recommend either ordering something else if you want to get your moneys worth.
Solid! This is my second time here and the service did not
Solid! This is my second time here and the service did not disappoint. The staff here is very friendly and is very attentive to your needs. I ordered ribeye and personally I found it a bit oily and it gave me stomach ache unfortunately. My colleague had the filet and said he enjoyed it. The drinks were pretty decent as well! Ambience is really warm and inviting! I'm not sure if I'll be back anytime soon unfortunately.
A high-end steak house should bring no disappointments.
Unfortunately, this restaurant did not live up to standards. Few customers, many servers were there at lunch today. Ordered the sliced steak lunch special. My medium rare steak was perfect. But two steaks ordered medium came out well done. No one came to see if all was well. So, nothing was mentioned and there was no one to speak with on the way out. There was a very long wait to order and another long wait for the check. Excellent creamed spinach that was more spinach than cream (yummy!) Nice bread basket. Also, no reason for valet to move my car (or ask for keys). There were very few cars in the lot.
The service was Excellent and atmosphere was cozy.
The steak was amazing and perfectly cooked. Also the chicken parm was very good
Excellent steaks great service going there for many years
Excellent steaks great service going there for many years probably one of the best steaks houses around
Always wanted to try Bryant & Cooper as word on the street
Always wanted to try Bryant & Cooper as word on the street is that it's one of the best steakhouses around NY! Made a reservation about 2 weeks ago and the only available time was around 3p. When we showed up at the restaurant though, it was quite empty and no one asked for my reservation. The restaurant appears really classic on the inside and the ambiance was quiet and classy. Our server was so happy to be there. He was very nice and introduced us to the menu. We got the porterhouse steak for 2 and cream spinach and fried onions. Everything was delicious! What I really enjoyed was the crispy outer shell of the steak and very soft and juicy inside; I would agree that it was one of the best steakhouses I've been to! One thing that was a bit odd is that they had a sizable parking lot and we parked in a spot, but then the parking attendant demanded to have our keys. I guess it's bc they want to organize the cars in a different way, but in the end we had to pay tip even though we parked our own car....I guess this is a old style classic. Overall would definitely recommend!!
Food was ok.
Medium well came out burnt. Crรจme brรปlรฉe cold. Service was rushed and pushy. Pushed bar drinks hard. After $1000 bill and a $200 tip we will never go back again. All they did was rush us in order to turn the table over. Every bus boy, waiter kept hovering over our table. Taking glasses etc. oh and they "accidentally" brought over an extra coffee and cake which they left at table and charged us for.
Good food should comes with great services .
Not this place . 20% tip was given on top the bill , around $500 per person . Steak n seafood appetizer for two. With two bottles of wine. This place are always full , I guess waitress really don't care if they will be a return customer or not . Who doesn't want great service when they drop a thousand for two people? A Tomahawk for two $300 plus all other miscellaneous small dish . The service should be better . So call high end but shit service . Why need a well dressed policy on a casual dinner if the service are suck ?
First and last.
How can anyone put this in the same breath as the other spots around. Got recommended the rib steak - all fat / connective tissue. If I want to chew all night I'll buy a pack of Wrigley's. Food is subpar. Severely disappointed.
B&C Management is all about seating the next group
My Nayโs and my Maryland crab cakes were excellent! Our celebrator enjoyed her Chicken main course (Sheโs a very good cook so I give the Chef credit for that too.). She expressed satisfaction twice. My husband found nothing special about his Salmon. My sonโs Fillet Mignon was raw, instead of the medium that he ordered. Was it our order takerโs or the chefโs huge error? We knew that the sides cost $15 but the mashed potatoes was in a small bowl. The salad was swimming in vinaigrette. We had a New Yearโs Eve dinner for my sisterโs birthday and were offended that staff started taking our plates when my Nay was still enjoying her crab cake. They have no finesse. Not everything is about $$$$! Reputation weighs greater. In consideration of our crab cakes and Chicken, I have to be fair and rate B&C a 3. The above is accurate depiction of our first and last experience in Bryant & Cooper.
A great thanks giving dinner at a great steak house!
What a superior restaurantโฆ.we went out for thanksgiving this year with a toddler and infant for our dinner at 5โฆ we called earlier to see if it was better to arrive early or come at 5 ..they instructed us to come at 5 It was packed! We got there and checked in and in 5 minutes seated . The service was so impeccable! Waiters , busboys, managers working hard, keeping us so well taken care ofโฆ.the food came out hot, on time, correct orders, checking to see what we needed, what could they remove, additional sides ,etc. every one with a smile, a gracious manner . Moreno, Jose, and the staff really deserve a standing ovation. Thanks again on one of the toughest nites to dine out! The food was exceptionalโฆ.my son loved his Prime Rib, my daughter-in-law loved the stuffed shrimp dish, my wife loved the special turkey dinner. Thank you thank you thank you
Just a very overpriced steak house.
In my opinion this place is ridiculously overpriced. Other than bunch of expensive cars coming each night and people in their 60s and older coming in here in packs, I donโt see much difference from a regular steak house that costs 50% less. The ambiance inside is very nice. The food is ok but nothing special.
Happy Anniversary....
The manager acknowledged it was our anniversary. Then, he proceeded to sit us by the kitchen door while there were other available tables. Waiters were constantly hitting the back of our chairs. Then, a glass breaks about six inches from my wife's head. The restaurant was clearly in disarray. Waiters bickering back and forth congregating right by our table. We used to like to dine here, but I think we will try our luck dining elsewhere.
Good Place to Eat
Great food and great atmosphere. The staff is well trained and very attentive. I highly recommend this restaurant.
