I recently visited Cipriani Downtown for lunch, and the
I recently visited Cipriani Downtown for lunch, and the experience was extremely disappointing. The restaurant was nearly empty and I was there with my service dog and asked to speak with the manager, who was wearing glasses and a black and white suit. I inquired if I could sit outside on the patio. The manager rudely asked if my dog had a service dog ID. I informed him that while my dog does have an ID, I am not required to show it because we would be sitting on the patio, which is outside of the restaurant. He insisted in a very disrespectful manner that I show the ID and began to argue with me. His behavior was shockingly rude, unprofessional, and disrespectful. He clearly lacks basic communication skills and does not understand the rules regarding service animals. Any restaurant with outdoor seating should allow dogs without restrictions, but this manager seemed completely unaware of this standard practice. Cipriani Downtown does not deserve to have such an ill-mannered individual in a managerial position. This experience was enough to ensure I will never return, and I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone, especially those have dogs.
I had a reservation for my mother's birthday.
I was waiting at the bar when a man named Tony approached my friend and said there's a dress code. We asked what the dress code was and he said no sweatpants. My friend is black and was wearing a relaxed pair of black dress pants, which we pointed out the belt loops and pleats on the pants, but he continued to go on about sweatpants and said we were getting aggressive when we pointed these things out. Finally Tony said he'd make an exception. About 5 minutes later we're looking out the window for the rest of our party and he comes in and asks my friend "is there a problem? Why are you looking at me like that?... You're lucky to even be here" The manager Newson came over and asked what's going on although it was very clear Tony was simply being racist- singling my friend out as one of 3 black people in the establishment (the other two were sat in the farthest back table surprise surprise) for violating a dress code that does not exist. We left because it was clear they did not want black people in their establishment. I called the next day to ask about a dress code which the host on the phone and Newson said there was none. He told me Tony is a security guard and not supposed to talk to dining guests at all, but he hasn't been fired for his racism he displayed or stepping out of bounds of his job description. It was such a sad and disappointing experience when it was supposed to be a celebration. 0 stars if I could. Shame on this establishment.

Yesterday evening, I was racially profiled by the employee in this establishment. I was meeting a group of friends, for a birthday celebration. I was wearing black slacks, a T shirt, sneaker and a hat, this is important to the story. This person approached me while I was waiting at the bar with a friend saying that I had to leave because I was in sweatpants. I was not in sweatpants. I told him this, and he still went on a tangent of how my pants looked like sweatpants. We had a frustrating back and forth. I even had to lift up my shirt to show him the pleats, zipper and belt loops on my pants to prove this. He didn't care. After taking a glance around the restaurant and noticing everyone was white, some were even in sneakers and faded wash denim, I asked him if him only approaching me was because I was black. After I said this, He said he would make an exception for me, and quickly backed away. I was left shaken, uncomfortable and furious. My friend and I decided we didn't want to stay, and that we'd wait till the other two people of our party came then we would leave. I stood by the bar and was looking outside in anticipation of my other friends, when this very same guy approached us again, asking me why I was looking at him aggressively. At this point I told him I was looking out to see if my friends were here, that he was racist and he should leave me alone before things escalated. He went on to scream at me that I didn't belong in there, that he was only allowing me to be there because I was with my friend, who was white. That I was playing the race card and should be lucky he didn't drag me out of there. Then he bolted out. My friend and I were aghast, we spoke to the maître d' and he was just very indifferent to us. He comped my friend's drink bill at the bar and went his merry way. At that point my other friends were all there, so we left the restaurant. On our way out we saw the guy and my friends told him off. Just know when you go here you're in for a racist experience and you'll be supporting an establishment that hires people that make black people uncomfortable and unwanted.

Once the epitome of elegance, Cipriani Downtown has sadly become a pretentious relic, more concerned with being seen than serving quality cuisine. Don't expect exceptional service or food here; it's all about the facade. If you're seeking substance over style, look elsewhere.
Disrespectful
Food was ok, but I was extremely disappointed the service. In the end, the waiter was extremely rude and misogynistic. I have never been treated like that in a restaurante. I love Cipriani but don’t go to the downtown restaurant.
Upsetting service
Good food. Really poor service. Spoke to us in a demeaning way, I was with my daughter, and suggested that we were too drunk to order another glass of wine (while we had only had two each). I expected more from Cipriani.
The location and environment looks luxury and fancy.
Always busy and food was alright. I had a different flavored shape and style pasta and it tasted how it supposed to be but I wasn't in love. I did eat all and enjoyed what it gave. The texture of the crisp was nice n plain, not too crunchy, thin and light. The olive oil is basic n was ok when I add salt n pepper to it when dipping the bread. Some places olive oil with bread is season well inside the olive oil bottled. Expensive place obviously and wouldn't come here for it is not the way I like certain dishes and don't think prices justify for what I eat.

Hands down one of the best italian places i ever been to.
I understand the hype when people eat at Cipriani now. Great first time experience having high quality italian food and ideal for a cute lunch or even date night. The service was beyond my expectations, the waiters were very attentive and very accommodating and gave great recommendations about the food and dessert options. The ambiance is classic NYC style very quick and face paced yet has an elegant touch inside. The food came out very quickly and was so delicious. Since i wasn't too hungry i ordered the chicken salad which was the best i ever tasted, the chicken was great quality and the flavors blended together were amazing. It was so filling. I also ordered the mozzarella with tomatoes w/ olives and the cheese and tomatoes were amazing. You can never go wrong with cheese and tomatoes to start. To end the lunch, i ordered a coffee and the infamous vanilla merengue cake. The cake was so fluffy and light, it glided right through with the fork. The flavors were out of this world, i will be back to try more on the menu.

He was extremely rude and had a bad tone very unwelcoming I felt so embarrassed and uncomfortable. And he turned to the reservationist and started yelling at her as if she was wrong to take our reservation. I felt like it was discrimination. He ruined my birthday dinner we literally walked out instead of eating because of how disrespectful he was to us.

What a disappointment! If you enjoy paying WAY too much for mediocre food in a chaotic cramped space; put on your track suit and give it a shot. The frozen salmon was salty, the veal was tough and and the pasta was over-cooked. We were charged $36 for six tap waters and $25/tiny glass of cheap wine. Our bill was $1450 for six people! The artichoke salad and chicken Spazzatini was good.

This pasta was so good (baked white tagliolini with praga ham) I actually fell in love with this place. So creamy and delicious. I usually don't even eat ham all that much but this was actually so good. And the wagyu was so soft and delicious. The cake was also heavenly and the espresso martini was one of the best I ever had. The service was also very good. I definitely want to come back.

Stopped in for some cocktails and apps after a long days work. We wanted to decompress after our meetings and get ready for a wild night. We had some cocktails at the bar and then sat down for some apps to set our tummy's off right!! The only strange thing is that the martini came in a shot glass. Not what we were expecting from a place like this but ok. The food was really good though.
Unfortunately this visit was very "Underwhelming".
All the food was "off" - lamb shoulder was very gamey, Dove salad was awful, my pasta dish with lamb was average at best. Service as extremely slow. Took forever to get a waiter to finally come over. Just poor all around. Complete waste of $350.

I imagined that this would be the type of place I would sit at the bar at after spending $400 on a belt and needing to call my friend to urgently complain about some aspect of our upcoming bachelor party in the French Alps. So, after purchasing a $400 belt, I sat at the bar at Cipriani Downtown to call my friend to resolve our dispute involving the French Alps. The prices are completely made up, the bar seating is very uncomfortable, but the food is good and I found the restaurant to be true to form.
A place to go
Everything was perfect. The lentils and artichoke avocado apetizers are a knotout. Pasta with veal ragu was great. The only disappointemt was the Bellini cocktail. As an Italian this not was what I was expecting!

Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!

Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!

It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!

Does anyone know how AT plans to handle cases where a seller is quitting the platform but has a sell through rate <25%? The error message I got said to fill more bids or find other ways to increase the rate.
Is AT really going to block sellers from withdrawing their money? Especially revenue made before the sell through rate was introduced??

If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.

to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.

Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
