This is an unusual and trendy place and is very popular. The restaurant is large, rambling and purposefully ramshackle. It seems to be based on a Bombay street market. The dishes are really for sharing although there are mains and smaller courses. The service is exceptional in an American style although not requiring the excessive American tip. I had 2 small portions of crispy prawns and a chicken tandoori type dish. They were unusual and more than enough for 2 as a starter. Beware that the chicken was quite spicy and the waiter soon sorted that out for me with a delicious raita dip. Overall very enjoyable with a bill of £30 including tip and a large Kingfisher beer.
😍
The level of service was some of the best I've ever experienced
Now the food quality at Dishoom is never going to be questionable, it never misses a beat however the real stand-out star on this occasion was the service. I can't express in words how smooth the service was. From being given hot drinks outside whilst we waited (which is common, but still a nice touch to do from a company), to getting inside and sitting downstairs in the bar - the connectivity of the team was almost theatre like, everyone was so happy and knew exactly where we were supposed to be going/what we ordered. Honestly, 10/10 experience. Dishoom truly will never disappoint you.

Great food, fantastic service and excellent value. The Persian influenced Bombay cuisine was fantastic. We were made to feel like we were the only guests there. Our server, Layla, was outstanding . Wonderful experience.
My wife and I had waited throughout the whole pandemic for our first experience of Dishoom. The service was friendly, non-patronising and absolutely on point. The food was excellent and varied. Not a surprise that as we left, we saw a long queue waiting for a table. Dishoom presents as a fine dining place. The standard Indian menu is a distant memory. We’re planning to return.
😍
Thank you NAOMI for excellent recommendations and guiding me to enjoy something new!
Another awesome foodie and exceptional service experience - this is my favourite Dishoom - consistently incredible food, kindness and just the best staff. Thank you to them all but especially Naomi who always goes above and beyond x
😍
Outstanding food, brilliant service
First time at Dishoom, and it did not disappoint. Fabulous friendly service and exceptional food. The lamb samosas and Chicken Berry Britannia were absolutely delicious. As was the chai latte. As a party of 8, we were able to pre-book and beat the queues. But this place is so good, I’d happily queue any time!

So excited. So very disappointed
I was so excited to finally be going to Dishoom. I didn’t even get through the door. Having worked in the hospitality industry’s finest for over 2 decades I believe I understand the stresses and strains that are encountered. However, I can honestly say I have never been spoken to so rudely, met staff that couldn’t care less and been treated with such disrespect. Dishoom are clearly about bums on seats, get ‘em in and get ‘em out and the revenue. The staff are poorly trained. Have no idea how to manage a restaurant, speak to guests and are clearly only focused on the revenue. Customer Service couldn’t be further from their minds and their reservation/queuing/seating policy is truly amateur. Shame on you all.
My second visit to Dishoom Kings Cross, this time with my three sons, as two of us had recently had birthdays, so a nice day out with lunch , Dishoom is so authentic and tasty, with great choices , one son had the vegan menu and the other two and I shared a wonderful selection of ‘small plates’ plus I had the Traditional chai which I love, plus a rose and cardamom lassi. The staff are so welcoming and friendly, the ambience is great , I’ve re booked for April when I meet up with a friend , can’t wait !!! Oh yes … I’d book if I were you , the lunchtime queue of non bookers was HUGE !!!
Delicious breakfast naans! If you’re looking for a beautiful spot for a quick breakfast Dishoom is your spot! Assam yea was delicious too. My husband and I really loved the decor, what a place!
😍
Had an amazing breakfast here two weeks ago.
Pancakes, and then I ordered bacon and egg on the side. So delicious. I couldn't finish it and was disappointed with myself!! Looking forward to going back again soon!!

Our meal at Dishoom was amazing! We made a reservation
Our meal at Dishoom was amazing! We made a reservation which allowed us to skip the line. The menu is so different. The flavors are wonderful. We had 4 small dishes and a large dish and it was plenty for 2 people. The environment was lively and it was just fun! I cannot wait to go back.
Having visited a number of the other restaurants in the chain we were excited for a Saturday late lunch here, but unfortunately left really disappointed and unable to recommend. Fortunately we arrived with a reservation since the long queue outside was being quoted over an hours wait without one. Once inside it became apparent quite how big the restaurant is, split over three levels and numerous tables the other side of the bar at ground level. It’s nice that there is a large range of seating options, from big group tables, bar seating, low tables by the window for a casual snack and traditional options. The seating at the front area of the restaurant lacks a lot of the atmosphere, since it’s bright from the large windows and has a lot of passing people. Our table was round the rear of the ground floor, and although very close to the two adjacent ones had a good vibe and was comfortable. As soon as we were seated however the service proceeded to be poor throughout. Our initial order of drinks had to be chased and it was very difficult to converse with our allocated waiter. In fact, after waiting over half an hour for our food order to be taken, when asking to finally place it we were told “no”. This was clearly a misunderstanding again, however we continued to feel forgotten about. During all our prior visits to the chain we have noted the number of staff, and that they all seemed calm and under control. On this occasion there were still the same number of staff however the service came across chaotic and confused. Surprisingly the food arrived in good time, brought by a different member of staff without any ‘pleasantries’ of explaining what the dishes were etc. The portion sizes were good and with the flavours represented reasonable value for money. The same wasn’t true for drinks though, with soft options being close to five pounds for a bottle. Toilets are on the lower level and depending on where your table is, can be a long trek. Expect to squeeze past the close tables downstairs and wait for the staff to finish serving tables before you’re able to pass. At least the small bathrooms are clean and well decorated. Once finished with the meal it again took an age and chasing to obtain the bill, only to be told we had to pay by scanning a QR code. At this point our waiter was never to be seen again, presumably in case we wanted to debate the ‘service charge’ which had been added to the electronic bill, and therefore impossible to remove. There was no one to thank us for the visit, check if all had been okay, or even to offer assistance with paying should we have needed it. We left feeling far from valued customers and can’t imagine returning.
Dishoom was on my visit list when I planned the trip to London. If you can handle the heat, I recommend the Chilli Chicken, it is so good. and for desert I recommend the Kala Khatta Gola Ice. When I am visiting authentic restaurants I usually ask the waiter what is usually the best thing thing to eat, the waiter suggested the Gucchi Biryani and when I received it, I saw it was a huge dish filled mostly rice and little bit of mushrooms, the size of it is for a group of people, I had no plans of getting filled with just rice, so I asked someone that works there to give me a menu. This person was Artour, and later I found that he is the manager, he saw I did not eat the dish and asked what happened, after he understood, he made the experience a visit to remember. He suggested to order from the small plates so I can taste more Indian favours from the menu, he than gave me dips and said that he removed Gucchi Biryani from my and that is not all. At the end of the meal, Artour came with complementary breakfast card and said that I can use it in the next 2 months, It was a surprise as I did not ask to return the dish, he acted based on wrong recommendation I received from the waiter and noticed that I was not going to eat the dish, he made the visit perfect. The atmosphere in the restaurant is calm, highly recommend visiting and eating there. Note that there is an hour long line to get in so it is recommended to book a visit before. I was lucky to get a place on the bar with no wait. Enjoy
Took my wife and my mother in law to experience Dishoom’s flavours. Stunning! Bombay vibes, all around. The décor, the aroma, the lighting, super stylish, one of those places makes you feel cool. The food always impeccable, Ruby chicken, chilli chicken, the lamb, the bread, I could go on for hours. Trust me you can order anything on the menu, you’ll be delighted. The Staff are a bunch of lovely people who know how to give you a genuine and amazing experience. Every single team member is nice, polite and extremely helpful. Shout out to Arantxa, who looked after us, we had the best time. Definitely coming back, Dishoom is a game changer, affordable, pretty good cocktails and banging food.

We've been to a few other Dishoom locations, but this one
We've been to a few other Dishoom locations, but this one was new to us. It's a massive location and I love how vertical it is - there's like four different levels which creates a much more spacious feel to the restaurant. Putting an extra bar in the basement creates a cool vibe as well. Definitely make a reservation though as, even though it's large, the line was just as much around the block as every other Dishoom location. Foodwise? I mean excellent. As good as it gets for me. Love that there's just a couple curries but a ton of stuff coming from the grill. Their grilled paneer is one of my favorites. The chicken ruby is a classic too, the epitome of the classic. Can't wait for Dishoom to come to America....please?!
😍
I visited for breakfast with my family, and we split a few
I visited for breakfast with my family, and we split a few dishes. Here is the consensus:The bacon naan roll is incredible, not to be missed! Good quality rashers and fresh-baked bread prepared well and consistently -- well worth the price. The fry-up is a fun twist on the traditional full monty, with traditional components seasoned generously with Indian spice blends. The masala beans are not to be missed, though the eggs were a bit overcooked and watery. The mushrooms and tomatoes were of very fine quality, extremely fresh, and added both a wonderful taste and texture. The house variant on an espresso martini was good, extremely well-composed so even the black walnut bitters got their moment in the spotlight, though the chili liqueur was just spicy enough to venture into unpleasant, at least for my own tastes.Next time I come for breakfast, I'll be sticking with the bacon naan roll... though I may also request a side of the masala beans. Nothing I wouldn't eat again, but the naan roll and the beans really stand out.

A classic homage to Parsi Indian Cafe atmosphere, From the food to the service, this was one of the best experiences I had. We got the bun muska, parsi omelette and the akuri. All of these recipes are a must. Dishoom is a must visit if i ever revisit London.

A bit late with this review, as we have been here a few times over the years, but this is a great place for Indian food, the ambiance is very chill, food is just amazing and the service is wonderful. A great place to come for a special occasion or just because you want to have some great Indian food come by here, they have a few locations around London, you may need to book in advance for a table or just go stand by and have a short wait, depending on the time you come by . Highly recommend this place, we found this a few years ago and when ever we are in you we make a point of coming by.

Excellent food, every item we ordered was fantastic beyond our expectations in terms of taste, temperature, flavor and the server was very patient. Ambiance was good but a bit noisy for a quiet conversation.

I enjoyed dinner at this Dishoom location with a group of friends and everything, I mean everything!, was great. We made a reservation (they take them until 5pm) which while early was totally worth not having to stand in line. (Note, I've stood in line to eat at another location and they were very transparent with wait times and gave chai to enjoy while standing in line). Some recommended dishes are the chaat, the jackfruit biryani, and the basmati kheer. We also loved the colaba colada and the non alcoholic version, a great compliment to the dishes! Also, our server was top notch and every staff member was friendly, helpful, and didn't blink an eye at my very energetic baby.
😍
Our first time to Dishroom and our server was excellent.
She recommended how many dishes to order and was very patient while explaining the menu to us. The gunpowder potatoes were fantastic as was the chicken curry. I can see why this place is beloved in London
😍

Run, don't walk here! The food is amazing!! Honestly, a 10 out of 10. The lamb chops were my favorite. The pomegranate and lemon really said it over the edge. The spicy lamb was a close second as well. So good spicy but not overwhelmingly hot. I can't wait to go and try more things from the menu. Although the restaurant looks small from the outside, it is very large and the ambience is nice. They have a bar downstairs to order drinks at while you wait on the table. I can't wait to come back to London and try Dishoom again!
😍
Lovely place to eat and relax
Dishoom Kings Cross has a really lovely and relaxed atmosphere, we went at lunch and got an amazing low table with big rattan chairs on the ground floor. It has funky Indian music, lots to see and the decor is great and very different - a club like atmosphere. I could have spent a few hours here just sipping drinks and eating slowly. The food is great, it is quite rich but very tasty. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We shared 8 small dishes between 3 and there was plenty of food, with each dish well cooked and perfectly spiced.

Best ever visit to Dishoom thanks to Craig!

Had a great experience at Dishoom Kings Cross today thanks to our waiter Craig. Good energy from the start, took his time to recommend some dishes and was extremely attentive throughout. Food was delicious so you can definitely trust his recommendations! I’d personally recommend the prawn koliwada, black daal and cheese naan. If you’re in Kings Cross, Craig’s ya guy!
😍
Fabulous meal - top serving staff - thanks Iman
Wonderful food. The house dhal and the chicken Ruby are so so tasty. The serving staff were all great especially Iman who went above and beyond to make our evening fantastic - thank you

Delicious food and very immersive experience. It is a perfect restaurant for a special occasion. Also you get unlimited refills of the chai!! I would personally avoid their breakfast though
😍
As good as people say it is
The food was so good. The Mattar Paneer so was so full of flavour. The service from Ruben was brilliant. He was really helpful with guiding us through the menu and attentive throughout. I couldn’t recommend more highly.

Unique Dining Experience
After a long day at Wimbledon, we arrived at Kings Cross and joined the short queue and were seated at the bar awaiting a table. We were offered a quiet corner with a low table and seating. This is a restored rail equipment shed thus providing a large space upstairs and downstairs. Drinks were good, service was prompt and at times seemed rushed due to the late hour. This is a fusion of Irani/ Parsi/Indian cusine, very tasty and spiced just right. We shared Pau Bhaji, Chilli Chicken, Chicken Berry Britannia, Spicy Lamb Chops, Bowl of greens and Plain Naans. Disappointed that there were no Roomali rolls or rotis available. Prices very high for the small portions. Overall an unique dining experience.
Dishoom is my favourite restaurant in London. Once again, we had an amazing time, we enjoyed the delicious food, especially the plate with the lamb, yummy! The staff very friendly, quick service. We sat for a while at the bar, where we found Artour and we're very happy to see him again. We received an exceptional service from Artour as always, he is a star in Dishoom!! Great experience thank you Dishoom!
🙂
An interesting place in an interesting place
We needed a spot of breakfast before heading home today. What a lovely restaurant! The atmosphere felt something out of a movie, it was lovely. The food was really nice with a good breakfast menu to choose from. Very interesting flavours, and prompt service too. Whilst i may never have breakfast there again so it will be on my list next time I’m in London to try lunch or dinner.

Highly recommend the chai! Some of the best chai we had in London. The okra, vada Pao, and other veggie options were all pretty good!
I arrived from Australia today and first stop was Dishoom Kings Cross! The quality of food is as good as it has always been, I sat at the bar and received lovely hospitable service from Artour. A great welcome to London!
Dishoom at King’s Cross is one of the best restaurants in London!! Lovely food, drinks, atmosphere! I love the decor of the restaurant and the staff are very friendly. A very big thank you to Artour who provided an exceptional service and experience at the bar and he took care of us!! I will definitely recommend Dishoom at King’s Cross and hopefully I will be back soon!

Finally tried the famous breakfast item - bacon naan roll!
Finally tried the famous breakfast item - bacon naan roll! It tasted like a nyc breakfast sandwich tbh, but wrapped in a freshly heated naan roll filled with chilli jam and cream cheese. While I loved the cream cheese, the jam was a bit sweet which was unexpected as the name of the dish implied a savory breakfast. The portion size was good and not too filling. We also got complimentary cake and ice cream for our breakfast celebration!

Our first time at Dishoom.
We were overwhelmed by the menu at first and decided to ask for some recommendations. Our server, Mirka was fantastic. We followed his suggestion and we love everything we got. Food is well balanced in flavour and not too overwhelmed with spices. The service also prompt and attentive. Thank you Mirka (along with kitchen and bar team) for a great service!

I visited Dishoom per a friend's recommendation and I'm very glad I listened to her. The food portions are somewhat on the small side but it invites the opportunity to try lots of different things. The black daal was very good, as was the lamb chops, and of course, the naan was so tasty. The only thing I might say is you'll have to wait a bit for your food. The place is always busy.

The wait was long but the staff make it smooth and enjoyable. Loved it.

Been to 4 different Dishoom's and I think that this is quite possibly my favorite. Say at the bar, service was efficient and fast (compared to the one in Soho), and food was excellent as always. Love the ambiance and decor here! Like every Dishoom, highly recommend making a reservation. I missed mine but since I was alone, they luckily were able to seat me at the bar.

A friends daughter who travels to London told me this is a must. She was sooooo right. One of the best meals ever. The Lame was delicious. The samosas were outstanding really everything that we tried was really wonderful. Don't forget to try the fried okra it's prepared a little differently than it is in the states that it was so good.
Some of the best Indian food I've ever had. The chicken baryani, the shrimp, and the dall lentil soup were my favorites. The permit room too was great. Loved the concept. Food and service were excellent

What a wait indeed! 90 minutes later and seated by the lavatories...and had the most incredible meal for our family! You must try the okra fries, black daal, mutton, and jackfruit biryani. STAY AWAY FROM THE NASTY SALTY CHIPS SERVED AT THE LOWER COCKTAIL WAITING LOUNGE. The naan is to die for...just be prepared to wait with everyone else for dinner after 5pm. This location is 3 levels and the vibe is AMAZING!

Dishoom lived up to reputation
Couldn’t book, so relied on walk in. Well it was worth waiting for but wrap up warm! Long queue but efficiently managed. Service impeccable from in line, all the way via bar area waiting to table and menu explained. Fab array of familiar and different dishes. Delicious indeed.
😍
Delicious meal served by friendly, knowledgeable waiters.
A 30 minute wait to enter during dinner so be patient. Once inside, the food tasted fresh and delicious. I would dine here again.
😍
Believe the hype! Very good.
Went to Dishoom with a group of 10 having been unable to unfortunately book a table. However, staff were accommodating and we were happy to wait, which took much less time than expected. Definitely recommend going in the early afternoon if you don’t have a booking. Thanks to Andrea for putting us at ease by listening carefully to our dietary requirements and guided us through the menu. She did a great job. Danke!
The food was exceptional, we tried to sample as many dishes as possible and the standouts were easily the house Black Dahl and the Chicken Biryani. Although we weren’t let down by a single dish. Prices are reasonable and the staff were excellent and very attentive. The restaurant itself is presented beautifully with lots of fascinating sights and smells. Close to the train station. Dishoom is certainly not one to miss!
😍
LOVELY lunch and unlimited chai!
My boyfriend and I came here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon and WOW! What a delight! We were seated at the bar which was wonderful as the staff were attentive, there was plenty of space and it was a beautiful setting. The food was beautiful, with the most incredible black lentil daal, and we loved the gunpowder potatoes too! Thanks for a wonderful experience.
A staff member who I only just caught the name of, I think it was Hemit, was wonderful throughout our meal. It was great to meet another Mancunian too! Thanks for everything Hemit :)
😍
Such a lovely experience
The staff from the moment we arrived where fabulous. We waited a very short time to be seated as we didn’t have a reservation. Luca our cashier was so brilliant. As it was my first time at any dishoom, he explained the menu very well. Also made sure our food was prompt as our time was limited.
Our first visit to Dishoom lived up to expectation, we booked in advance so no queuing. We were talked through the menu by a very knowledgeable member of the team, we went with his recommendations and we were not disappointed. We visited on a Sunday evening and place was very busy, great atmosphere. Dishoom is well worth a visit. Hope to return soon
🤮
Worst experience as a loyal customer. Won’t be visiting again
Been here few times now and went with friends this time. Waited in the queue outside for about 45mins then in the bar downstairs around 15-20mins. Having to wait that long once in our seats orders should’ve been taken once customers have seated but no we were told by the waiter to wait until he takes order from 2 more tables. So we called one of the waiters to take our order which he did on a piece of paper slip which they normally do on the tablet for convenience.
Therefore, I don’t think I’ll be coming back here again as I have received fantastic service other times I’ve come here but this time I didn’t feel it, it just didn’t feel like worth time and money.
When it came to paying I asked nicely if optional service could be removed and once paid with card waiter didn’t even wait and confirmed nor gave me the card receipt he just went to the next table for payment. To top it all of that was the worst a customer gets in a restaurant like that.
On a recent trip to London, we ate at Dishoom twice - both times, we joined the queue and were told to expect about an hour and a half wait. We never waited over an hour, however, and while we waited, we were brought delicious hot chai to enjoy. On our first visit, Beth was our server - she gave us great recommendations from the menu and was friendly and attentive throughout our meal. We loved the chicken and lamb curry, sweet potato house chaat, and black daal. The vibe is energetic in the restaurant; lots of people enjoying food and company!
