The Ivy Los Angeles Reviews from The Last Year
The service at the Ivy was wonderful.
My husband Branzino was cooked perfectly, tastier than my sea bass. The shrimp cocktail was great. We loved those scones served as soon as we sat down. The portions were so good that I didn't even finish my entree. The only thing we didn't like was how close the tables were placed next to each other. After the meal, we popped into Blue Bottle across the street to get my favorite coffee. All in all a nice stop in the area but probably won't be back because how close the tables were set up.

We have been coming to LA for 30 years, always enjoyed The Ivy for Sunday brunch or dinner. Tonight was a total disaster. We had been seated with no server for at least 20 minutes. We ordered crab cakes, a small pizza and the BbQ ribs. The crab cakes were overtired hockey pucks, the pizza was cardboard with tasteless sauce and over done. The ribs were charred and also only tasted burned BBq sauce. We will never go back and suggest they find a new chef and hire more servers!

The decor of the restaurant was very quaint like dining at your elderly grandmothers house but it was charming! The service was very good and the waiters were very quick to clear plates and refill drinks. The food and drinks were very good! Everyone enjoyed their dishes and I was very pleased!
Beautiful ambiance! Sit outside, best during the day.
You are going for the service and ambiance, not for a large selection of vegan items. The Ivy salad is a classic and solid, pomodoro pasta is good but basic, veggie tacos were surprisingly delicious and flavorful! All of the drinks (alcoholic and non alcoholic) are beautiful and tasty!

Loved our lunch at the Ivy- the staff was warm and attentive and seated us right away. It was great to be outside with all the roses and lovely decor. The drinks and salads were fantastic and creative. And the TMZ bus stopped and stared at us as if they were on safari, scooping the diners for celebrity spotting.
Had a great lunch with our 8 month old and our 5 year old.
Drinks were yummy and food was so good.
This place is wonderful in every way.
Worth it! The staff, the flowers everywhere, the food! It's a tradition whenever my family comes to visit.
We had an absolutely wonderful time at the IVY RESTAURANT
We had an absolutely wonderful time at the IVY RESTAURANT on Robertson Blvd. We began with EASY, EASY VALET PARKING, right out front. The attendant was very friendly and professional!!! We were met inside by the greeter, who gave us a table for two out front. It's just what we wanted!!! It reminded me of MONSTER IN LAW. We were NEXT met by our server(s), who went through the entire menu choices. We started with flat PANNA WATER!!! Inadvertently, we were told that they still served CHICKEN ENCHILADAS. Although that wasn't the case, the CHEF agreed to make them, as a courtesy. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!! WE ORDERED A VARIETY OF THINGS FROM THE MENU: Caesar Salad, and 2 Bowls of Corn Chowder. NEXT, Chips with Guacamole. For my partner, he had the Chicken Enchiladas. For myself, I had the Swordfish with Fries, and Lobster Ravioli. It was a delicious combination!!! We had the absolute best service. We were given the Chicken Enchiladas, but I was also perfectly happy substituting the Swordfish for the Sea Bass. While we were dining, we were lucky enough to have the TMZ TOUR drive by.

I had a really great dinner there! The decor was very floral and the food was very on point! I had the Lobster Ravioli with a Caesar Salad. They also serve you their house bread which is amazing!

A wonderful experience for my birthday brunch yesterday! I ordered the huevos rancheros, and the two girls I was with ordered mini pizzas. The food was delicious and our waiter was extremely attentive (all of the staff members here were wonderful). We asked for a dessert menu and my cousin asked if my dessert could be brought out with the sparkler. However, I didn't end up being hungry for a dessert. The waiter ended up bringing me a little fruit and dessert plate with a sparkler! It was so nice of him to do this even though I didn't end up ordering dessert. I hope to come back on my next trip to LA!
Literally one of the best dinners I've ever had.
The Ivy is absolutely beautiful, the food is sensational, and the staff are wonderful and helpful! Definitely recommend trying out, you won't be disappointed!
Overpriced and overrated.
I've tried 3 times in the last few months to come back, changing my order each time, but the food is just okay at best - "the best crab cakes" are some of the worst I've ever had. The service is fairly quick, and the vibe is so-so, but overall not worth the money. Also they recently implemented a minimum on what each person has order, which is frankly ridiculous.
What a phenomenal restaurant.
Excellent service, fantastic food. The menu is so varied and terrific. One of us had the crab salad, one had the Australian lamb chops and I had the Chilean sea bass. Everything was excellent.

I'd like to continue to warn that if you are planning a dinner party with family and friends for a birthday or other celebration please beware. My wife and I spoke with management and carefully planned out our reservation for 7 pm on a cold December Saturday evening for my 70th. When we arrived and mentioned we had a reservation for 8 for this celebratory dinner, we were dismissed and told to wait down by the street, that there were no tables available for another 45 minutes. But what about the bunch of empty tables for 4 next to each other? I was told by the "guy" that he had other customers to take care of. There was no one else to speak with and we told the "guy" we had spoken with a manager a few times including that day and confirmed - he was dismissive - couldn't care less. No place else to escape to at that hour so we all waited and waited in the cold - humiliating. My wife walked back up and said to the reservations guy "how can you do this, it's my husbands 70th Birthday and I planned this with management - a giant bouncer walked over to her and said "You're going to have to wait down on the street or all of you will have to leave here." Nice, right? The food was okay - no longer special - not the place to go to anymore - probably not for a long time.

It is a visually amazing experience! Pros - fresh roses are so ready to get into one's pics - porcelains in different blue and white patterns are on the wall. - the dinnerware has interesting patterns - the food is delicious - waiters are nice, helpful and attentive - dine to impress - a great place to entertain/impress guests Cons Difficult to find street parking. Most likely, valet parking is the solution. Tables are small

Service was very slow and the hosts could not find our reservation which we showed them the confirmation. The food was very mediocre! I've had Better Fried Chicken at KFC fries were over cooked The calamari was bad & & we didn't see or taste anything special about the fish & chips.

At least there is a hospital across the street for when the nausea of being in such a horrendously overpriced and overhyped restaurant dawns on you like an anvil to the testes. Also, note to the s t a r f u c k e r s: it's very doubtful any celebrities even go here anymore. So, don't bother wasting your money here to gawk stupidly around while you eat your $40 breakfast burrito. The place looks, however, very "cute." Service is friendly. Food should be in a diner in podunk Missouri where the head short-order cook enjoys watching Iron Chef.
Do not recommend.
Over priced less than average food. The decor is beautiful and the staff was very friendly but I would not go back.
Ambiance lovely with florals and French provincial decor.
Food was standard. Drinks were good and strong. Try the lovely rose sangria! A good old Beverly Hills spot to see and be seen.

If you drive to The Ivy and valet park, make sure you tour the entire car with the valet attendant before AND after you get your car. I made the mistake of not doing that and discovering the next day that I had a major dent in the car, not a ding but a huge gash. Very costly lesson learned. Their security cameras clearly showed no damage to my car at drop off but "surprisingly" they claim there is no clear image at drop off because the attendant did not pull the car all the way up to where the camera is. Perhaps that was not a coincidence? I just received the estimate from the body shop for over $5,800 in repairs! Diner beware, check your car thoroughly before and after valet service but before you drive away. They will absolutely not cooperate and you are on your own.

Atmosphere is great, service was amazing, and food was really good. I definitely recommend it. Now it's more expensive than your basic restaurant, but then again, this isn't basic. You get what you pay for, so if you want to save money, go to Dennys

Superb in every way.
. .all staff members terrific and welcoming. . servers couldn't have been more perfectly attentive and well paced with our delicious lunch. . top notch Caesar Salad. . very good guacamole/chips. . and fish and chips beautifully prepared and plated: calamari, scallops, shrimp and wild sea bass. . .
Antoinette was so sweet and pleasant.
She kept on checking in. Food was delicious. The corn chowder was amazing and I wanted to eat 3 or 4 bowls but I ordered the fried chicken. I love the vibe here. I like the eclectic decor and the fresh roses. They have 3 or 4 seating areas and they all looked or felt so fun and "light".
Did this place ever have a fall from grace.
The service is good, the ambiance is cute and my grandmother loves the decor. The food is mediocre for the price. You will definitely spot a celebrity from the golden age of Hollywood.
Great ambiance and food, I really enjoyed it.
I saw the negative reviews and wondered if this people actually ate there?
Went there for lunch with 2 friends on a Wednesday.
Ambiance and service were nice. We ordered tagliatelle with mushrooms, french fries and a salad. It was a total disappointment. The tagliatelle were super heavy and buttery, the french fries straight from the freezer fried in bad oil and the salad nothing special. The dessert was super sweet, we almost didn't touch it. This place is overrated and disappointing. Won't revisit.
Went to the Ivy on a Saturday night for dinner.
It was a rainy night so we asked to sit inside. They sat us near the fireplace, which was a perfect night for it. I've been there many times over the years and the experience is always great. The decor is lovely and charming. The colored roses are just gorgeous. The service is attentive. The drinks are amazing (and expensive) - the gimlet is memorable. The portions are generous (although again, expensive). The food, however, is only so-so. I don't really think you come here for the food (although when I come for lunch, I get the chopped vegetable salad which is incomparable). We split a soft shell crab appetizer. We each got about one bite. For my main, the waiter suggested the mussels from the daily special menu - they were overcooked and the sauce was too thick. My friend got the branzino and shrimp which he liked better. For dessert we split a pecan bar with ice cream. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Dined at The Ivy, an alleged legacy restaurant in Los Angeles and somewhat of a "splurge". Service was mediocre at best, menu is old & tired, like a 1970's version of The Cheesecake Factory, and the pricing is extremely on the high side with the food, drinks and service not matching up to the price or reputation I thought they had. Would not dine here again.

Alan is amazing! He has the best recommendations! It was my first time there and I can say I'll definitely be back again! Everything was over the top so delicious and amazing and large portions, even the sangria was a big cup! The ambiance is to die for, I love all the greenery and beautiful flowers/trees. The customer service here is extraordinary 10/10!!!! This restaurant is amazing, we came in with a dish in mind and it's no longer on the menu but they accommodated us and still prepared it! I can't wait to come back and try more delicious food! Please see my photos for the food :)

Too expensive! The food was not a wow! But the drinks and desserts were really good. The place is too small and tables are very close to each other which I don't like but the design of place and plates are cute. The restroom was very clean!

I must admit when my friends said we were going here for brunch during our Girls' Weekend, I had my doubts. I thought it may be a place more to be seen rather than to eat. Boy, was I (pleasantly) wrong! This place is SO cute! I love all the vintage decor. Imagine country chic , mixed with shabby chic and a good dash of Ralph Lauren. There were 4 main dining areas that I could see and each had a distinct personality, but all were tied together by lovely fresh mixed roses and charm. This place would be so cute whether you're on a date or with a group. And the food was great too! They started us with complementary warm biscuits/scones with currants. This was served with butter and fruit preserves on the side. Delicious! From there, we shared the Black Truffle pizza. The truffle was shaved table side and the pizza was hot and crisp. Delicious start! I had the California sea bass daily special and chose a white wine, butter, caper sauce with it. On the side, I opted for French fries, but they offered other selections like mashed potatoes as well. This dish was perfectly cooked. I ate every bite. To drink I had the tropical sangria which was refreshing and filled with different fruit such as pomegranate, pear, dragon fruit and a blackberry. It was gorgeous from every angle, From the host to the server to the bus boys, Service was kind and attentive. We absolutely loved our experience here and I personally can't wait to return.
One of my favorite place in LA.
Yes it's pricey and food is okay but ambiance and drinks are amazing. They always have these beautiful flowers and pottery. I come here for birthdays or Valentine's Day. For b day person they give complementary cake with nice candle light (last couple years though they give browny instead of b day cake) it's a nice date spot and I prefer brunch time over dinner time.
Los Angeles's Best Restaurants that are most frequently booked by customers of The Ivy Los Angeles
Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!
This app is life changing
This app has opened my world up to so many wonderful new experiences I would never have the chance to have without access to this awesome app! 10/10!

Worked well, got me into a restaurant with no availability
I was skeptical, and I still don't really know how they managed to find this hard-to-find reservation, but it was a win-win from my point of view, and I'll use this service again.
Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.
Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
Payouts Blocked Because of Sell Through Rate
Does anyone know how AT plans to handle cases where a seller is quitting the platform but has a sell through rate <25%? The error message I got said to fill more bids or find other ways to increase the rate.
Is AT really going to block sellers from withdrawing their money? Especially revenue made before the sell through rate was introduced??
Tune into NBC News - Top Story Tonight 7:40p ET
Let’s go. Get more people placing bids!
I will give you 50% of ALL of my PROFITS if you teach me how to make profits?
LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.
Appointment
Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil
🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🧨🧨🧨 now on to 30 mill!
Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
