The waiters were friendly and knowledgeable and maintained a good pace, bringing dishes one or two at a time. Some of our favorites were the dosa with chutneys, the radicchio salad with citrus and avocado, and the roasted shitake mushrooms. The beluga lentils were very tasty but quite acidic - we paired them with a side of sticky rice. The cocktails and nonalcoholic drinks were creative and well balanced. Overall, it was a very tasty and pleasant meal - but at this price, with plates of this size, I expect dishes to pack a bigger punch.

We came here with a big group so we sampled several of their dishes. Definitely recommend and it's a bigger plus that it is vegan. Some of the highlights:Dosa, figs, basmati rice, little gem lettucesPersonally, the desserts were the gems of the night and I loved the chocolate cake and the hazelnut mochi. The mezcal passionfruit cocktail was also delicious. Service was polite and prompt-- they definitely keep the courses/dishes going with no lag time in between. This is also the place that holds you to your reservation time and gives you warnings leading up to the end of your time!

Visited ABCV on Valentine's Day for a date night and I got to say, this vegan restaurant by renowned chefs, Jean Georges & Neal Harden, lives up to all the hype. I am not a big fan of vegan/plant based food but was completely blown away by the dishes we tried here, a total culinary experience: 1. California dates with whipped coconut yogurt and tahini, pistachio, mint and lemon- an absolute delightful dish with unique ingredients, I could never imagine went so well with dates.2. Dosa with sambal, mint and pear chutney. The pear chutney was my favorite and the dosa good too! Was so glad to see Indian dishes on the menu which didn't disappoint.3. Mushroom walnut bolognese- this pasta was soul food. So comforting and rich. It came with mushroom sauce and every bite had the crunch from the walnuts. Thanks to our sever for her top recommendation!4. Whole roasted cauliflower with turmeric tahini, za'atar, pomegranate, red zhug, fresh herbs & pistachio- the sauces in this dish were excellent! If I could, I'd ask for a side of each! Highly recommend!

After sharing two appetizers, two entrees, and a dessert with my companion, I left ABCV underwhelmed--and a little hungry. The physical space is trendy, intimate, and comfortable, and our affable server was very knowledge about the menu; that is when we could find him. We dined on a busy Wednesday evening and waited too long for everything, including ordering.With one or two exceptions the food was bland, skimpily portioned, and disappointing. We paid about $35 for a special pasta with morels that turned out to be something one might toss together when cleaning out a pantry. The only item I thought was notable was the set of avocado and lettuce wraps. Finally, the cocktails were tasty, but skimpy like the food. And we enjoyed our $92 bottle of Sauvignon Blanc--one of the less expensive wines on the menu.Overall, not a terrible meal; the ambience is cool and the staff were friendly. I just found the food boring, paltry, and overpriced.

There were plenty of reservations available a week in advance but the restaurant was full on a Wednesday night.The restaurant is pretty cool, a bit like an art studio vibes. It is a bit loud and some tables are closer together than others. Food/drinks:-Cocktails were both good and really balanced. I got a mezcal maracuya(?) and loved it-Dosa was great as well. Whatever mango/passion fruit dip that was was AMAZING-the Beets made in a tartare style was decent. Needs to be mixed together to get all the flavors intended-whole cauliflower was good, but I think it needs more tahini and topping. It's only covered at the top and there needs to be more topping/sauce for the middle/base that isn't exposed-bolognese - definitely our favorite. It's great stuff!

I really wanted to like this restaurant more, but I left feeling kind of disappointed in my experience. Anytime I go to a city like NYC, I get excited about the abundance of vegan and vegetarian options. I had heard such good things about this place and decided to give it a shot. My sister and I had a reservation for 2 but last minute, a friend was joining us, so we had to cancel it. Unfortunately, on a Saturday night at 7 pm, they said the wait to dine inside would be quite long and the only seating they had was outside. After turning the heater on, which honestly did not help in the near freezing weather, and sitting in front of a view of trash bags on the street, we asked if we could wait for a table inside. After telling us no twice and us considering leaving to find somewhere else to eat, they eventually said that we could wait and they would have a table ready in 30 minutes. The wait ended up being closer to an hour and 15 min and every group was seated before us. The restaurant seems to be designed for pairs, which was why it must have been so difficult to get a table. We were seated at one corner of a table of 6 and a different couple was seated next to us. We honestly did not mind sharing our space at all! Due to the long wait, they brought us a complimentary honeynut squash with pita as an appetizer. It was a pleasant surprise! The squash was a good mix of sweet and savory and the mint made it taste really fresh. The pita portions were very small though. To start off, we got the crisp radicchio salad. I really loved the mesh of textures and flavors. The spiced avocado paired well with the fresh fruit, but the dressing was heavy on the garlic and ended up overtaking the entire salad. For entrees, we got the spinach spaghetti and the custardy tofu. The spinach spaghetti was bland, but the lemon upped the flavor as did the umami/tang from the gran kinara cheese. The custardy tofu was a very unique dish for me. It melted in your mouth. The broth was a little more sour than I was expecting, but it paired well with the coconut rice as suggested by the waiter. We were also given a scoop of delicious sorbet with a candle even though it was none of our birthdays! Overall, the service during the meal was good, the ambiance was nice, and the food is interesting/unique, but I don't think the experience was really memorable. Rate 3 stars for food and prices but add a star for the 2 complimentary dishes.

It always amazes me even more that all the dishes are raw vegan and so flavorful. They all have such elegant flavor profiles and divine presentation. The drinks are amazing! The service is amazing! Because I've gone a few times and have tried nearly everything on the menu I can't recommend a specific thing because EVERYTHING IS GOOD. Everyone is very kind and friendly the atmosphere is welcoming. I will share a few images but trust me when I say you'll enjoy anything you order here! The only thing I'm sad about is one of my favorite dishes they usually have was out of season for the current menu so I missed out on getting it again. Technically the seasonal menu just makes the experience more adventurous and surprising! Excited to visit again and see what they have in store

Food was very good, but the service was pretty bad. Before our drinks arrived, the food arrived. It was within minutes of ordering. The cauliflower was terrific, but slightly warmer than room temperature. It obviously had been sitting under a heating lamp. Twenty minutes later our second entre arrived. In between there was a bread plate with a chickpea side. The waitress hardly ever looked at our table. Waiters were removing food when it was obvious that we were not finished. If they took away the cauliflower, we would have had a long wait until our next course. After the second course the woman bussing asked if we were "still picking at it?" The restaurant is very noisy. The quality of the food, however, is high. All of our dishes, including the pasta Bolognese were very good.

ABCV is one of my New York favourites, an absolute must visit every time I’m in the city. The food never disappoints, such unique dishes which are always incredibly flavourful. Ive never tasted cauliflower like it! Vegan food showcased at its finest. The restaurant itself is refined yet still has a buzzing and comforting atmosphere. Will 100% be returning and recommend it to vegans and non-vegans alike!

As we we were only staying in NYC for 2 nights it was very important for us to find a restaurant with good vegetarian food. abcV certainly didn't disappoint!! The range of option on the food was excellent as were the drinks with the smoothies being a hit with us. The wood roasted rainbow carrots were enough to make me want to travel back across the Atlantic to taste them again!! The staff are friendly, attentive and really know the menu well. The only thing stopping a full five stars is that the acoustics are not great, so if you are looking for an intimate romantic meal it may not be perfect, but you certainly won't be disappointed.

I've been here for dinner, and I have a five star review then and would have given 10 if I could. However, coming here for lunch was quite underwhelming compared to dinner. First off, about half, maybe more, of the menu was NOT vegan. There were eggs in the almond flour pancakes, and honey in the spicy slaw. This limited the selection. Also the whole roasted cauliflower isn't available for lunch, despite online menus suggesting so. I literally would die for that cauliflower, but that's getting sidetracked. This time, my sister and I ordered the avocado lettuce cups, the hemp and quinoa burger, and the sautéed mushrooms. The avocado lettuce cups were the best thing we ordered. So delightfully fresh, with crisp crunch from the lettuce, plus hard crunch from pumpkin seeds, combined with creamy avocado and two fat slices of wonderfully roasted delicata squash, sprinkled with salt. There was a light drizzle of citrusy herby dressing that brought the dish over the top. We literally savored every bite. The burger was pretty good, though definitely not the best veggie burger I've had, made from imitation meat or not (this is not). The patty is very one-flavor, one-texture, and is a little soft so it doesn't contrast that much with the other ingredients in the burger. The burger has a sauce reminiscent of fast food special sauces, which brought me back to pre-vegan days for a split second. The market salad is also underwhelming- just greens and a light creamy dressing, nothing else. Not worth 27 at all. The sautéed mushrooms were delicious and perfectly cooked. Not rubbery or stringy at all, and you could see so many types of mushrooms in there. Delightful. However, it was served last, on its own, so my sister and I kind of just ate... mushrooms... which I'm not really complaining about, since they were really good mushrooms and really preserved the mushrooms' integrity, but it would've been much better alongside other dishes- maybe pasta, maybe even in the burger. Would order again... if I could eat it with the cauliflower and bolognese pasta haha. All in all, beware of lunch versus dinner menu!

My sister and I visited for brunch on a Sunday at 1:30pm, and nearly every table was taken. Make sure to book a reservation a few days in advance! We also had 3 different servers as the first two got too busy and couldn't help us anymore. They were all very kind and helpful though despite the work demands. The brunch menu has limited vegan options compared to their dinner menu, but our server explained that poached/fried eggs could be substituted for avocado. We got the avocado lettuce wraps ($19 for only 2?!), seared mushrooms ($20, veganized with avocado substitute instead of egg), and the hemp/quinoa burger ($27). We had wanted to try the avocado tartine, but they were out of that. The wraps and mushrooms were our favorite. The wraps had a perfect blend of spices and textures and were sturdy to eat by hand. The mushrooms were simpler in flavor (salt, pepper, and dill), but were cooked to just the right softness. The burger itself had good flavor, but the patty was too soft and mushy for my liking. The beets on the side were also sour and atrocious to eat--better left as a colorful plate "decoration". Overall, definitely not worth the $27. We still had an appetite after the 3 dishes and were craving vegan croissants, but after experiencing the small portion sizes, we decided to get the pastries elsewhere. I've heard more positive things about abcV's vegan dinner options, so I hope to try that someday!
