Indian Accent Restaurant, New York Reviews from The Last Year
Absolutely loved Indian Accent.
2 course meal with a variety of options. The chaat was delicious! The doda barfi and malai desserts were out of this world amazing!! Would return just for the dessert. Great and fast service. Restaurant is clean and great for photos. Paid garage parking adjacent.

Can I get a HOLY SHIT in here?!! One of the best meals I've had in my LIFE. My friends and I were celebrating a birthday and heard they take the CEO of our company to the India location of this restaurant when he visits so of course we gotta try it for ourselves. A reservation for 4 for a Monday night was easy to get a few weeks ahead of time. They offer a 3 or 4 course tasting menu (I'm not sure if they offer a la carte items). Definitely go for the 4 course because it's only $10 more than the three course. My friends and I coordinated and ordered something different for each course and then ate the dishes family style to try more options - definitely recommend! I forgot exactly what we ordered but every dish was an incredible fusion of classic Indian flavors with a few East Asian and california fresh inspiration. The highlights were the shrimp mid course, the brazino (sea bass) main, and everything in the dessert course. I also ordered the bourbon, apricot, and sage cocktail and was impressed that it was flavorful but not too sweet or watery. I will be dreaming of this meal for a while and scheming how to get back to New York to eat again. Logistics: - there's indoor and outdoor seating but avoid the outdoor because it was basically on the sidewalk and not the vibe for the tasting menu - reservations recommend - it's Manhattan so there isn't really any parking but close to subways and Central Park - you can create two different vegetarian or pescatarian tasting courses

This place deserves a 10 star, everything was curated and so flavour full, service was phenomenal. I went with a 4- course meal 1. Aloo sphere chat 2. Prawn appetiser 3. Rumali roti+ghee roast lamb with butter chicken kulcha 4. Banana sticky cake I was impressed by the quantity of the food and presentation, menu had decent vegetarian options as well. I would recommend this place and it's a must visit

My post-birthday dinner spent with husband and daughter, was lovely. At 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, the dining room was quiet. By 9:00 the place was jumpin'. The menu is described as "inventive Indian cuisine using global ingredients and techniques." One can choose the three or four course prix fixe. We shared dishes, enabling us to sample so much more! It's important to savor each bite, and even with small portions we had leftovers. Everything, starting with the amuse bouche, was perfect. The only dish not as well-received, was the tenderloin. If vacillating about your main, go with the branzino. Indian Accent's wine list is 20+ pages. The sommelier, a lovely woman respectful of our budget, recommended a wonderful red. I'll add that everyone in the restaurant was gracious and helpful. Indian Accent isn't necessarily the best restaurant I've gone to, but a smidge under five stars, it's worthy of excellent reviews.

Flavorful and delicious food - more American / international forward taste with indian-inspired flavors. Portion sizes were on the smaller side but service was great and ambiance is perfect for a romantic date night or a work meeting.
We went there for a birthday celebration and we're so glad
We went there for a birthday celebration and we're so glad we did. The ambiance, the staff, the food everything was top notch. You can choose between a 3 or a 4 course option. The best part is, they let you choose and customize your options such that you can pick all 3 courses as appetizers or even all 3 deserts if you wanted. We opted for the vegetarian options. It started with amuse-bouche, which was pumpkin soup and stuffed naan, served in the cutest possible way! They even gave us a second round of the soup when we said we liked it so much. For appetizers, we got potato sphere chaat and the shakarkandi chaat. Both were nice, but I liked the potato sphere chaat better. For mid course, we opted for pao bhaji and tofu medu vadai. They had their own versions of the dishes but the authenticity of the taste was not lost. The pav bhaji was surprisingly light. For main course, we went with baked paneer and soy keema, along with arbi shaami. The arbi shaami kabab was just melting in the mouth. For accompaniments we took stuffed mushroom truffle kulcha , and naan with daal. I was stuffed by the end of this, and decided to change my preference to stick with the three course menu instead. My husband took the Aamras with fresh cut mangoes. The staff was just too nice, they still got me a smaller version of makhan malai to celebrate my birthday. Both the desserts were amazing! All in all, if you are in NY, please visit this place. I know I am going back!
Good place
First time there. The food was delicious. Sophisticated and differente dishes compare other Indian place we tried; also european place. We appreciated that. The staff was amazing, everyone was gentle e cute. Good experience.
Delicious food, one of the best Indian eateries in the US.
The drinks are lovely and we enjoyed this space for a special occasion
Sophisticated atmosphere, attentive service and every dish
Sophisticated atmosphere, attentive service and every dish was stunning, I will defiantly add this place to my roster. Brought my mom here who is vegetarian. I wanted to take her to a place where there was more then one option to choose from and this place did not disappoint. Very delicious cocktails, I tried 2 and really enjoyed them both. We had one 3 course and one 4 course and shared the appetizers. The waiter let us know we could mix and match any 3 or 4 except the entrees, can only choose one. He said we can even just order all desserts if we want and after trying 2 of their desserts, I might take them up on that one day, hahahaha! The names are long, it's faster just to take a look at my photos for exact dishes. I honesty think anything you order here, it would be delicious, except the entrees were a little disappointing.
I went in for brunch on a Sunday with two friends.
Food was a solid 4, dessert was a 5 and the service was out of the world! It was the best service on our trip and the team looked like they were all working really well together and happy to be there. I'm definitely coming back when I'm in the city again. Kudos to the service team!
It's a bit hard to write this review, but I felt like this
It's a bit hard to write this review, but I felt like this place had no soul or passion. The decor lacked an elegant ambiance, could use some art on the walls, and a more modern feel to accompany the fine dining. It's in the middle of tourist central, so it really needs to be an escape from that to fully immerse you. The service was not in line with the prices. Our waiter never checked in after taking our order. The service was fast. They should have explained the dishes better to us. They source fresh products from the market, but they never talked about it. We learned about it by accident, when one of the ingredients on the menu was different. This is poor training and execution of the dining experience. The food was good, but it could be better, take more risks and without the overall experience and service it doesn't quite give you a feeling of wow. I would skip this for a more neighborhood spot.
Below expectations
Craving for some flavorful spicy Indian food and this was a disappointment. Indian food I knew is all about flavors and this was more about plating and was pretentious. The temperature, texture and the overall palate was lacking. This was below expectations.
Outstanding
Outstanding experience. The food and service were both absolutely amazing. There was a point when we even got part if the order wrong, but we were overall so satisfied with everything, we didn’t have the heart to tell them they had messed in a small way. Pricey for sure, but it was a 5 star experience.
Reasonable Michelin 1-Star
We came here because of the rating and proximity to our hotel. We opted for the 3-course price fixe at $88 and the food was superb, though VERY spicy. The kulchas were great, especially the butter chicken. The mains, the branzino and beef tenderloin, were great. The smoked eggplant cornet was VERY spicy.

This restaurant is pricey, but totally worth it! Each course was delicious, as were the mocktails. And the desserts were phenomenal. Will definitely be back.
Really amazing Indian restaurant
Indian Accent is a top class Indian restaurant in New York City. The food is simply stunning alongside a great wine selection and super service. See photos of food …it tasted so good!
Great experience! Food and service were spot on! We had
Great experience! Food and service were spot on! We had the 4 course meal and left very happy and full.
My friend and I wanted to definitely try a good fine dine
My friend and I wanted to definitely try a good fine dine Indian restaurant as NYC has so many of them. We decided to go ahead with Indian Accent which has been recognized by Mindy Kaling and BJ Novak. We selected a fixed 3 course dinner menu. They start off my offering a complimentary pumpkin soup and blue cheese balls before the dishes arrive. For appetizers we got beetroot kababs, jackfruit phulka (tacos), tofu medhu vada and pav bhaji. Out of all the appetizers, jackfruit phukla was our favorite. This was a modernized Mexican touch to a chapatti which we really liked. My second favorite was tofu vada. I don't think I ever imagined this combination of having silken tofu with a crispy vada covering. The gunpowder even though was less but very tasty. The pav bhaji was OK in terms of taste but it has to be the tiniest pav I have ever seen! For main course, we got black dal with garlic naan, saag paneer with makhani sauce, wild mushroom kebabs with truffle and mushroom kulcha. I think we liked our apps more than the main dishes. The saag paneer with makhani was our favorite out of the lot! The dal makhani surprisingly was the least favorite as it just did not have any salt. We skipped desert as we'd selected 2 apps each in our 3 course menu as both of us aren't desert people. The service was a bit average. We were a bit pissed when they offered sparkling water bottle without the lid. What's the point of ordering Sparkling water if the fizz can be easily evaporated? Overall, nice sophisticated ambiance. My expectations were slightly higher as this is NYC, taste could be more authentic but at the same time creative. P.S. Indian Accent also has it's branches in New Delhi and Mumbai. I visit Mumbai and Delhi very frequently but had never heard about this place before however they have glorious reviews at both of these places and it is very difficult to get a reservation in India!
Indian cuisine with a twist of creativity
Outstanding experience from start to finish. My husband and I were a little unsure of what everything in the menu was. Our server MD explained every possible detail of each dish. We told him our likes and dislikes and he was able to help us navigate the menu. All his recommendations were on point. I can't even explain how amazing the food and the presentation were. The attention to detail that the chef puts into his dishes are incredible. We chose the 3 course prefix. I didn't want each course to end because the flavors were incredible. Just when I thought it couldn't get better, the next course blew me away. This restaurant is an experience and worth every single penny. Our service was probably the best service we've ever had in a restaurant. Go. You will not be disappointed.
Solid dinner spot
Really delicious indian restaurant. The service was great and the atmosphere was good for having dinner with my boss. The price was reasonable for how much food we got. I would go back.

My boyfriend is Indian so we eat at a lot of Indian restaurants. He had eaten at this restaurant in Delhi so he wanted to try the NYC location. Wow one of the two best Indian restaurants we've eaten at in NYC. I put pictures of everything below. We each had the 4 course and we loved that they let u mix and match. The eggplant "cone" was my absolute favorite but everything was top notch. The restaurant was fancy but still comfortable. It was busy but yet we still felt like we were in a private date. Our server was soooooo attentive and had a great dry sense of humor. Really great expe overall.
Lovely place, amazing food, and great staff.
Maybe it was my party's preference for more traditional Indian cuisine, but this takes a venture to high end Indian cuisine and away from what you come to expect in the States. Only choice was a 3 or 4 course set menu, which wasn't bad for under $100 for each, but it was very heard to decide what was what. At the end, the server helped us out and we were experienced some amazing flavors and exotic dishes. Honestly, this was a great business dinner with my colleagues, but perhaps if I would have been more aware of the high scale offering, I might have chose a bit differently. Regardless, we ultimately truly enjoyed everything and most importantly didn't walk away with any stomach issues afterwards which is a major win for any Indian cuisine. I would be happy to return again someday, now with the necessary expectations.

The service and ambiance were excellent! I enjoyed certain dishes more than others even given the large menu selection. If you sit at the bar you can order a la cart, but if you sit down at a table you have to choose between a 3 or 4 course prix fix menu. The tenderloin came out a little tough for the main course and they swapped it out for us with the prawns very quickly. The mid courses were my favorites actually, especially the prawns and how they were seasoned, but still very crunchy. The bone marrow was also fantastic and the greatest way to add cholesterol to your diet. The pork ribs, though super tender, didn't stand out beyond just falling off the bones in terms of flavor. The kukcha was absolutely delicious for both the duck and butter chicken, but they didn't have very much filling. I really liked the prawn main course also, but it needed a couple more prawns to round it out. The rice was a nice addition, but even with its color, it didn't add anything taste wise to the dish beyond being visually appealing carbs. The desserts were ok, the giant whipped cream was probably the most interesting and felt like barely eating anything. The pecan pie like dessert had great texture, but this was a bonus on the house which I wouldn't have paid for after tasting it. The sago pear was mildly interesting, but wasn't particularly sweet or unique beyond the oversized sago texture. I might go back to try the menu another time, but fantastic to try at least once. The experience was great overall even though I wasn't blown away by every dish.
Really enjoyed my recent dinner here.
The starter of blue cheese stuffed naan and shorba was great, but I'm sure those who don't like blue cheese will be looking forward to the other options. The chaat and vada were really tasty. I wish the bhaaji was spicier, but the mini pavs were unique. The paneer with soy cube was very heavy, but paired well with the naan and daal. We were actually too stuffed to get dessert, which wasn't what we expected, so will have to return to check out their dessert options! Overall a great place to try a fixed menu of Indian food. Reservations needed.
Dinner with wife
This place had a hype which made me drive all the way from long island to NYC to eat at this Indian joint. I had made an appointment at 8 pm which was not ready and after 10-15 min got a table which looked like I was eating food with a train of people all tables were adjoining to each other. Any way had to make some commotion so that they moved us to booth privacy at last. The service was good except my wife's drink came after 45min. Food was not for Indian palate but was not bad,
A delicious experience coupled with great service and
A delicious experience coupled with great service and beautiful ambiance. I tried the brunch tasting menu which was recently introduced by the restaurant. The restaurant came recommended by friends who had tried their dinner tasting menu and found it delicious. The brunch menu consisted of 2 courses with a choice of accompaniment and additional cost for dessert and drinks. Since I came with a group of friends, we got to try almost all the dishes on the menu. Ironically, the amuse bouche was one of the most flavorful dish of the meal. They served the most delicious pumpkin shorba with blue cheese naan. First course: Tried the burrata chaat, dried fenugreek papdi chaat, herb potato sago pancake, pao bhaji. My personal favorite was the burrata chaat. I loved the crispy lotus stem and the mustard-tomato jam/chutney in the dish. The jam was extremely delicious. Second course: Tried the egg ghee roast, uttapam, baked saffron cauliflower, shrimp and herb omlette. For me, the star of the second course was the saffron cauliflower baked dish. I had never had cauliflower with this flavor profile before. I would recommend giving it a try as it's something unique. Accompaniment: Tried the black dairy daal with naan, smoked eggplant and bujia raita, traditional black garlic naan, wild mushroom kulcha. Everything was delicious especially the kulcha and the black daal. Dessert: For dessert we could only try the makhan malai. It was pillowy, light, not overly sweet. I found the brunch tasting absolutely worth it's cost and would recommend it to anyone looking for fushion Indian fine dine.
good food, nice service
tasty options including vegetarian, great service, nice atmosphere. everyone gets an accompaniment with their main course which is like a bread or starch of some type. if you get the 3 course then 3 from any category (except only 1 main), likewise for 4 course. if you're celebrating a bday, no need to order another dessert ;-)
An incredible high-end Indian restaurant with an incredible
An incredible high-end Indian restaurant with an incredible tasting menu. Every bite we had was amazing, the service was prompt despite us coming in at 10pm, and the general vibe of the restaurant is a cozy/calm. The food was inventive, eclectic, and still super balanced. I still think about the beet/peanut butter little bites as one of the most interestingly delicious bites I've had in a long time. I'm shocked they don't have a Michelin star, but I would NOT be surprised if it's coming.
Spectacular, inventive Indian cuisine.
My second time solo dining here, both times at the bar. The bar staff has gone above and beyond to make me feel welcome. The cocktails are fantastic.
Outdated service mentality
Rude and pretentious host. We had a reservation, yet they still had us wait an hour. No apologies. Sad because we were really impressed by the food. Service only got better when we ordered an expensive bottle of wine. Not cool. Will not return, nor can I recommend a restaurant with outdated and pretentious service mentality.
Fire the man at the front of house
Fabulous food. Lovely setting. Attentive wait staff. We have frequented Indian accent many times and have introduced our friends to the venue. Unfortunately we won’t be back and we suggest you avoid the rude behavior that ruined our night. Our table ordered cocktails, all name brand liquor. When the bill came my husbands shot of Don Julio was $60.00! We thought it was an error. When we questioned it the server said nothing. As we left the older man at the front of the house asked about our meal. We complained about the surprise pricing for the Don Julio and he said we should have known. We observed that in the past when a bar has an unusually expensive pour the customer is informed ahead of time. He didn’t back down. Our friend said “ all you have to do is say you are sorry”. We had paid. We were leaving. We were calm. We were regulars. The response “ I’m not sorry “. There’s no excuse for that behavior and no reason for us to return. Save yourself the aggravation. There are other places in NYC
Impressive Indian Restaurant
Amazing Indian restaurant. Unusual dishes and twist on traditional Indian cuisine. Excellent presentation of dishes.

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!
This app is life changing
This app has opened my world up to so many wonderful new experiences I would never have the chance to have without access to this awesome app! 10/10!
Worked perfectly
Was a little nervous at first but was pleased to see that the booking went through flawlessly.
Highly recommended.
Success on Short Notice
Was able to snag an indoor table at Don Angie through an absolutely seamless worry-free process.
Worked perfectly, thank you!
This is a crazy holiday season in NYC and I was very pleasantly surprised to see that AppointmentTrader works! Will be using again!

So glad I came across this app :)

Worked perfectly to get into Carbone. So delighted
perfect
Worked well, got me into a restaurant with no availability
I was skeptical, and I still don't really know how they managed to find this hard-to-find reservation, but it was a win-win from my point of view, and I'll use this service again.
Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.
Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!

LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.

Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil
🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🧨🧨🧨 now on to 30 mill!
Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome
to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
