I would avoid, attended during the day, the place was empty and because my 12 year old so. was wearing something similar to jogging pants we was turned away. Very embarrassing and insulating.

We arrived early and were sent to the bar - ordered some cocktails and 45 minutes later after we were seated at our table we still had no drinks. In fact we never got them at all. No one was bothered about that and that was the theme of the evening. Just disinterested slow service. Except for having wine poured - what felt like every minute. So that was annoying. Some of the food was really lovely. There was one dish we didn’t like and didn’t eat - waiter wasn’t interested about that. We had a table at 8.15 and at 10 they were trying to move us on for the next seating. Just a bit rude really and a big chunky service added to the bill which we did pay but really truthfully it wasn’t deserved … think carefully before booking - it is expensive and you may find you have a nicer experience somewhere else ……

Great place and location let down terribly, by far, the most miserable team of staff - led by The Manager who really couldn’t give a hoot if you’ve had a good time or not - we did raise our complaints to him but his stand offish and arrogant response has put us off the place for good! Would not recommend , don’t waste your time or money!!
Sexy Fish owners , take stock your staff are useless and letting you down

Beautiful food and excellent service by Adil and everyone.
From the amazing cocktails to the stunning desserts. Well done everyone. Many thanks. We look forward to returning soon.
My god this place has got up itself!!!
Been numerous times since it opened, but not for a while.
We had a drink at the bar my husband and two of my sons.
I ordered a Tito’s club soda and fresh lime, I asked the bar tender ( who did not seem happy) if I could please have a gin glass or a round glass as opposed to the glass he had in his hand which was a long glass.
He said NO you can’t, it’s our policy that vodka has to be served in this glass!!!
I said ‘really, how odd’
So do you want it or not he said!
My son wanted to leave immediately but I wanted to stay andenjoy our drink.
I noticed the place was not as just as it had been previous times when I went.
Be careful Sexy Fish!
Just saying
Food, atmosphere and service is consistently brilliant in Sexy Fish. Best of it's class in London in my opinion. The sushi and cocktails are particularly excellent but if you like a lively restaurant experience with opulence and edge this is the place to be. Enjoy.
Great atmosphere and service, especially the barman. However the food was pretty bland, tempura was like out of a chip shop. Very expensive for what it was. Advised it was my husband’s birthday beforehand and not acknowledged in any way. Saying that, glad we experienced the restaurant but it is not a patch on Ivy Asia where the food, service and value is outstanding.
We had a lunch booking, and turned up on time, to be turned around by the dreadfully rude doorman and receptionist, who claimed I had a tracksuit on, and that didn't meet the 'dress code'.
I did not have a tracksuit on. Super smart knitted top and t shirt, and a pair of vintage Issey Miyake wrap around black pants and black Vans. This was lunchtime so the 'glamouress' dress code wasn't totally enforced, with business men sitting around in badly fitting suits etc. Their website says " We ask that you approach your wardrobe deliberately and with a sense of occasion. You are welcome if you dress with personality, purpose and originality but please note we favor a glamorous dress code."
VERY poor as I certainly looked the part and wasn't slumming it !
Well, like Jess Glynne we walked next door to Amazonica and had the best ever lunch.
It really doesn't matter what you wear, as the doorman can clearly call you out !
Decided to pop into Sexy Fish for a drink whilst in London. The restaurant has a nice aquatic vibe to it…the service is polite and efficient.. the drinks menu is comprehensive… we did not eat so cant comment on the food… a nice touch was a dj playing ambient music in the background.. will definitely pop in again for some food at some point in the future
Beautiful food and excellent service by everyone. From the amazing cocktails to the stunning desserts. Well done everyone. Many thanks. We look forward to returning soon.

Worst service I’ve ever experienced and vastly over priced. Made to feel totally unwelcome. A fast food experience, not fine dining. A very disappointing birthday celebration.
We booked Sexy Fish for a pre-theatre meal, arriving early and being directed to wait at the bar. Bar service was quite slow but the team were obviously slammed and mostly polite and apologetic. To be honest, I think the reservations were being hosted pretty poorly, as we were seated almost 15 minutes late. Not the end of the world but our server's section definitely ended up triple-sat anyway, so the wait to sit down seemed to do more harm than good.
Our server and the hosts we encountered we all friendly and helpful, talking us through the menu and making sure we ordered "right" with a balance of dishes and not too much or too little food. The DJ and bongos made the place loud, but not unbearable and this wasn't a surprise to us.
All of the food we had was lovely. I would recommend the wagyu gyozas and the pork belly skewers especially. However, this is my expectation when you are paying so much per dish.
The reason for the lower rating was the chaotic feel of the place and the slow service, which I'd reiterate wasn't the fault of the server we had who was obviously trying to keep up. The place doesn't seem to be very organised, with food runners aimlessly following servers around to be told where their food needs dropping off and long waits for drinks. We look forward to the Manchester branch opening up north soon so we can try it out closer to home, and hopefully some of these areas will be improved upon there.
🙂
I would give five however, the hostess was a raging bish.
I came in with my friend properly dressed and got stress from brunette and blonde hostesses. They acted as if they were high school mean girls by the way they stared. We told them we had a reservation and they said it will take a minute but all they did was whisper to each other about if we are of age to drink. We are both 20 year olds and are definitely of age. They asked to see our ID to which my friend brought hers but I did not I had my ID and vaccine card scanned to my phone (it has worked everywhere) yet they rejected mine. anyways they said in a rude way that I look too young to be 20 which frankly is just discriminating and rudely judging my appearance.
🤮
Rude & Pretentious Staff
Booked a table for a late lunch and early dinner with friends as we were going to be in the area for the day. Having finished a meeting a couple of doors up from the restaurant we walked in, a little early, and asked if they would be able to seat us or if we could have a drink at the bar if not possible (there was plenty of available space as it was mid afternoon). Our friends and my wife noticed the reception staff eyeing my wife up and down and whispering to each other with a shake of the head. The receptionist (reception manager) told my wife should could not come in as she was wearing leggings and their dress code was no leggings.
Two issues with this observation from the receptionist:
1. The Sexyfish website states smart casual and a number of quite reasonable restrictions (sportswear etc), but no mention of leggings.
2. My wife was wearing a very smart jumpsuit. My wife was far better dressed than I was and her clothes do not come from high street retailers so she could not be accused of being scruffy.
The receptionist told my wife if she wanted to go and change they would hold the table, but there is no restaurant, particularly with this kind of arrogance, that would warrant this additional effort. Before writing this I read some of the other reviews and noticed that about 10% are very negative (terrible). Not only that it would appear that several other guests were treated in the same way.
However, every cloud has a silver lining and we walked round the corner to Hakkasan which has a much more relaxed atmosphere and stunning food.
The food may be good a Sexyfish, but the attitude is arrogant and rude. After our experience I would not waste my time on a revisit...... no food is that good!
My friends and I visited the restaurant as a treat whilst visiting London. I felt very unwelcome by some of the staff upon arrival (one particular member of staff looked us up and down). Our cocktails arrived after our meal did, however, our waitress did apologise for this and knocked them off our total bill. The food tasted so fresh and the sushi was phenomenal. It was a nice overall experience, but I don’t think any of us would rush to return.
🤮
Way to treat a regular!
Always start the evening off in Sexy Fish, before proceeding to other London late night haunts to let off steam. However, came out tonight to celebrate 53 y B'day to be fronted by, yet another, crew of NEW doormen to be told the venue was full - even though it was, quite visibly, almost empty. What was it - the styled goatee or the long hair that put your pitiful excuse for doormen off. Will I return - very doubtful.
🤢
Decent food poor service
Decent food let down by very poor service. I got the impression there are some great servers there (the sommelier was lovely) so we perhaps got unlucky. Unfriendly waiter who was visibly disgruntled when we asked to see the cheaper lunchtime menu (the fact you have to ask for it specifically is very poor - I only knew about it as I saw it online). In the end we went for the fancier menu. Real mixed bag of food service with some dishes being plonked down without any explanation and some being talked through. 2 dishes brought to our table then taken away (with no apology!) as they got the table wrong. Also poured me a glass of next door’s wine bottle by mistake until I corrected them. Stone cold coffee served at end of meal.
Overall the food is good if not exceptional. High end, trendy Asian food is not hard to find in London and for the money I’ve had vastly better experiences in Roka and Hakkasan. I’m glad it wasn’t a specoak occasion - as it was we were able to laugh off the shambolic and grumpy service but if it had been a birthday/anniversary etc we’d have been quite upset.
I visited for a business lunch in the private room downstairs. It is an impressive space with large fish tanks filling two sides of the room. The food was not bad overall, but a bit inconsistent. The sushi rolls and pumpkin tempura were mediocre, the beef skewers decent, the chicken teriyaki main course really good, while the chocolate and caramel dessert was probably the best part of the meal. Service was a bit disjointed, which was surprising given we were a relatively small group. There were some delays, and they were not that great at clearing empty plates. Overall, a pleasant enough lunch, but not quite up to the expected standard.
You need to be quite rich to go and some of the food is quite rich too. Pork belly skewers spring to mind.
Saturday night and we had 13 plates between 4 of us. The food was all of a pretty high standard, with the beef and asparagus skewer and Lobster tempura (£35) top of the list. Gyozas were only the real let down.
It's noisy, loud music, the odd musician wandering around playing a sax or bongo drums - not entirely my bag but it was kind of fun but hard to hear your guests. Lots of people watching and posing and selfies going on. I'm sure i'll be on tiktok in the background now.
Elephant in the room is the (more than) slight feeling of being legged over. Wine list is ridiculous - nothing much under £100 and it's not special wine - I think they're taking double normal restaurant mark up. £14 for small bowls of rice - really? And £2 cover charge on a meal costing over £150ph - come on...
Only other grumble was being refused increasing table from 4 to 5 a few days in advance. They sat us at a table laid for 6.....
I won't rush back, but it was a fun evening.
Wonderful food and service throughout our evening. Spoilt by 3 women, 2 very loud at the bar complaining about not being seated after THEY turned up late for their booking. They chose the time! Should they be named & shamed? Looked like sisters and had strong Essex accents.
After finishing a family birthday brunch at nearby Bocconcino on 6th Feb 2022 , we decided to go to sexy fish for a few after drinks.
Upon entering a near empty restaurant with more staff than guests. I asked for a table of 8 for a few drinks. The front of house lady said "sure" and would just check with the manager, the manager proceeded to look me up and down and then shake and said no to her colleague.
The lady then returned clearly embarrassed and said "sorry we don't have a table". After pointing out the the entire bar was empty and there were hardly any guests, she just said "sorry".
My wife then entered the restaurant with my parents and the rest of group, where the other staff hurried to get a table ready. (It was clear they did not realise we were all together).
I simply said we are leaving and took my group out, the waiting staff and doorman was apologetic and clearly embarrassed by our refusal of entry.
We then went next door to Amazonico and spent a few hundred in 45min on drinks, where the staff were absolutely fantastic.
I have been to Sexy fish on numerous occasions, and will never return again, after clearly being profiled on entry (i am black), where when my white wife entered, the staff hurried around her and there seemed to be no issue with getting a table.
Disgusting behaviour, and will not return.

I really enjoyed my visit, I love the idea of sharing lots of small dishes - much more socialable! Also loved the choice of mocktails as I don't drink. Food was yummy, atmosphere is really great, and the staff were excellent. Different to any London restaurant experience that I've had and would thoroughly recommend.
Staff are very full of themselves and everything appeared rushed. The explanation of how the menu worked was hard to follow as it’s quite noisy to understand. Food was ok but overpriced .., certainly paying for location. Watch out for the ‘non-discretionary’ automatically added.
Personal opinion it was like a rich mans Nando’s serving fish.
😍
Brilliant night for dinner
We had an amazing night here last night. Drinks were lovely, atmosphere was great and the food was perfect. The service was brilliant - my water was always filled, the food came quickly and everything was explained perfectly - we were so well looked after. The tuna tartare is a must as is the beef tenderloin and the doughnuts. We will be back 😊
Quality live music, good atmosphere and overpriced cocktails 🍸 but definitely worth it 😁 . Toilets are stunningly gorgeous as well 🦄
🙂
Sexy fish/Foxy Plaice/ Sultry Bream/ Alluring pilchard… you get the game give it a go
From the moment you spot Sexy Fish as you approach Berkeley Square you know you’re in for one of those nights.
From the doorman who did a fantastic job of not laughing at my other half as her ankle gave way about 6 feet from the door to the army of waitresses and maitre d that greet you on arrival, all the way through to the endearing waiter who unashamedly admitted he had no idea what was in one particular piece of sushi, the staff are fantastic (the only caveat being a particularly spiky person in the reservation team who reacted like I’d just warned her about another covid lockdown when I mentioned we’d be 15 minutes late; obviously a long week).
The place is loud, bright, moody, cool, decadent, dare I say sexy and whilst my initial feeling was that I’d sat down in a club (the music is loud but admittedly I’m 35 and grumpy now) the moment the drinks were served things improved significantly.
The food is unreal. 5 stars all round. If you don’t think you can fit in the sharing cheesecake to finish, just try it anyway you big wimp.
Not sure if I need to go again and highly doubtful I can afford to but if you’re looking for amazing food and you want to eat that food around beautiful people whilst watching said beautiful people record insta stories and FaceTime their beautiful friends, this is the place for you.
😍
I visited London for the first time and my daughter
I visited London for the first time and my daughter recommend that we try Sexy Fish for dinner, as a vegetarian I kind of struggled saying yes but we were with others so I agreed. The minute the restaurant staff opened up the door to our dining experience I was in awe at the customer service, the hostesses were welcoming and lovely our servers were polite and friendly but our waitress Gaby was a gem, seriously a true diamond!! Suggested food for our table that everyone enjoyed and she brought me the best vegetarian dishes and I even ordered doubles. Oh my goodness, everything was delicious! My compliments to the sushi chefs! But I could go on and on about Gaby, she was absolutely adorable and she was the most informative server I've ever had! You must try this restaurant!!
